Donna Hay is an Australian food stylist, author, and magazine editor. Her food, recipes and styling focuses on basic ingredients, simply prepared and beautifully photographed – hallmarks of her work which have set the benchmark for food publishing worldwide and inspired a whole new generation of cooks.
One of the Simple Essential Series--pretty, small, hardback-bound single-subject recipe books with about 60 recipes. The Salads + Vegetable book has all manner of dishes--mains and sides, soups, starters and salads with a focus on vegetables. I think Donna's larger books are better with their variety of recipes but these are attractive little books that would make a great gift--maybe with a salad spinner or bowl, or other veg-friendly kitchen tools.
So far I have made the Green Pea & Basil Soup (easy and tasty--especially with the baby mozzarella on top) (recipe & photos here: http://kahakaikitchen.blogspot.com/20...) and the Mint Pesto that I used on crackers with yogurt cheese and in pasta.(recipe & photos here:(http://kahakaikitchen.blogspot.com/20...) Both recipes are classic Donna Hay--quick, simple and good flavor.
