USA TODAY bestselling author Kathryn Springer brings holiday cheer in this festive story about fresh starts and unexpected love blooming on a snow-covered Christmas tree farm.
It's three weeks until Christmas, and Lucy Gable is not in the holiday spirit. She’s the assistant to bestselling romance author Brynn Dixon, who’s been suffering from major burnout. Hoping to reduce Brynn’s stress, Lucy’s organized an intimate book tour—one that includes a charming little Christmas tree farm. And they're still hoping that no one discovers that Lucy was the one who finished writing Brynn’s last book…
But Lucy’s carefully planned book tour is going completely awry. The Christmas tree farm owner is a reluctant host, the fans are going wild for the changes Lucy’s made to the book and Brynn’s adult son—who no one else knows about—is an unexpected (if handsome) distraction. And, as if those challenges aren’t enough, a winter storm at the farm is ensuring that hiding the truth is all but impossible.
Yet somewhere between snowy sleigh rides, a cozy bonfire, caroling and the promise of new love, Lucy is experiencing her first winter wonderland. And Brynn is discovering that it might not be too late to find her own happy ending. With a little courage and a sense of adventure, it might just be the start of whole new chapters for both of them—and an accidentally perfect white Christmas.
Kathryn Springer grew up in a small town in Wisconsin, where her parents published a weekly newspaper. As a child, she spent many hours sitting at her mother’s typewriter, plunking out stories, and credits her parents for instilling in her a love of books – which eventually turned into a desire to tell stories of her own.
After a number of busy years, when she married her college sweetheart and became a stay-at-home mom, Kathryn rediscovered her love for writing. An unexpected snow day from school became the inspiration for a short story, which she submitted to Brio magazine. She went on to publish over a dozen more short stories for Brio, but it wasn’t until her youngest child started school that she decided to pursue her dream to write a book. In August 2004, her Love Inspired® debut novel, Tested by Fire, was published.
Fast forward to today and Kathryn has written over thirty novels. She lives on a lake in northern Wisconsin where she enjoys long walks in the woods and the change of seasons (although sometimes she wishes the "change" between winter and spring didn't last quite so long!) When she isn’t at the computer, you’ll find her spending time with family and friends, paging through cooking magazines or sitting in the sun. A really, really good day includes all three! If you want to know more, follow her blog Table Grace. . .thoughts and musings on living a life with nothing artificial added.
This is a Christmas Romance. I really enjoyed most of this book, and the characters were so great. The farm they ended up at was everything. I did find the middle of this book slowed down the pace, and there were a lot of parts I found to repeat. There were parts of the book I just want the characters to just talk to each other, so they can just stop saying the same things over and over. I did enjoy the Christmas stuff in this book. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.
It was cozy and cute and I totally would’ve given it more stars if the churchy religious references weren’t so heavy in some parts. It just felt unnecessarily put in and didn’t really help the plot, it sort of distracted from it.
CHRISTMAS AT SPRUCE HILL FARM is a slow burn contemporary story that I was pulled in to from the very first page. To be honest, I fell in love with the cover the minute I saw it. I knew I would read it anyway, because I love Kathryn Springer, but the cover really pulled me in. I mean, Christmas and a cute, affectionate dog? Yes please!! What more could you want?🤗 I loved everything about this beautiful story and I’m excited to recommend it to my reading friends. Kathryn Springer always has a way of grabbing her readers and she never lets us go.
CHRISTMAS AT SPRUCE HILL FARM really takes a turn that will have you unable to put this beautiful story down. Lucy has set up a quick book tour to some small towns to help promote Brynn’s book. Then Lucy gets a reals surprise when Brynn’s son shows up at one of the tour stops, a son that no one knows about. Neither one of them trusts the other. The last stop on the book tour is a beautiful tree farm in A small town called Frost. Perfect name right? Neither Lucy or Caleb are looking for a relationship, but they can’t seem to ignore their growing feelings. 💕. CHRISTMAS AT SPRUCE HILL FARM screams Hallmark movie and will make the reader crave hot chocolate.
CHRISTMAS AT SPRUCE HILL FARM is filled with twists and turns and will have the reader staying up way too late one night to finish! I had to know where Kathryn Springer was taking us and what would happen to Lucy and Brynn. I loved Lucy and her family. I really wanted Brynn to get some rest and fight whatever her body was dealing with. There is so much heart in Kathryn’s writing that I’m always left with a huge smile on my face and my heart very happy. All of the characters are very interesting and believable, so much so that I felt as if I’ve known them for a very long time. I love how Kathryn does that to me each and every time.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through Netgalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Christmas at Spruce Hill Farm is a sweet story I very much enjoyed.
Springer has an excellent writing style that brings the story to life and captivates you from the very first sentence. The descriptions are woven in such a way that you feel like you're there and walking through the story with the main characters.
