The Pemberley Chronicles #7

Postscript from Pemberley

Rate this book
An unconventional newcomer brings the threat of scandal to Pemberley

Kate O'Hare is not a typical Victorian woman. Her intelligence, vivacity, and beauty captivate all those around her, including the young and handsome Darcy Gardiner. But she cares more about science than about dresses, and her unusual behavior makes her a fresh and interesting addition to the Pemberley estate.

Until her association with scientific controversies of the day and dark secrets from her past put her and all her newfound friends in harm's way. Will Kate's involvement in the public world, where many believe a woman doesn't belong, bring scandal to Pemberley? Or will her charm and wit be enough to banish the shadows of her past and hold on to Darcy Gardiner?

This is the seventh in the bestselling Jane Austen sequel series The Pemberley Chronicles from Rebecca Ann Collins."

Such a delightful book, worth any number of re-reads. Romance, mystery, glimpses of politics and the development of education. Altogether an highly enjoyable work of social history. Ms Collins is certainly in my list of favourite authors and I think Jane Austen would be very proud of the way Ms Collins has developed the characters she created and continued the comedy of manners.

This book is probably one of my favorites in the whole series because it hooks you instantly and ends happily but with a slight cliffhanger!! There are kind of two storylines, the main one and one that fades into the background sometimes, but the end result is that the book is never boring. I hope the next one is as good!

Yet another utterly wonderful story from Ms. Collins. Twists and turns abound in this particular volume. I absolutely love Kate O'Hare, she seems like the kind of person I would have been friends with. Darcy and Julian are both incredible characters who seem to jump off the page in this book; it's actually hard to remember, at times, that they're fictional! Such a splendid series! I can't believe it's almost over.

Postscript from Pemberley is just as good as its earlier companion novels by Ms Collins.

I love that PfP follows Julian Darcy and Darcy Gardiner, two younger members of the Pemberley family. I really like how it follows both these young men as they find their places in the world.

I do love Darcy G.. I'm so pleased that the author decided to re address him as a character. I truely love that she gave us a female character with a checkered past...Kate was a fabulous addition to the line.

Could not bring myself to finish this book. While I love the idea of revisiting well lived P&P characters as well as meeting new made-up ones, I find her writing style tedious and lacking the wit and vivacity that was so Jane Austen.

I have read and re-read this whole series more times than I can count, sometimes starting at the beginning again when I reach the end
