Stretch your budget and avoid food waste by remixing leftovers into family-favorite weeknight meals with the help of this smart guide to everyday cooking.
Leftovers can be so much more than the sum of their parts. Yesterday’s dinner, last week’s baking experiment, snack drawer remnants, and cheese drawer bits and bobs are all an opportunity to create something new and delicious. And the holidays—they’re a leftovers goldmine! Here We Go Again is dedicated to the recipes your leftovers deserve, whether they're the classics in your rotation, the dishes that maybe didn't hit the spot the first time around, or those last-ditch meal efforts you throw at your kids, only to have half the macaroni still left in the pot. They're also perfect for ingredients that would otherwise be trash-bound—those carrots threatening to go soft, the bunches of kale from the overenthusiastic farmers' market haul, that half a loaf of bread getting harder by the day, the nubbins of cheese that don't seem good for anything other than late-night snacking. Or the dreaded 1 cup of sour cream or buttermilk inevitably left in the back of the fridge from when you made something else with it. Or maybe it's the chicken breasts or steaks you stocked up on when they were on sale and are now sitting in your freezer, waiting for an invitation to be used. And of course, it's all the food staring back at you from your fridge after a holiday meal (and worked way too hard on to throw away!) These are the dishes that we need right now—and in so many ways. We need to get food on the table, every meal, every day. We need to use the food that we have because we don't always know when we'll get to the store or how much we need to make our budget stretch. And above all else we need to take care of ourselves and our families with food that tastes good.
Thanks to Netgalley and Worthy Publishing for access to this Arc in exchange for my honest review.
That is brilliant !! Not only a book full of delicious-looking recipes, but zero waste since we get to use leftovers for the dishes ! I couldn't believe what's in that heavenly chocolate cake !! The photos in there will make anyone drool with hunger yummy !
Beautiful cookbook. Unique and inventive recipes that are supposed to be for leftovers. Certainly makes cooking seem like it could be fun. And Tiffani’s enthusiasm for the kitchen is evident and contagious…. Except I know it won’t work for me. Ha! I am just not a cookbook person. I get catch up in how pretty they are but then I realize how in depth these recipes are, and I am disillusioned. Truly, she talks about how these are recipes make from leftovers or things you’d have already in the house. But then uses brioche and sourdough and Gruyère cheese and beets and I don’t know a bunch of other ingredients that I never have in my house!! I don’t know what these would be leftovers from…but they aren’t from these we typically make, I know that’s for sure. I’m sure someone who loves cooking, like one of my dear friends, would love this book and make all kinds of recipes from it. But it’s just not for me.
**thank you netgalley and worthy publishing for a review copy of this book. My opinions are my own.
Having been a fan of Tiffani Thiessen since her Saved by the Bell and BH90210 days, I was so excited when I learned she had a new cookbook coming out! I’ve watched several seasons of her cooking show, Dinner at Tiffani’s, and I also own her previous cookbook.
Here We Go Again utilizes so many ingredients you may already have in your kitchen for multiple recipes. There are some really unique dishes in this book and everything looks mouthwatering and delicious! I can’t wait to try the Bagel French Onion Soup, Buffalo Chicken Bean Dip and the Cornbread Skillet Sloppy Joes!
I did find the layout of the book slightly confusing, but I think that might be due to the unproofed advanced copy. (Update: I checked against the published copy and that is the case! The released cookbook is beautiful!) The concept of this cookbook is great and I loved reading the blurbs before the recipes. There are so many recipes in here that look to be bursting with flavor and originality, I can see myself using this book as a reference for many family meals!
Thank you so much to NetGalley and the Publisher for gifting me an ARC in exchange for my honest review!
