Magic Steampunk Pirate Booty

Surrender the booty...

When Jordan Threat falls into a glowing whirlpool in the Bermuda Triangle, he wakes up on a tropical beach in another world. A world where pirates still rule the seas with tall-masted galleons and blood-slicked cutlasses. And it isn’t long before Jordan spills some blood himself, rescuing a gorgeous, blue-skinned sea nymph from the barbarous cutthroats.

The pirates have kidnapped this world’s most powerful supernatural beings, and this long-legged, scantily clad magical warrior must set them free. And she can’t do it alone. But after Jordan agrees to help her, he also rescues a spunky little redhead with an hourglass figure and a passion for steampunk machinery.

Sparks fly when the girls meet. The engineer has a deep distrust for magic, and the nymph has a gills-deep grudge against technology. But they each have a personal score to settle with the pirates. And they both have the hots for Jordan…

Can this rag-tag team of lusty misfits defeat the pirates and prevent a magical apocalypse? Can Jordan convince the girls to kiss and make up, using nothing but his rugged charm and his enormous… negotiation skills? Whatever happens, one thing is for sure. Jordan Threat is going to enjoy this strange new world of Magic Steampunk Pirate Booty.

Magic Steampunk Pirate Booty contains explicit descriptions of consensual sexual activity between a man and multiple beautiful women. If that gets your rigging in a knot, ye best set sail for another port, matey.

YIKES!
DNF in 3%
Hackneyed dialog, ham handed emotional manipulation, clechés, and a general feeling of low effort.
I'm guessing this is supposed to be a 'light novel' but this is bad even for that low bar.
(Honestly, I'm more surprised that every book with a big boobied pirate elf on the cover isn't this bad. I've gotten very lucky picking books by the cover art up till now)

This is fun! It's a good adventure with some titillation, and it's a good tale.

I hate the MC with unimaginable passion. He is an idiot and completely incompetent. He literally said he was going to kill the villian and then proceeded to threaten her 3 time and literally gave up every chase to kill her only to her his ass kicked after ever threat. I was rooting for the villian to kill him just to end his stupidity and incompetence.

Also it fells like the auther spend touch time explain everything that's happening but doesn't understand scale. Everything is either near instantly happening or the MC is standing there with his thumb up his but for minute on end patiently waiting for the villian to finish what they are doing be for trying to stop them. I get the the auther is going for more comedic action scenes like the Pirates of the Caribbean movies but they come off poorly paced and infuriating, at least to me.

I recently saw that a village idiot who whilst abusing a trans female essayist, complain to her that I listed channels with trans female creators. Ah, to be such a blissfully vicious, unselfaware US male. Warning follows. Among the channels which I mention there are archaeologist, cis, socialist, older, Irish, trans, essayist, economist, bi, artist, physicist, model, het, Indian, military historian, communist, gay, tall, miniatures painter, intersex. art historian, book reviewer, asexual, German, redhaired, queer, WOC, boater and other female creators whom the sane refer to as Women. Almost as horrible are the channels which include other POC, anarchist, Danish, neurodivergent, other LGBTQ+, zoologist, ginger, miniatures gamer, military board gamer, Canadian, train enthusiast, chemist, movie critic, science educator, culture critic, philosopher, Estonian, musician, film maker and other creators whom the sane label Human Beings. If the voices are not yet stilled, seek immediate therapy, seek emergency pastoral counselling or apply for the Catholic exorcism soonest. When overwhelmed by thoughts of these clods, I remember the early days interview with the middle age teacher who organised and led her civilian anti-tank team in hunting Russian armour North of Kyiv. With their example how can I not continue. Glory to Ukraine. Glory to the Heroes. Crimea is Ukraine.

When I read several of these harem series by other writers, I did not know that was a subgenre. Accordingly my judgement was flawed because I measured them against my expectations from fantasy and science fiction. I did not have issue with their prose but with the worldbuilding. Given my recent realisation I feel better about these books. Direct labelling of any book is a good thing and a pleasant surprise on Amazon.

I do not question the book's steampunk credentials. The book has the perfect background universe for a male harem fantasy. The male gaze is the theme of the first chapter of the book. The characters at book's start are cardboard, the only real person being the main character. It does serve to provide insight into the main character.