The main characters consist of an author, an author's assistant, a pilot, and a semi-grumpy farm owner. Lucy was my favorite of the four, and I really identified with her. Brynn, Caleb, and David were great too. There is also a cast of secondary characters that will make you laugh. The "Tenacious Three", as I call them, were a riot. I also think it would be sweet to have Grace's story once she's back at the farm.
I also appreciated the faith content. The theme of trusting God completely and not fearing the future, however unpredictable it may be, was touchingly integrated in a natural way.
Content includes: A child born out of wedlock (neither detailed nor painted in a positive light); mentions of a manipulative stepmother; a brief mention of a character falling off the path for a short time. Familial loss and an accident that results in a permanent injury are also mentioned. The romance is tasteful and cute, kisses only (mentioned, not described).
I write this review as someone who is not a major reader of contemporary romance. But this book, with its adorable cover, engaging plot, and lovable characters, is a definite must-read whether or not you're a contemporary romance fan.
So, pick up a copy of Christmas at Spruce Hill Farm, grab a cup of hot chocolate, snuggle beneath a cozy blanket, and enjoy this charming story.
This was an incredibly sweet Christmas romance, and best of all, there’s more than one love story!
Author Brynn has been feeling under the weather, but it’s time for her book tour. Her assistant, Lucy, plans a smaller tour that includes a stop at a Christmas tree farm. But when everything goes sideways, the farm ends up being their only destination. What was supposed to be a trip for just Brynn and Lucy now includes Brynn’s son, Caleb. Lucy isn’t sure what to make of him at first , and her initial impressions aren’t great...
Meanwhile, Brynn is thrown off by David, the Christmas tree farm owner, who seems reluctant to host her and assumes she’ll be too high maintenance for life on the farm. But plans change for everyone. David thought he was ready to move on from the farm, but having Brynn around reminds him of how much he loves it. Still, Brynn has been acting strange… is it burnout, or is something more serious going on?
And then there’s Caleb and Lucy. Forced proximity slowly knocks down their walls, but both of them are keeping secrets. Can they look past first impressions, open up, and imagine a future together?
I loved this! It was so sweet , and what’s better than one romance? Two! And both were equally heartwarming. I’m so glad I got to read this!
I recieved a complimentary copy. This review reflects my honest opinion.

My thoughts: 📱13% 1:14:40 Chapter 7 - This is the most interesting of my books but it's all over the place and couldn't tell you a trope or plot, I'm just waiting it out for now. 📱19% 1:47:21 Chapter 11 - This is nice and a little fun, only stopping because my drive is over. 📱53% 4:52:45 Chapter 25 - This is so good. I will be returning asap. The plot has surfaced.
This is my first novel by this author but 3rd story, and she definitely delivered. I first discovered her through The Year of Brides novella series and she was one I wanted a full novel from so when I saw her among the new releases I jumped at the opportunity. I'm looking forward to reading more from her collection. I appreciate the depth of the storyline, I tried not to spoil anything under Featuring, the story has fantastic reveals.
Recommend to others: Yes! This is more than a cutesy Christmas Romance it is about family, a self-actualization too.
I received a free copy of, Christmas at Spruce Hill Farm, by Kathryn Springer, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Lucy is just not feeling Christmas this year, her boss is burnt out, and just so much going on, like doing a book event at a Christmas tree farm. This story does have a lot going on, but its just so good, I fell in love with Lucy and her family especially Janie. I really liked this Christmas story, so many emotions to go through.
There were some good moments to this book, like I loved the location and some of the relationships were sweet, but it trudged on pretty bad in the middle, so it felt just okay overall.
I would like to note that this isn't just a Christmas novel, but it is very much Christian Fiction, which I think should be mentioned. It felt a little preachy in places.
This is a story with several meaningful and thought-provoking sections. I loved the growth of the characters, the bonds they formed and how each character had something vital to bring to the story. Excellent descriptions that allow the reader to immerse themselves with the story. There are several references to Christian beliefs that I adored, which brought a deeper meaning to the story for me. Never "preachy" and flows well, just be aware in case religion is some sort of trigger for you. I loved the story, loved the characters, and love this author! Highly recommend!
The story is nice, if predictable. The characters are nice, if predictable. If you like Christian storytelling and nice predictable books, this would be a good one. If you don’t, I would skip it.
"An Accidentally Perfect White Christmas" is a heartwarming and enchanting holiday romance that captures the true spirit of Christmas and the magic of new beginnings. The story follows Lucy Gable, the assistant to bestselling romance author Brynn Dixon, who is struggling with burnout. In an effort to reduce Brynn's stress, Lucy organizes a book tour that includes a visit to a charming Christmas tree farm.