I love a good cookbook & this one is putting a fun spin on traditional recipes. Here We Go Again features ways to reuse, repurpose, and jazz up your leftovers. Not only are there recipes that show us how to use up yesterday's supper, but there are also many that teach the reader how to clean out the fridge...and make something out of, seemingly, nothing! I am admittedly not a very adventurous cook so many of these recipes are new to me. -Bread Salad -Spaghetti Pie - Meatless patty melts
I love that there are a wide variety of bases covered. Appetizers, main courses, dessert, soups, and sides. Many of which feel both healthy and kid friendly. The pictures scattered throughout the book feel as quirky as the recipes do. Thank you to Worthy Publishing- Worthy Books & NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for my honest review. 4 stars.
From various TV shows, including cooking shows, to her IG posts and now having met her in person for a photo op with her new cookbook, I believe she is a genuinely kind and fun person. This cookbook exemplifies that in the pictures of her and her family as well as the blurbs she writes preceding each recipe. I'm excited to dig in and start trying my hand at cooking some of the recipes and I'm not much of a cook!

Stretch your budget and avoid food waste by remixing leftovers into family-favourite weeknight meals with the help of this smart guide to everyday cooking.
I used to date a guy who refused to eat leftovers: I live for leftovers as they are so versatile. (He is still unmarried and living at home at 52 years old so I am sure that his mommy is still making him “new” food every dang day! What is Thanksgiving or Christmas without turkey casserole or soup or copious amounts of potatoes being reheated with some goat cheese and real butter and eaten for days???) Personally, I would buy a bag of all-dressed chips for that cup of sour cream, but that is me 😊
I am a fan of Tiffani’s other cookbook, but I cannot get over wanting to call her Valerie or stop wondering where the Amber in her name went. This book did not disappoint as food waste is such a hot topic right now and this book goes beyond “throw everything in a pot and make soup with it” which seems to be a lot of the suggestions right now for stopping food waste. Great ideas and easy-to-understand recipes mean this book will fly off the shelves – fabulous read.
Got leftovers? Unfortunately most of us do. There are dozens of cookbooks out there with mundane ways to use them up. However, Here We Go Again: Recipes and Inspiration to Level Up Your Leftovers is different. It includes recipes that are unique and use lots of ingredients such as stale crackers and pretzels, veggies, meats and chicken, and other things we always seem to have leftover. The author, Tiffani Thiessen, is an actress and television chef, who obviously likes her food to taste good and be a bit exciting instead of just finding boring ways to use up leftovers that shouldn’t be wasted.
The recipes have fun names, and are appealing, both to adults and children. They are written in standard recipe form with comments at the beginning, followed by a list of ingredients, ending with step-by-step instructions that are easy to understand. Most of the recipes are fairly easy, so both beginning and advanced cooks can turn out picture perfect dishes that nobody will guess are made from leftovers.
Most of the dishes include beautiful photographs, and there are also lots of photos of the author and her family (actresses, it seems like to have their pictures taken and noticed). The dishes are mouthwatering, and the photos make them more appealing. This is actually an excellent cookbook and one that will inspire cooks to use up their leftovers in innovative ways.
All told, leftovers aren’t fun, but this cookbook is.
Special thanks to NetGalley for supplying a review copy of this book.
I grew up on _Saved by the Bell_ and loved Thiessen in both that and _White Collar_, so jumped on her first cookbook, Pull Up A Chair: Recipes from My Family to Yours (made even better because she came to Seattle to promo it and I got to meet her!). So finding out she released another cookbook truly made my day.
The eARC formatting was a bit wonky, so I was hesitant to try the recipes before my "real" copy arrives--definitely looking forward to that! But thankfully, I could still enjoy the photos, note specific recipes to try (read: all of them), and do my own share of reminiscing over leftovers of yesteryear and how they might reenter my menu today.
As a working adult and sole breadwinner, I've learned to appreciate leftovers like I never would have imagined as a kid. I still remember thinking as a child, "Gosh, leftovers? How hard is it to cook something new every day?" ROFL! Let me tell you, childhood self ... very hard. :D Between decision fatigue, cost, time, and effort ... leftovers are amazing. And this cookbook is a great resource to use them up and even in new ways (le gasp) without reinventing the wheel. Love it.