The premise was a nice change of pace but also allow a writer to avoid serious world building. The prose was on point for the story type and far better than many romance fantasies. That is not to say that character depth was given much thought but it really is not needed here.

I did not read very far but I suspect that the book will be a pleasant read, if you are in the mood. As a guilty pleasure, you could certainly do worse. It seems a solid bit of entertainment which seems prepared to deliver exactly what it promises.

I can not guarantee that there will not be cringe, male-female interaction but I suspect that it might not be bad. I was more looking for a serious steampunk story but I did not stay long enough for the book to deliver that.

As a whole, the harem subgenre do seem to be better written than the other Unlimited selections. They seem also better thought out than the romantasy or romance titles beloved of Goodreads.

It was pleasant to be able to write a favourable review for an Amazon selection, science fiction or other. Unlimited caused me to abandon new print offerings in favour of video for the first time. The editor's picks are funny. I smile at the likelihood that any Kindle/Goodreads employee would actually understand the term editor.

I visited YouTube more than three years ago in search of worthwhile science fiction commentary. After discovering those, I found hobbyist, documentary, lifestyle and essayist channels. The most pleasant surprise were the book channels. 😍 These host communities of cosmopolitan, thoughtful readers with varied interests and a love for all bookish things. I promise that they are environments far different to that of Goodreads.

I need another YouTube visit before continuing. This next was brought to you by - Doctor Who/Be Kind -Reality Genre Studios, NCMI, Fiona Hill, Zoe Bee, LuckyBlackCat, Fantasy and World Music by the Fletchers, Cindy's Villa, JOperator Starsky, Maggie Mae Fish, Merphy Napier, The Gaze, The Dadvocate, Lily Simpson, Dungeon Dad, Dark Brandon, Kris Atomic, Verilybitchie, iWriterly, Bobbing Along, Think Ukraine, Discourse Minis, The Closet Historian, Lisa Walton, Evie Lupine, Jay Reed, CreatedIAm, NYTN, Andrewism, Lindsay Nikole, Cindy's Villa, Amie's Literary Empire, ScaredKetchup, Dr Gilbz, Lady Knight the Brave, Jessica Kellgren Fozard, Kozak Siromaha, Skip Intro, Dungeons and Discourse, CoachD, Deerstalker Pictures, SK Media, How to ADHD, Evelyn Wood, Cleo Abram, Adastra, Amie's Literary Empire,WokeGardener, Tardis Central, Climate Town, Adam Something, JK Visions, Kanal 13, Tom Nicholas, Naughty Nana DUZ, Shades of Orange, Alizee, Diem25, Hysteria, Brief Brain Snacks, Cambrian Chronicles, Military History Visualised, Ukraine: The Latest, A Cup of Nicole, No Justice, Silicon Curtain, Novara Media, Times Radio, Eugenia from Ukraine, Potential History, Kyiv Independent, Ukraine Calling, Your True Shelf, The Nonsense-Free Editor, Valhalla Drums, Changing Climate, Stevie Emerson, The Researcher, Ukraine Matters, Lily Simpson, Kyiv Post, Delamer, Tabithaspeakspolitics, Kings and Generals. Xiran Jay Zhao, The Red Viburnam Song, The New Enlightenment with Ashley, Verilybitchie, Morgan Foley, Chasing Oz, Sidney Morss, Katy Montgomerie, Tanya Fiona, Miranda Mills, The Welsh Viking.

Consider treating this as a potentially hostile site. 🤔

Goodreads discourse does not exist. As example, three to four years ago I originally wrote a mildly negative review of Powers of the Earth, a juvenile, poorly written salute to the future sociopathic January 6, 2021 hero by Travis Corcoran. He self-described as libertarian and vocal advocate for the return of chattel slavery (a popular US stance), US veteran, an employee of an unnamed US agency and supporter of Putin ((another popular US stance).

He took exception to my opinion of the storyline, which is limited to a twit enlisting the military to overthrow the US government in order that he not pay inheritance taxes. I found it to be dangerous and unhealthy. He and six fellow patriots spent a year demanding a response to increasingly unhinged comments, involving the societal benefits of slavery among other positions. I was told that I was a narcissist for failure to engage. I am a communist and not a fan of layers of irony.

