This book is great for a younger audience (preschool and kindergarten). Michael Hague also does a great job illustrating the book to be eye catching for its readers. It's perfect for introducing rhyming and getting students to focus on direct word instruction because of the repetition. Repetition can also be a great way to get students to start focusing on what the writer deems to be important and what language is being used. I especially loved looking at this book because I used to read a different version of this book as a kid. A question I would have would be, who originally came up with the rhyme and why?
This is such a simple yet divine picture book for kids. Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear is repeated before action words like "turn around". It is a great way to get the kids to get used to simple actions like say good night, turn off the light, go upstairs. Brilliant read for storytime for toddlers and babies.
This is a great book to use with young children to introduce rhymes to them. It can be used with early readers to work on fluency and expression when reading orally.
The boys are really into the bedtime ritual of performing the motions to this as Grandma reads it-- and no other reader will do. "Teddy bear, teddy bear, that will do." (take a bow)
The format for this edition was a tiny board book. The vintage illustration is very nice. A young child requested for me to read this book during story hour and enjoyed it very much. The content flowed very well.
This was a very cute book and would be great to have in my classroom if I were to teach young kids. It would be a great book to have as it is short action rhyme book and would get the kids moving around. I think it would be a good book to have in a classroom of 3-6 year olds.
This is the perfect book for young children. This is an action rhyme, so for every page, there is an action that can be acted out. The students would love to do it again and again and soon, they would all have it memorized. Great book to teach rhyme!!
