Caring for People God's Way presents Christian counseling in a systematic, step-by-step manner that outlines the process as practically as possible. It then applies the process to the most common issues faced by Christian personal and emotional issues, trauma, grief, loss, and suicide.

A great book for those thinking about going into counseling/starting your counseling career. It deals with hard topics but in a information, tactful way.
Recommended 15+ for pretty much all the subjects.
Used with LU Online: Introduction to Christian Counseling.
This is not one of those books you read back to front. You use it as you need it for what you need, like a a manual. It's been very helpful, useful and relevant.
Wow! Just wow! I felt like I was in counseling and I never realized just how much I needed to read this book. There is no one beyond the reach of Christian counseling, and when looked at more carefully, I believe Christian counseling is a core component of discipleship. In the Great Commission, when Jesus commanded his disciples to go into the world and make disciples of all nations, the choice of words here is not an accident. Jesus wasn't merely interested in converts. Salvation is not a one-time choice to follow Christ; rather it is a life-altering decision to be transformed to the image of God's Son. Life is terribly messy and downright destructive, but approaching people through the compassionate understanding of the how and why God made each of us is where the heart of the gospel can do it's greatest work. I started reading this book because I wanted to learn how to help people grow through the struggles in life and draw near to Christ. But I have been the one who was changed. This book cannot be read once or twice. It has answered so many deep questions that I never knew that I was asking. I began reading to help counsel others but I was the one who was counseled. I cannot recommend this book enough!
A compilations of essays on common counseling topics. The stats are twenty years out of date, and doubtless some of the clinical advice needs updating as well. But overall, a helpful overview. The essay by Diane Langberg was the best of the entire book.
A good book on knowing how to help people and combine Christ and modern counselling techniques. They have a more liberal view that I'm comfortable with, but if this helps people, I will support it.
A very good book if you are planning on doing any kind of counseling. This was used in a counseling class I took, and it is an excellent read and resource to have.
This is a great book if you are interesting in the helping ministries. It is written in a way that anyone with an interest in the subject can read and understand it. It is nor only intended for pastors and professional counsellors, but the lay minister and counselor as well. It is a great book on the subject of Christian counseling and is a practical guide for solutions to many of counseling's biggest issues. Tim Clinton is a great man and has several other books on the subject as well as well as many lectures in which one can learn much.
Great depth in both human emotion and in the thinking process. Clear insight into what the bible says in response and thought provoking into how God views things from the lense of mercy and grace.
I just finished this volume for one of my Christian Counseling classes. It is very informative, thorough in pertaining to biblical counseling, and Scriptually based. I think it was an excellent read.