Finally Claes Rees Jr aka cgr710 now ka Clayton R Jesse Jr wrote a final comment in which he declared that They had "won" (?). I discovered that They had for more than a year deluged channels which I mentioned with vile sexual and racist comments and it continues still. The essayist, astrophysicist, model builder, pensioner and the many other female creators were not impressed. However They did succeed in delivering a perfect self-portrait of the Snowflake (vicious middle class US man-child) to a broad multinational audience, as well as needlessly adding to the world's overabundance of ugliness. This was apparently Victory. USA, Yay ?? Goodreads, Yay ??

The example above is not the only attack cloud which I have seen directed against myself or other readers. I am not certain that it was the most extreme even. I have over two years paid attention to US YouTube political channels as a result of Goodreads member comments directed to myself and others. I now understand exactly what these US patriots are.

Another visit to the YouTube is needed. This last is made possible by the channels Doctor Who/Cruel or Cowardly - Storyscape Studios, Gingers are Black, NCMI, Nikki Howard, Fiona Hill, Mediocre Medievalist, Keith Edwards, Politics Girl, JimmyTheGiant, FAFO, Mercado Media, IL Neige, Keffals, Jen the Librarian, The Amazing Lucas, Amadeus Quartet Artur Rehi, Lore Reloaded, legendary Tactics, Elisabeth Wheatley, Ember Green, Lydia Loves Timelines, Auditu Laudis, Ren Rants, The Grungeon Master, A Very Casual Librarian, Spacedock, Hello Future Me, Planet D, Queen Penguin, Bernadette Banner, Your True Shelf, History with Kayleigh, Gutsick Gibbon, The Nonsense-Free Editor, Lily Jay, Veritas et Caritas, Guard the Leaf, The Military Show, Professor Tim Wilson, Inside Russia, Ndagire Reacts, Leeja Miller, Leena Norms, Delamer, Patrick(H)Willem, Gingers are Black, Jason Jay Smart, Paul Warburg, Nerdy Kathi, Claus Kellerman POV, Purple Sweater Parkrose Permaculture, FAFO, Harbo Wholmes, Insights from Ukraine, Yarmak, Gary's Economics, Sci-fi Scavenger, The Interesting Times, Sci-fi Odyssey, Brenna Perez, Monte Mader, The Vintage Space, .Kat Blacque, Dr Mayim Bialik, Belle of the Ranch, Mallen Baker, The Karen Hunter Show, Lumber Capital Log Yard, CTV News, Cimnanya, Literati Medium, Tiffany's Farm, The Canadian Press, Patty Gurdy, Lee Francis, Knitting Cult Lady, Christina Talks, AllShorts, Kat Abughazaleh, Political CUSTARD, Aid Thompsin, Liz Webster, Nikki Carreon, Annamarie Forcino, Stevie Emerson.

Ominous music begins. 😊 The comment gangs are common to and a uniquely Amazon phenomenon, not seen on other reader sites such as Storygraph, Fable and others. BookTubers will address questions regarding their features, limitations, etc. Dislike of a negative review may easily generate attempts at doxxing, stalking (online and IRL), threats and I do not rule out Swatting. They operate across speculative fiction, romance and romantasy with no Amazon acknowledgement of the behaviour.

Mental members are not cautioned. Strangely, reviewers including BookTubers have had reviews removed and threatened with membership removal for "hate speech", when addressing racist, ableist, sexist and other anti-human content. Writers who organise these gangs are not disciplined. No employees have been reported as being dismissed for their roles in these dangerous episodes.

This all occurred before the current US government supported explosion of white supremacist, violently misogynistic and eugenicist expression.

My own threshold experience was the sharing of my limited message history with diseased members following my original Powers review. That was followed by a favour being requested by a US secret clearance holder through Pine Gap Centre of Australian Intelligence to investigate this writer of unpopular reviews. After a failed interrogation of my friend, he was very worried for my safety. After I wrote of the incident in my reviews, all the lurkers, whom I had been not Allowed to remove disappeared, the comments and other harassment were deleted.

Amazon's response or lack thereof is the common corporate reaction, if a customer should have their complaints noticed by others. Recently I received a notice that Kindle would no longer support Goodreads. A relief, removing the icon have made me safe. I wonder if that was only meant for me rather than a new policy, as if Kindle techs are not the Goodreads techs. 😊 I think that Amazon customer service might benefit from improvement.