However, Lucy's carefully planned tour doesn't go as smoothly as she hoped. The owner of the Christmas tree farm is reluctant to host them, and the fans are enthusiastic about the changes Lucy made to Brynn's book—changes that she secretly completed herself. To add to the complications, Brynn's adult son, who nobody else knows about, becomes an unexpected and handsome distraction.
As the book tour unfolds amidst a winter storm, hiding the truth becomes increasingly challenging. Yet, amidst the chaos, Lucy and Brynn find themselves experiencing the magic of the holiday season. From snowy sleigh rides and cozy bonfires to caroling and the promise of new love, the winter wonderland around them sets the stage for transformation and new beginnings.
"An Accidentally Perfect White Christmas" beautifully portrays the power of Christmas to bring about change, renewal, and love. The characters are well-developed, and readers will find themselves rooting for Lucy and Brynn to find happiness and fulfillment in their lives.
The novel's setting at the Christmas tree farm adds an extra layer of charm to the story, immersing readers in a festive and heartwarming ambiance. The author skillfully weaves themes of love, hope, and the joy of second chances into the narrative, creating a perfect blend of romance and holiday spirit.
Overall, "An Accidentally Perfect White Christmas" is a delightful and uplifting read that celebrates the magic of the holiday season and the power of love to heal and inspire. It is a perfect choice for fans of heartwarming holiday romances and anyone seeking a feel-good story that captures the essence of Christmas.
Brynn Dixon is a best selling romance author, who is suffering from burnout, so much so, that her assistant Lucy Gable, finished her last book. Lucy has planned an intimate book tour for Brynn, visiting small towns to keep the crown low. Towns and businesses applied to host and the next stop is a Christmas Tree Farm. Just before the event, the owner of the farm contacts Lucy to back out. Apparently it was his daughter that applied, not him. He wants to sell the place and move on with his life. Things are falling apart as exuberant fans want more of the character that Lucy added to the series, and Brynn's handsome but unknown son shows up on the tour. With a winter storm looming, romance in the air, and the possible secrets getting out, what is Lucy going to do?
This was a fun story with not one, but two romances happening. We have family drama between a father and daughter, secrets about a son who was given up for adoption, a want-to-be author and more. The characters were wonderful and very likable, even those keeping their secrets. There was lots of Christmas festivities and I enjoyed seeing the relationships between father and daughter as well as mother and son. There is an underlying storyline about a health issue that gets resolved at the end and it is very true to life. The story slowed down a bit in the middle, but that made it a slow burn romance, which I liked. Overall this was an interesting and enjoyable Christmas story with romance, health issues, family relationships, grief, secrets and following your dreams. A great addition to my holiday reading.
The small town of Frost, Wisconsin and a family inn/tree farm is the lovely backdrop for this story. I loved the complexity of the characters and their backstories. Two romances - David/Brynn and Caleb/Lucy - develop slowly and realistically. There's emotion, humor, and faith lived out. The narrative seemed to slow a little in the middle and could have been tighter, but I was caught up from the beginning and thorough enjoyed this story.
This is my first bookby this author and I enjoyed it. I love a good Christmas story and Frost sounds like a great place. This story had a lot of good characters and I enjoyed reading about them. Thank you Netgalley for the advanced copy.
A book encompassing several holiday romances, feel good story set at Christmas time - ready for the Hallmark channel. I found an underlying theme of “fear” shared by the characters. As explained by the Pastor the opposite of fear is not courage but love. Trusting in God love eliminates the fears of the characters.
Kathryn Springer has done a wonderful job with Christmas at Spruce Hill Farm! I was hooked from the first page. It is a heartwarming story with Christmas Cheer and romance thrown in. What can happen when two people are thrown together at the most magical time of the year? Here you find out what happens between Lucy and Caleb (Brynn's son, who no one knows about!) when neither is looking for love or a relationship but ends up with all the feels anyway. With so many twists and turns (the book tour, winter storm, reluctant farm owner...), the reader won't be able to put the book down! All the characters are wonderfully written and brought to life. This is a definite must read!
This charming Christmas story will put you in the Christmas spirit. A dreamy, storybook hero will come to life in the flesh. Lucy Gable is an assistant to a best selling author, Brynn Dixon. Lucy has set up a small book tour to some small towns to help promote Brynn's book. It seems everything that can possibly go wrong is going wrong. To make matters even worse, Lucy knows a secret. Brynn is not well, but Brynn does not want anyone else to know about her mysterious illness. Then Lucy gets a reals surprise when Brynn's son shows up at one of the tour stops, a son that no one knows about. When he offers to tag along and be their driver to the next stop, Lucy is not a happy lady. Lucy is a fixer. She is a take charge kind of gal. She has order to everything and does not like it when something, or in this case, someone upsets her apple cart. She also has preconceived notices about Caleb. She has made assumptions about Caleb without having all of the facts We know what happens when we assume.
