Introducing the Cartwright sisters-Harmony, Destiny and Storm-triplets and unstoppable seductresses.
Harmony, the buyer for her sisters' vintage curio shop, can read objects and learn of their former owners. Now, a Celtic ring leads her to a castle on the coast of Massachusetts. King Paxton's money-pit is cursed, and he hopes that this leggy blonde can help him find peace with an angry ghost, a disgruntled renovation crew-and his own heart.
Annette Blair's romantic comedies owe their beginnings to a root canal and a reluctant trip to Salem Massachusetts. Though she had once proclaimed she'd never write a contemporary, she stumbled into the serendipitous role of Accidental Witch Writer on that trip. Funny how she managed to eat her words even with an aching jaw. Magic or destiny; Annette's Bewitching Romantic Comedies became her first National Bestsellers.
Her August '07 release, SEX AND THE PSYCHIC WITCH, the first in her Triplet Witch Trilogy, hit the #1 bestselling spot for contemporary romance-humorous on Barnes & Noble. It also hit B & N's overall bestseller lists for mass market and fiction mass market and #7 for romance mass market, topping Nielsen BookScan and Borders Bestseller lists as well.
The one where ... um, the first chapter was so dense with forced wackiness, expo-dumpage, and other inexplicable oddities that I'm not entirely clear on this, but I think the heroine buys a dress at a garage sale (which is, for some reason, a costume garage sale), and for some reason, when she puts it on, half of a puzzle ring comes out of her mouth (it could have come out of the dress, but it seriously reads like it comes out of her mouth), and then she has a vision of a castle, and one of her psychic sisters hands her a painting of the castle, painted by her witch ancestor, and somehow her other sister knows which castle it is, and so she goes there and meets the hero, who keeps carrying her various places, but her presence quiets the ghost who haunts the castle he's restoring, and so ...
Right, this is wrongheaded in so many ways that I don't even know where to start, except that I would pay money (or at least postage) to have best_beloved review this book, because that's the only thing that would repay me for the time I wasted reading thirty pages of it.
(Reading for a romantic comedy contest for my RWA chapter.)
i can deal with the fact that the author can't spell or identify homonyms [because at least she can tell a good story!] - but it makes me want to buy the copy editor a matching dictionary and thesaurus.
Meh, I liked it alright. To be truthful, I almost put it away after the first few chapters. This author's writing style is not my favorite. She tries so hard to be witty in every line that she actually turns out NOT witty at all. There's so much banter between the hero and heroine that at times it barely made sense, and greatly distracted me from the main plot, which was actually not that bad.
I grew more interested when King's family showed up, and the ending was nice.
The love scenes were so oddly placed and seemed to come out of nowhere.
I'm not sure if I'll read the next book in this series. I would like to see what happens with Storm and Destiny, but the snarky banter really gets on my nerves.
When I first started this book I was completely bored and confused. The writing isnt that great. It only got interesting once the characters finally started getting it on. After that the story finally began to surface but not much. If youre looking for something hot and quick to read then check it out. But as far as the supernatural elements of this novel, dont count on it too much. I would have preferred more witchy witches rather than the wiccan types to read about.
I was very excited to start reading The Triplet Witch Trilogy by Annette Blair, but I was quickly disappointed. I expected a fun, light-hearted chick-litish paranormal, but all I got was a sex-filled, annoying book. I don't really have too much to say except that I just didn't like it. The writing got on my nerves, especially the dialogue. And it felt like the plot was thrown together, with random events thrown in. And with the exception of Jake, the two-year-old little boy, I didn't really care about any of the characters. I have the next two books in the series to read, and since I am one of those people that has to follow through, I will read them next. I can only hope that I like them more than this one.