I received an eARC of the book from the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
I'm so thrilled this cookbook is finally out!! I loved Tiffani's first cookbook so I was excited when I heard she was working on a second! I was even more excited to get a digital sneak peak of the book before the release date! The photos are beautiful!! I love the retro feel and the fun photos that go along perfectly with each dish! Everything(like her first cookbook) is easy to find and well organized! I already bought ingredients to make the yummy cotton candy smoothies! I'm already eying the Latke Breakfast Hash to try as well! There's so many others I can't wait to try as well! Being that I have celiac and have to eat gluten free I was glad to see a lot of recipes that could easily be tweaked to make them gluten free if they aren't already. Learning to cook and learning to actually ENJOY cooking is on my to do list and this fun and easy to follow cookbook is making me motivated to do it! Tiffani makes it look easy and fun! As a huge fan of hers since childhood I'm still just in awe of her many talents and coming up with all these fun dishes using leftovers! Pretty Genius! Congrats to Tiffani on another great cookbook!!
The cookbook I've been waiting for! As someone who hates throwing out food (and tries to live a reduce, reuse, recycle life), I am always looking for ways to use that last little bit of some obscure ingredient or find ways to reinvent leftovers. No, seriously--I google things like "what to do with 2 tablespoons of buttermilk pls help!" Enter Here We Go Again, the answer to my repurposing leftovers dreams! Tiffani Thiessen is passionate about what she makes in the kitchen and it shows. As someone who grew up watching Tiffani on Saved by the Bell, this cookbook is full of wonderful nostalgia that's as good for the soul as the recipes themselves are good for the tummy. Leftover pizza is great, but Pizza For Breakfast Sandwiches are *chef's kiss* and better yet, these recipes are overwhelmingly kid-friendly (with a few adult favs thrown in too). Tiffani, I've been a fan since 1989 and I continue to be a fan today.
I love leftovers and repurposing leftovers. It’s how I meal plan for my week. When I heard about this cookbook, “Here We Go Again” by Tiffani Thiessen, I had to have it. It’s all about “leveling up” leftovers and using different ingredients sitting in the fridge or pantry so they don’t go to waste. It’s so awesome! I hate wasting food, especially leftovers and this cookbook is inspired. One of the things that I also really love is how easy she makes it to substitute other foods. For example, we cook with a lot of venison. Her recipes calling for beef or pork work great with venison. I find myself looking at what I have in the fridge that I need to use up and then looking at the cookbook to see what to make for dinner. I’ve made a few of the recipes such as Pizza for Breakfast Sandwiches, Cornbread Skillet Sloppy Joes, No-Frills Frittata, and Stuffed Zucchini Subs. All so good and liked by my kiddos (1.5 years and almost 4 years old). Highly recommend it!
Thank you Worthy Publishing for this ARC. I need to be honest. I am not a skilled cook. Cook books are usually more like art books in my collection that are beautiful to look at but I’ll never use. My speciality is breakfast and melting cheese on something.
Here we go again is fun and accessible. I love the references to her mom’s cooking and the flexibility of the recipes. While there are instructions and ingredients, there are plenty of notes on how to use what’s on hand for you. This book reminds me of Milk Bar Life by Christina Tosi. The 70s design of the book is fun and appealing.
I actually want to use these recipes. The recipes I can't wait to make are: Baked French Toast with Jammy Whip, Saucy Swedish Meatballs, Buffalo Chicken Bean Dip, Hamburger JR VP, Waldorf Chicken Salad Lettuce Cups, All-the-cheeses Spread and Fondue, Trick-or-Treat Fudge, and Thanksgiving Shepard’s Pie.
This is a fun book. I loved the author's tone, and there is a photo for each recipe. The layout is also very fun and retro.
I didn't love all the recipes in here (I don't need to make a sandwich out of my leftover pizza, thanks), but I loved the intent of the book. Most of the recipes I thought of as launching pads - if you had something leftover, reading the recipe would offer some guidance as to what to do with it. If you didn't have the exact seasonings or a few things, I would be comfortable subbing. She mentions her earlier cookbook at minimum 10 times - I get it, you want people to read it, but this shouldn't be an advertising platform.
