I've heard good things about this book and want to read it to see if it would be a good one to recommend to my patients.

I found the book to be very informative in many different areas. I particularly liked the authors take on aerobic versus anaerobic training and his 180 formula for calculating heart rate zones. I plan to put this to use in my own training, as well as the Maximum Aerobic Function Test (MAF). I believe this will be helpful as I am coming back from two surgeries in the past year. There is also very solid information on nutrition and proper utilization of macronutrients (protein, carbohydrates, fats). The book can get a bit “deep” at times, but I found all of the information to be interesting, and potentially helpful. I would definitely recommend!

Excellent points and discussion. Some outdated information, but overall very good principles to follow.

Good info, didn’t love the way it was presented. The author’s tone was condescending at times, and the “case studies” seemed fabricated.

like the idea of aerobic deficiency syndrome but the majority felt like it was written ~30 years ago