I really did not enjoy this book that much. I didn't like the style of the writing and thought it was way too much dialogue and not enough description in between dialogue. Also, I really disliked the constant use of Harmony saying "withering witch balls" over and over again! I thought the progression was too fast and it felt like I was hit by a train during the transitions b/c they didn't happen smoothly. For example, when all of a sudden his kid and grandkid show up. There wasn't enough of trying to figure out things with this ghost that was wailing right away and I found the main character's relationship to each other very awkward. Everything just happened way too fast. I just felt that the book was all over the place and will not be reading the other two books in the series.
Harmony Cartwright, one of the three triplet witches, sees darkness and despair when she tries on an antique gown. Traveling to its source, Paxton Castle, she must tame a witchly ghost bent on retribution while also taming the resistant but handsome owner of the castle, King Paxton.
I just didn't get into this one much. King is a terrible hero, always brooding and never connecting. His surprise daughter and grandson were too much. Also, Harmony's portrayal just seemed off, like the author was trying too hard. I found myself just wanting it to be over many times.

I feel bad rating this one because I never finished the book. Which is annoying since I was so thrilled with the earlier trilogy that I thought one about the triplets would be fantastic, so I ran out and bought the first one the second I found it... but she lost me with all the flowery metaphors in the land of sex.
This super-cute paranormal romance is part one of a three part series involving the Cartwright triplets. Each triplet is a witch in her own right. Together, they are a force to be reckoned with, not to mention they are identical knockouts. Harmony as psychometry as her talent. She touches an object and immediately knows of their former owners. This talent has its uses as Harmony is co-owner of a vintage clothing and curio store with her sisters. A recent find of a dress with a ring sewn into its hem has Harmony on the hunt for the original, albeit dead, owner of the items. It brings her to King Paxton. King has a ghost problem. Not that he calls it that. But he has a castle he wants to dispose of after he renovates it which is hard to do when a ghost is doing its best to make renovations impossible. As soon as Harmony arrives onsite she knows she has found the right place. It isn't merely that the ghost quiets at her presence, it's because there is a lot more malevolence waiting for her in the castle. On the plus side, the castle has a lot of vintage clothing just waiting for her to go through and make an offer! King doesn't know what to make of Harmony. Well, he does, but he doesn't want to. She quiets the ghost he doesn't want to admit is haunting the place. She ignites the libido he doesn't want to admit he still has. And she may have a way to save the day which his ego is having a hard time with. None of which stops Harmony for an instant. This is cute, sexy, funny and delightful.
DNF! This book is just awful! I only made it in 39 pages before giving up. I had hoped that this story would be cute and charming but I was so terribly wrong! At the beginning you are thrown into this cluster of chicks talking.
Harmony, Destiny, and Storm. Apparently they are triplets and run a curio shop in Salem. The sisters can get vibes from items and some of them have clairvoyance. The sister, Harmony, gets drawn to an old dress that shows up at their vintage shop.
After some very confusing, pointless, and stupid conversations that did not endear any of the characters to me, Harmony decides that the dress 'speaks' to her and that she must go to the place that was in her vision.
Turns out that she already knows that place! Convenient right? Anyway, the lead then goes to this castle where she apparently bewitches all the male construction workers because she is just so hot! Like OMG, so hot hot hot! She's a showstopper! Bleh!
Having to read about Harmony's 'goddess' good looks was nauseating! And of course, the person who is having work done on the castle is this dark, brooding man. His name is King, and he is apparently too sexy for his shirt.
The 'plot' in this is just pathetic and juvenile. Not to mention that it is completely overridden by all the lustful gazes they pass back and forth. I can't remember what page it started to happen on, but nearly all the pages are stuffed with how Harmony and King want to rip each others clothes off.
They have known one another for about 5min and already want to do that? Harmony seems to be a bit of a ho, and she also seems to be rather proud of that. Wanting and willing to jump a guys bones after knowing him for a few minutes doesn't give me the best impression of her.
Then again, what should I expect from a book called 'Sex and the Psychic Witch'. Truthfully, I was hoping for something fun to read. I wanted light romantic comedy. What I got was obnoxious characters trying to be witty.
