1. They got Jean and Louise's hair colors backwards. Jean is the blonde and Louise is the brunette. Did they not bother actually reading any of the Dana Girls books before working on this "graphic novel"? How does a mistake like that even happen? On top of that, they are not characterized accurately.
2. Every character looks terrible. The artwork is cheap and hideous.
3. There are so many art continuity errors, with characters switching positions from one panel to the next and things like Deidre's shirt changing color. There are also numerous panels where the action is completely unclear and pages where the sequence of events is so abrupt that it's hard to follow.
4. One of the songs Bess, George, and the Dana Girls' friends (whom I don't recall from any of the original books; maybe they were introduced in later installments which I have yet to read?) wrote for their insipid musical mystery in the last book is suddenly being played non-stop on the radio with absolutely no explanation.
5. Nancy's final line makes no sense.
6. There are several grammatical errors, including one in Poe's secret poem.

In short: This is a TERRIBLE book. Nancy Drew deserves better. The Dana Girls deserve better. If you are a fan of either series or both, avoid this book and its predecessor like the plagues they are.

The mystery continues (and gets a bit creepier) in this second part. I'm glad I got to read them in a row without having to wait! I liked the ending with how things turned out. I love that the Dana Girls and Nancy, George and Bess are teamed for this two part mystery. Definitely not stand-alones. Please check out my review, no spoilers, @ Hardy and Drew Mysteries

I know this was a part two, but this had nothing to do with musical theater whatsoever (the reason why I picked up this book). It should have been called “The Poe Peril” or something to that effect. The antagonist being stark raving mad made the “plot” hard to follow, and I altogether believe I wasted 30min of my life on this graphic novel.

The conclusion to the High School Musical Mystery shows Nancy working with the Dana girls to solve more than just the fake mystery and that of Nancy's missing car, but a mystery related to Edgar Allen Poe. It's an interesting read and enjoyable, even if it's not as spectacular as the classic Nancy Drew mysteries.

This is the second in a three-manga story. In the first, a tank that got 200 mpg is found. In this one the tank is being transported on a bullet-train which is then taken over by someone and diverted and nearly crashed.

A lot of the story time is taken up by Nancy's personal nemesis, Diedre, and that does make for some funny moments. It's a fairy decent addition to the storyline.

This and the preceding NDGD Graphic Novel have a clever plot much like an original NDMS (at least in the end) that involves the Dana’s Girls, their chums and their nemesises which involves historical items Including a magazine with an original Poe work.

I've read several versions of Nancy Drew books. I realize I am an adult reading a version meant for young adults. I figured out the mystery about the same time as the characters.
What I didn't know until I had finished the book, is that the Dana Girls were also Carolyn Keene characters.