The desert/drinks chapter was my highlight. Also, the meat chapter - I always have leftover bits of steak or chicken and this gave me some great ideas for stretching them. This isn't a super-healthy book, but it's fun and worth checking out to help up your leftover game.
Love this new cookbook by Tiffani Thiessen...a book solely about reinventing leftovers into new meals, how creative! I’ve already sold a few books to both friends and strangers in mentioning a few of the recipes. My friend was most excited about using the Cotton Candy Smoothie recipe to sneak some healthy cauliflower into her young daughter’s diet. Before Tiffani’s signing event in Long Beach, I was able to sample the lemon polenta flapjacks (tasty and filling) and A Last Pour (bubbly and refreshing) which are both included in Here We Go Again. As a fan of several recipes in her first cookbook, Pull Up a Chair, I now can’t wait to try making the Mean Bean Burgers and Beet Patty Melts from this one. If you want a clever way to spice up your leftovers with easy to find ingredients, definitely purchase this book!
Tiffani’s first book, “Pull Up A Chair,” is one of my favorite cookbooks and a staple in my family’s meals and holidays! So when she announced her long-awaited second book, “Here We Go Again,” I had to get it! I’ve already tried several recipes from it and it is just as good, if not better, than her first. The cheese cracker fried chicken sandwiches are INSANE! The Hamburger Junior VP is also great. There are many more I will be trying soon, including that lemon crusted pork chop! And the chocolate spud cake of course! What’s great about the book is it is full of creative recipes to use up ingredients you already have so things do not go to waste. As a bonus, the book is cleverly written and beautifully styled. The retro designs make it a very fun book to read! Definitely check this one out, and get her first book too! Is it too soon to ask for a third?
This is Tiffani Thiessen's second cookbook, which she wrote during the pandemic. It's an absolute genius idea -- how to use the leftovers that we all have and make them into something wonderful and delicious to eat! This ranges from stale bread and bagels, the dregs of snack bags, the last of the wine bottle, extra pieces of cheese, veggies lingering in the crisper, and small amounts of mayo. She has two young children and a hungry husband who serve as her tasters (and are also included in various photos throughout the book). The book is totally retro -- her outfits, the serving dishes, the decor, and the real emphasis on orange, avocado green, and harvest gold colors! Beautiful photos of virtually all the recipes. I'm definitely going to be trying quite a few of her ideas!
The crumbs at the bottom of the bag, the last sliver in the package, the spoonful from the edges of the can, all SAVED BY THE BE…. BEST COOKBOOK! These collective recipes are a dream come true for anyone looking to be creative in the kitchen while doing your part to minimize food waste. Not only will you want to savor and save each morsel left of every meal just for a chance to redeem it for something new and exciting, but you will also want a link to every single clothing ensemble, shoe selection and jewelry choice featured. (Just saying.)
I showed up for the nostalgia but stayed for the love of all things repurposed. So if turning an extra baked potato into a fudgy chocolate cake makes you smile, oh friend, here we go again.
I’m a big fan of Tiffani’s first cookbook (those pot pies!), so I was excited to buy her second, HERE WE GO AGAIN and I’m glad I did. I appreciate the book’s theme of leftovers and there are unique ideas in here that I’d never thought about before, such as using old baked potatoes for a chocolate cake (which I instantly made — delicious!). I also tried the easy Spaghetti Pie because I couldn’t imagine a second life for cold spaghetti that I would enjoy, but man, it was a crispy delight and I’ll never throw out spaghetti leftovers again. Paging through the photos in HERE WE GO AGAIN is like going to a glam retro dinner party at your cool aunt’s house. This book is a cheerful warm hug from childhood, so I plan on buying additional copies for family holiday gifts this year.