Recently the seventh EBay ex-employee was sentenced to prison for a months long real world persecution of a British couple, whose small ecommerce channel was deemed unkind to EBay. The seventh ex-employee had been EBay Chief of Global Security or something like. EBay was forced to pay millions of pounds.

There are things to consider when interacting with any US data corporation. Even against that dismal background, Amazon at present probably outplaces Facebook in dangerous lack of controls.

My opinion is that all of the above is now judged acceptable to the US reader and many BookTubers or at best of no concern to themselves.

I suggest precautions using Goodreads/Kindle. Remove any personal information from profile and avoid messaging. Remove the Lurker, those who never post. They are monitors (often for gangs), not admirers. With Goodreads' interesting application of customer page Alteration, the screenshot of the odd, ugly or threatening are quite valuable. These should suffice.

Kindle are a more serious exposure. Do Not use Kindle email, Files, calendar or Contacts. Amazon read all email with neither permission or notice. Do Not "purchase" Amazon ebooks. You own only the device not the download, which Amazon may delete or alter at whim. There are alternative ebook sources and YouTubers to discuss them. Searches on Amazon Silk should be innocuous and non-critical.

If you are possessed of a certain courage, stern responses to writers of the vicious comments do startle and frighten them. Silence only served to embolden these thugs. It is good to not forget that these madmen, both employees and members own no recognisable morality but are cowardly, freedom loving US man-children. For a visual, see videos of MAGA interviews and rallies or Nazi marches, you will be stunned. Tice and Farage are envious. Ominous music ends. 😊

Be safe. May we all enjoy Good Reading! 🤗

When the audiobook just started, I wasn't so sure that I was going love this one. But I actually REALLY enjoyed it. The narrator did a wonderful job! All the characters had their own separate voices and personalities. The audiobook side of this was wonderful. The actual story, the reason I didn't think I would like this as much as I did was because occasionally if gave me the feeling that it was written by a 16 year old, mature kid. But still a kid. lol But I was wrong, mostly. It was a great story! Very original in so many ways. Definitely good enough to see what is going to happen in book 2! I can't wait!

This book is painfully contrived and mediocre at best. The MC is smart and calculating one moment (with low stakes), then suddenly it's like he doesn't think at all (with much higher stakes) and his "genius" girl never has tactical input regardless even though they're supposedly "crew" so it gets tedious fast.

Great narration I wasn't a fan of one of the female characters high pitched voice but that didn't stop me from enjoying this story. I haven't read or listened to many steampunk stories. I liked this one it was entertaining. I enjoyed the puns and inuendos between the characters. Not only is it hot and steamy, it was a bit funny and there is also fighting.

I really don't understand why I enjoyed this book so much. The writing is incredibly juvenile, but also incredibly fun. The characters are hilarious, the world-building is absolutely absurd, and the spicy bits are perfect and hilarious.

Honestly, this book was an experiment to see if I enjoyed this style of book, and I really did enjoy it. I will be continuing this series after this.

Great fun

It's amazing how many things are powered by sex! Although it was the healing that transferred powers! Does the girl have to lose power in the transfer? Maybe power up together!

Ok so this was a bit (very) bizarre. The storyline was good if not a bit out there. The sex scenes were off the charts hot as hell. And to be honest I lost track of who was with who! However it was very entertaining and easy on the brain.

A fun light but hot read about a sailor falling through the Bermuda Triangle into another universe. Lots of hot sex, good vs evil fights, and promotion of democracy, sort of. Really enjoying the otherworldly people and creatures as they are introduced.

a hearty pirate tale with magic and steam thrown in for good measure

A rollicking read with a more than liberal dose of carnal frivolity added.
This is what Pirates of the Caribbean might have been with Fantasy and technology intertwined.
A hearty AYE for this one

omg this was dumb, the author likes to remind you of stuff that happened 3 chapters ago and constantly repeat the same descriptions for secondary sexual features, constantly. MC is the worst, antagonist is predictable. Story is contrite, 2 starts is generous.

This was not really for me, but if you’re more interested in the ‘erotic’ side of books like these, and you don’t mind that the plot’s a bit incoherent, then it might be for you.
