This was a bit strange...

I was surprised by the ending but it wasn't as smooth as I would have wanted and I still had a few questions about loose ends that weren't taken care of. It was also strange for me because the focus of the book was the Presidency and American political parties but I kept seeing terminology and other little errors that led me to believe that the author wasn't American. Those little mistakes bugged me the entire time I was reading the book and I couldn't get over it.

The presidents homosexual relationship sounds like it was in another book. It is told in a recap kind of way. A lot is told that way like the fact that Grayson was outed by the Vice President at the time. Was that in the previous book? I feel like I missed a book somewhere

Too much telling and right up front.

Weird that the assumption is that yea doesn't have caffeine. Most tea is black tea which is very high in caffeine. It's my own caffeine provided of choice. Many tea drinkers claim herbal tea is not tea because it doesn't come from the tea plant. In fact, tea leaves contain more caffeine than coffee beans, although people usually water down tea more than they do coffee.

I am not comfortable having a gay man thinking a closeted cheating Republican is the greatest man he's ever known.

Gray is way too controlling.

"I have a very addictive personality and I think I just found my new drug of choice." Egads.

The president would be concerned about a hell of a lot more than this scandal. He would be concerned but he would also trust his team--which would include fixers and media relations people--to fix it. He certainly wouldn't be deciding the guest list for dinner with his VP who he suspects is behind some of the problem.

I am positive secret service agents have to sign non-disclosure agreements. Blaine could be accused of treason actually. He also could have lied about the dates.

For once I'd like to read an M/M romance where the presidency was even plausible, something more like scandal although even that has too weak a president and no person who's worked that hard to get into office would even consider giving it up for love.

Oh dear that ending was stupid. I can't believe this is the same series.

Why 2 stars. While it worked at book 1, I didn't know the killer. At this it was cool to know who it was, but then it wasn't who it was. And everything went hill down.

Woah... did not see that coming! The ending totally surprised me. Very nice! Usually I know how something's going to end half way through the book.

There were some contradictory things between the first and second book though. Minor stuff, but since I read them back to back, it jumped out at me.

Overall, good read! I think Carol Lynne writes much better books with co-authors.

Ok, i brought this book a few weeks after it was release, but wasn't in a hurry to read it, but just as soon as i read it i could not stop, the ending had me like what. As always i enjoy every book that Ms. Lynne has out and will continue to add them to my collections