Basically this is like a softcore porn movie put into book form. The author tried to make an engaging plot even though it feels completely pointless and is put on the back burner. No thank you! I can't take anymore torture. Stay away from this book! It's garbage.
This book introduces the Cartwright sisters-Harmony, Destiny and Storm-triplets and long lost sisters to Victoria Cartwright the main character in The Scot, The Witch and the Wardrobe. Unlike their sister Victoria, these ladies embrace their witchy ways.
This book is about Harmony. She is able to read objects and get information about their owners from objects. This leads her to a haunted castle that is being renovated. The workers can't get there job done with the spooky happenings and Harmony feels compelled to get involved. She takes a job keeping the ghost quite and a romance ensues with the owner of the house (Not the ghost) and with the power of three (the other sisters get involved) they overcome the ghosty problem and live happily ever after.
I find this series cute and there are pretty good sex scenes. It's not a deep thinkier series - which is probabaly a du. Just fun, light, sexy reading.
You may have read the accidental witch series first, the last book had some pretty big leaders to this series. If you don't mind a little plot with your sex, you'll love these books. Scenes are very repetitive and the story very predictible. The reason I read it. It was bought as a complete series [along with the accidental witch series] off a reliable friend [who, I've recently found, really likes the 'hot' books, not the 'plot' books] :) we're still friends, I just ignore the majority of her recommendations.
Book one of the series involving the Cartwright Triplets. Originally introduced in the book, "The Scot, The Witch and the Wardrobe"

Boo this book sucked!! I wanted a paranormal romance since the book I went into get wasn't there so I found this one. I trudged through the book thinking it had to get better but it never did. I think this is part of a series but I never bothered to find out because this was just so horrible. Ack...I was left a little more stupid from reading this.
DNF...I've tried to like this book since I loved her Vintage Magic series. However, I just cant. I can't connect to the main characters. She is too flighty and he is too overbearing and demeaning. There is too much emphasis on sex straight away. I have too many books on my TBR pile to focus on something I don't really like.
This book was a big disappointment. I have never yelled at characters in a novel while reading until now. The H/H interaction was horrible, the plot was weak. It was a frustrating, tedious read and I gave up.
I was a little disappointed in this one. the three that came before it were cute and sexy- this one was just.... well.... blah. The character were sassy, but the story a little weak. Read the first three Annete Blairs and stop there...
This book is only ok. I think it would have been better if the author hadn't tried so hard to be funny. Sometimes the writing is confusing and you have to go back reread sentences just to discern what is going on .
I don't think I really enjoyed this until the girl and her daughter showed up, about 2/3 of the way through. Something about the writing just seemed off-putting. Not bad at the end, and I have the next in the series so I'll give it a try.
This book was awful. I was going to do a review including some of the stupidest quotes (something about the sea drowning them like a maniacal mother smothering a baby with a pillow, for example), but it's not worth my time. Suffice it to sat, never again.
Was not impressed by the writing style; too verbose and dialouge heavy. The storyline may have had potential, but it was forced. My stubborness and refusal to give up on a book was the only reason I finished it. Glad this was just a random e-book from the library; I would never buy it.
This book for me was more of a 2.5 star rating. I think that the author spent more time describing the x-rated sex scenes than the actual story. I will more than likely give the author another chance just because of the paranormal side of things
So I actually ended up really liking this book. I'll start the second book in the trilogy tomorrow, but I really hope the phrase "man brain" is kept to a minimum in that one. I am sad to report that the mystery of Dracula and the yard sale from chapter one was not revealed.
There could have been a good story there if there was a lot LESS sex. I hadn't read a romance novel in years and was totally shocked as to what is now sporting that genre term.
Didn't finish. The concept was sound, but the cutesy tone and internal dialogs just didn't work for me. I don't remember the author doing that in the other books of hers I'd read.
I finished it. It got better as it went along. I was determined not to add another title to my "could not finish" shelf. Not a good choice as a first read by this author.
