The harrowing adventures of red-headed heroine Ruby Taylor continue in this murder mystery complete with a frozen corpse, midnight intruders, and an unexpected rescue by lab mice. This sassy Cinderella's in for a crash course on university politics, new love, and what exactly it means to be a genuine Christian.

Sassy Cinderella and the Valiant Vigilante by Sharon Dunn is the second book in the Ruby Taylor Mysteries series.
I was honestly a little disappointed with this book after the first one was so good. Ruby was still her spunky self, but I found the romance (which was about half of the plot) to be annoying.
Wesley felt like a cardboard character, and there was nothing but physical attraction for each other. They are both wondering how they make a long-term relationship work without sleeping with each other before they are married?? It's easier if you're dating them because of their PERSONALITY, not because of their LOOKS. And Ruby is clearly dating him because of his looks. Also, she keeps talking about how hard it is to refrain from kissing when whenever he touches her "little electric charges run up her arm". Oh, come ON.
The mystery was enjoyable. I found Jimmy to be annoying, however. The part of the plot with him in it was confusing. I didn't figure out the criminal, though. I also thought the fact that the murder victim became a Christian before he died was interesting. Celeste was a sweetie.
Overall, the book was fine -- I didn't hate it -- but it would have been way better without all the Wesley. 3.5 stars out of 5.
The book has more twists and turns than a roller coaster. I was captured and had to know what happened. Ruby strikes a cord with anyone struggling with being a "good" Christian. Only Jesus was perfect.
Redheaded Ruby Taylor is back with more adventures in book two of the Ruby Taylor Mystery series. This book is just as entertaining and hilarious as book one. Ruby’s crazy, stubborn wit makes this story as great and intriguing as Ms. Dunn’s awesome title.
Ruby’s education (a master’s degree in literature) finally gets put to good use. She gets hired to teach at the local university when one of the professors dies. But as Ruby begins to look into the mysterious circumstances surrounding his death, the more suspicious things appear. If that wasn’t enough, Ruby has to deal with family issues that inexplicably pop up. Add a dash of romance (or lack thereof), her new faith, a piping hot mocha, and you’ve got Ruby’s quirky life.
Ruby gets herself into even more crazy situations in this novel. It’s fun, fast-paced, and an upbeat read. My kudos to Ms. Dunn. Highly recommended!
This is #2 in the Ruby Taylor Mystery series. It is a Christian Romance Mystery series. Ruby is trying to turn her life around but as a new Christian she is having a hard time trying to live up to her new found faith. We are also introduced to her mother, Wesley (a very handsome police officer who is also trying to live up to his faith and it is very hard for him when Ruby is around), Jimmy who is Ruby's long lost brother. Celeste really won my heart as she became a friend to Ruby as they attempt to share their faith. Mystery and Murder and Relationships make for a good story. I have read #3 and now have to try to find the first in the series.
This is the second book in the Ruby Taylor Mysteries series. I could not get the first so I just read the second. I enjoyed the easy, no sex, no cussing, relaxing reading. I will read more in this series.
Ruby gets herself into even more crazy situations in this book..It's fast-paced, and an upbeat read is an exciting page that kept me guessing until the end. :)