Their last stop is a beautiful tree farm in a tiny town named Frost. They are met by a host who is not in the mood to be a host. David McRae did not want this tour stop at his small bed and breakfast and tree farm, and he makes his disgust about the whole situation known. he is barely civil to them. His daughter wanted this for their farm, and she is not home from college yet. You will see that underneath that gruffness is a man who is brokenhearted and just completely broken. All of these characters need a second chance, and being stuck in this small town that looks like the North Pole seems like the perfect place to be for rest, relaxation, healing and a little romance. This book had some emotional scenes that will bring tears to your eyes. This book was charmingly full of hope with endearing characters and poignant moments that make the Christmas spirit come to life off of the pages. The scenery descriptions are breathtaking from beautiful Christmas trees, horse drawn sleighs, mistletoe and snow everywhere.
Thank you to Harlequin and NetGalley for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Kathryn Springer delivers a heart-warming story of hope in the midst of grief. I loved how she wove together two romances in one complete story set in the idyllic Christmas setting.
The story is full of twists and turns that keep the reader guessing if family relationships will end up stronger by the end of the book. All four of the main characters have rich backstories that instantly draw the reader into the story.
The romance unfolds sweetly, and we are fortunate to read about two different generations falling in love. This is one of the best books I’ve read all year.
I strongly recommend this book to fans of Christian romance and Christmas romance. Grab your hot cocoa and curly up in front of the fireplace for this one.
Genre: Contemporary Christian Romance, Clean Romance, Christmas Romance Location: Wisconsin Romance: Very clean. Light kissing. Faith: All four characters seek to honor God and ask for his guidance. I love that the author included the Christmas story from the gospel of Luke.
Disclaimer: I requested and received an advanced copy of this book courtesy of Harlequin Publishers through NetGalley. I was not required to give a favorable review. All opinions are my own.
A new author for me and I thoroughly enjoyed this delightful holiday story. Brynn, an author, is struggling with medical issues. Lucy, her assistant, covers for her on the latest book tour. When Brynn's son Caleb , who no one knows about, appears to spend the holiday with his mother, all bets are off in controlling the situation.
One calamity after another affects the book tour. A crotchety grump of an innkeeper, David, surprises everyone. The secret son , Caleb, reveals his intuitive nature in uncovering secrets, and Lucy comes to terms with her writing skills.
The small town setting and townspeople rally around Bryan and Lucy . All in all, an uplifting book that I'm hoping is part of a new series. Loved the setting, characters and storyline!
Although I received a free ARC ebook from the publisher and Net Galley, all opinions are my honest feedback.
This is the first time I have read this author and I really loved this book. These characters, Brynn, Lucy, Caleb, David and Gracie were a great combination. Christmas at Spruce Hill Farm is a story of Christmas as it should be and that is family and caring about people. Community working together. A VERY GOOD READ
This is such a charming story of how lives intertwine at a certain time for reasons we may not know or understand. Following along a couple storylines, this one is full of tense feelings, dealing through some tough conversations, and bringing out the Christmas spirit in the humbugs!

The story got my attention by the cover and title. When I found out it was about a Christmas Book Tour- I was on board!
Story starts with the promotion of the book “Meet me Under the Mistletoe” by bestselling romance author Brynn Dixon and the ‘Mistletoe Book Tour” begins!
Author Brynn Dixon has not been feeling well. Her doctor ordered many test but states they don’t show anything series and her symptoms seem to be stress related. She needs to finish the book but just isn’t up to it but tells her assistant and very capable assist Lucy Gable to finish
Lucy knows she isn’t a writer but is a mystery book reader so does write the last five chapters adding some mystery as well as a new character – bad boy handsome Trace Hunter, Little did she know that but readers love Trace and want more. Thus the book tour begins!
As the tour makes is way during the Christmas season through small towns. When a snow storm cripples the small villages with no power as well as roads closed one of the stops has to be cancelled. The tour moves to the town of Frost which is the next stop but a week early. In addition to the tour changing route Lucy gets a surprise when Brynn’s son Caleb shows up. Lucy was not aware that Brynn had a son.
Brynn, Lucy and Caleb arrive at Spring Hill Farms B&B which is run by retired military David McCray and his college age daughter Grace. Grace is current at college and is a good student but also a romance reader fan. Grace entered the Book Tour contest for Frost to be one of the stops on the books tour and. of course, won. Grace’s parents inherited the tree farm many years ago when her mother Lynette’s parents retired and moved to a warmer climate. Lynette has an idea of incorporating a B&B to the tree farm as husband David is a great hand man and she is a great hostess as well as cook/baker. However when she died in an auto accident David has lost all interested in the tree farm and B&B and wants to sell it. The town of Frost has an annual Christmas Festival with horse drawn sleigh ride, bon fires, games and yes love!