I heard about Tiffani Thiessen’s first cookbook, Pull Up a Chair, from my friend’s Facebook. She loved the cookbook so much, her New Year’s resolution the following year was to make every single recipe in the cookbook. Her writes up about each recipe intrigued me. Her family enjoyed it so much she repeated the exercise the following year too. Still much in love with Tiffani’s recipes she went to a book signing for this new cookbook. After trying the recipes and and wonderful budget stretching ideas and tips I am a huge fan too!
The recipes are killer and the hilarious family photos in the cookbook are a fun addition. Tiffani is someone you want as a friend and neighbor. The block parties would be epic.
This cookbook is rad! I love the concept - taking leftovers and small scraps that would otherwise be thrown out and turning them into new, delicious meals. The book is full of gorgeous photos showcasing both the food and Tiffani’s family in fun retro settings. I’ve already made the Creamy Broccoli Soup with Cheddar “Crackers”, the All-the-Cheeses Spread & Fondue, the Marinated Stuffed Olives, the Squeeky Clean Martini, and the Sour Cream Donuts. I’m not exaggerating when I give each recipe a 10/10 and have already recommended it to friends and my mom! Each recipe was simple to follow and came out delicious. Plus helped clean out the fridge!
The idea behind this book is how to turn small amounts of food (think: a third of a tub of sour cream, leftover taco meat, the bottom of a bag of stale chips) that usually get thrown away into an actual meal. I love this idea! Tiffani's descriptions and stories behind each recipe are fun, as are the artistic and pretty pictures of her and her family. The recipes are unique and original. This is a great cookbook! Just know that if you shy away from processed foods, grains, etc. as I do, you won't find many things out of this book that you will actually cook, or at least nothing that you would add in to your normal meal rotations.
Wow! Loved this book, not just the recipes but the amazing photos! I can't wait to try so many of the recipes, they seem so manageable especially with items you often already have at home. A few I am excited about: cornbread skillet sloppy joes, parmesan ring cacio e pepe, and spaghetti pie! The retro style of this cookbook is amazing, the dishes are beautiful the outfits and photos of the family in funny situations made me smile. This is a great budget friendly cookbook!
I have been waiting for this cookbook. I absolutely LOVE Tiffani Thiessen and enjoyed her last cookbook. This one has some recipes I would pass on but a lot that I can't wait to make!! I absolutely love this cover. The whole book was done so well taking us all back to the 70's and 80's. I also loved that as usual she has her family be pat of something she loves. I definitely recommend this cookbook to people wanting to mix things up.
Thank you NetGalley and Worthy Publishing for allowing me to see this new cookbook in advance for my honest opinion.
Our family already LOVES these amazing recipes in Tiffani's book, and it's only been out a week! Whether it's the butternut squash quesadillas, the cornbread skillet Sloppy Joes, or the Berry-Glazed Sour Cream Doughnuts, there's a recipe in here for every member of the family - from the picky eaters to the foodie connoisseurs - and all Tiffani's recipes help us re-use the leftovers that all too often get thrown in the trash. More than just a great cookbook, it's a way for us all to help the planet and eliminate food waste!
I first noticed this because of Tiffani Thiessen, but I loved the concept of using up leftovers. Our family doesn't mind leftovers, but I don't get creative with them at all. This gives you some ways to use what you have. I feel like her personality comes through, and I always like a cookbook that gives me more than just recipes. Definitely recommend this one. Thank you to Net Galley and Worthy Publishing for a digital ARC of this title in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.
First of all, LOVE TT. She is adorable. Secondly, I love this cookbook. The idea of revamping leftovers has, let's face it, been done before, but she does it in an interesting way.
I am mostly looking forward to making the (I'm So) Stuffed Shells and the Retro Ambrosia Salad.
My family members are generally not fans of leftovers, so I need to add some spark when dealing with what remains after a meal. There were some great tips and tricks in Here We Go Again.
Big thanks to NetGalley and Worthy Publishing for a free copy of the book in exchange for my honest feedback.
