Tierney Doyle has been in love with firefighter Ronan Kelly from the moment she arrived in Redemption.
Sixteen and pregnant, she saw him as a fantasy—and ten years later he still is. Serving as maid of honor when her sister Siorse married her dream man cut Tierney like a knife—but she knew the fantasy was all she could ever have.
Though her sister has been gone for a while, Tierney still has to keep her feelings—and her secrets—close. Because what Ronan can never know is that she’s not Tierney Doyle.
When shadows of her past start reappearing, Ronan’s protection brings needed safety, but also an unexpected heat. Does he really want her, or is she just the next damsel for him to rescue? When her feelings make him a target, too, will she have to give up everything she’s found to save the people she loves?

This is a Romantic Suspense, and this is the 5th book in the Wildfire Hearts series. I have read and reviewed the first four books in this series. I have to start off by saying the one thing I love in this series in the fire fighting/fire fighters, but this book does not have a lot of fire fighting or the firehouse parts. Also, the firefighter that is one of the main characters we do not get a lot of his point of view. Most of this book is told in the point of view of Tierney. I love the characters in this book, and I really love the storyline. This book as a ton of suspense and action. I just missed the firehouse and the firefighting parts. This is a solid Romantic Suspense with action, suspense, and love mixed together. Great Read. I cannot wait for the next book.
Tierney has had feeling for Ronan as long as she has known him however his marriage to her sister ended those fantasies even if she has since passed away. When he is injured in a car accident she is left wondering if in fact this was no accident at all.
Ronan has been fighting the feelings he has started to develop for his sister in-law but when the secrets of Tierney’s past return with a vengeance will it bring them closer or tear them apart?
Romance and intrigue combine two great characters into a captivating story you won’t be able to put down.
The weakest in the series by far. I had to force myself to finish it because it didn’t make any sense at all. The town is so small that everyone knows everything about everyone, but no one sees the antagonist in town? Even after they know to look for him? And he is so brilliant and stealthy that he can get into the firehouse - multiple times - without being seen by anyone? The neighbour knows that Tierney is being stalked, but trusts the stranger because he is “charming”? Come on. And I won’t even get into the items left on the front step - repeatedly - without anyone ever seeing him? Get a freaking doorbell camera to collect evidence, people! Then they go for the final showdown without bringing help or calling it in, even though the police know about the stalker? And when she shoots, at close range, she misses? And then she leaves for months without a word. So lame. Top all that with a “love” story that is undeveloped and completely non-engaging. I wanted to like the characters, but could not invest in them. They didn’t interact with any other known characters, and their “relationship” was unbelievable. Sorry, but this was a complete miss.
The latest in the Wildfire Hearts series may be the best. Tierney has a past that she's kept hidden from the entire small town of Redemption for a decade, including her sister's widower, Ronan. She knew she couldn't hid forever, but was hoping her luck would last. But, as bad things start to happen all around, she realizes her past has found her. Ronan feels a need to protect his sister-in-law from the problems that are chasing her, and starts to realize it may be more than just caring for his wife's little sister. All the secrets will come out as they spend more time together trying to stay alive and find solutions.
I both didn't want this story to end and couldn't put it down! Every page seemed to hold another unexpected twist and the relationship between the two main characters just seemed so natural. I've loved every book in this series, but Tierney and Ronan are my favorite residents of Redemption, Nebraska so far. Can't wait for more!
3.75 ⭐️ I really enjoy this author, I find her characters delightful, the plot compelling but the reconciliation and suggestion of a HEA being literally the last paragraph is killing me. I’m not going to lie, I love an epilogue but I can live without one, but the last paragraph 🤦🏻♀️. Surely there could be one more paragraph, a page, something. These stories are truly interconnected standalone so it’s not like you even get to see their future in the other stories. With this story it’s bot like it’s a HFN, they have been to hell and back so I trust in their HEA but surely we deserve to see a glimpse of it
If you asked, I would say that I don't prefer romances with so much danger in the mix, but this was so well written. I was instantly drawn into the story and couldn't put it down. Tierney and Ronan have been drawn to each other for years but it's complicated since he's her sisters widower. Little does he know that Tierney has a lot of secrets both about his former wife and about herself. Ronan's about to go on quite the ride as he finally allows himself to fall for Tierney. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Ronan wakes up in the hospital and his late wife’s younger sister is there. Tierney can’t stay away as she’s getting strange texts ad phone calls. She thinks she knows who’s behind it but can’t be sure. She has secrets that she’s keeping. Ronans accident is like her sisters was and with her there could be causing him to be in danger. But she thought he had bern to good for her sister and she’d had a crush on him. But now it could be dangerous to be around him but what does he think? I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I’m really enjoying this series! Romance, angst, suspense, action, characters you’d like to know. Tierney does the best she can with her situation - protecting her son with everything she has. Ronan had a mindset that because he was a firefighter, he could take in anything. He had to come to terms that crazy is out there and coming closer. I couldn’t stop turning pages to find out what would happen. Great story!
I received a free Advance Review Copy of this book and this is my voluntary review.
I'm not normally a fan of romantic suspense, but I can't put down this series! I think what keeps me coming back for more is the way the female characters are smart, competent, and resourceful, even when they are vulnerable and flawed (in other words, human). Even better, the male love interests in these stories aren't threatened by women who are smart, competent, and resourceful. The villain in this one seemed just a little over the top to me, but I still enjoyed the book very much. As long as Savannah keeps writing, I'll keep reading!
Once again I was sucked in with this this author’s incredible talent, and I was caught up in the mystery, suspense, secrets, and romance that this story has to offer. I couldn’t put it down! The characters are richly developed and complex, the storyline is intriguing, and the story flows seamlessly from page to page. Don't miss out on Ronan and Tierney’s story, it’s not one to miss out on. Highly recommend.
Started this book and hated having to put it down in order to go to work. I devoured this book and recommend it for anyone who likes spice with their romance! Tierney is real, or as real as a fictional character can be, and so is Ronan. The characters will come alive and the reader will absolutely love and cheer for these characters right along with them. Savannah Kade doesn't disappoint in this book.
As with the rest of the Wildfire Hearts books, Down in Flames was devoured in a matter of hours. Ronan is battling his love for his late wife with the feelings he's having for Tierney. Tierney has a secret that could be devastating if it gets out. How will they overcome their own obstacles to find love together? I love the small twists thrown into these books that come out of nowhere. Savannah Kade definitely keeps me wanting more... and more... and more!
This story is such a page turner, things are happening but there is no evidence of who is doing them. Tierney thinks she knows but she can't prove it. This story was exciting, frightening, romantic and then frightening again. I enjoyed the characters, the mysteries, the romance and the suspense. This series has been so entertaining.
Wow! This book has the reader hooked from the first page. Savannah has a way of bringing suspense into the story right to the end. You have to keep reading to see what will happen. An awesome read. Looking forward to Talia and Rex’s story.
Loved this book enough that I've re-read the book a couple of times. You get pulled into the character's lives. I loved the couple who took in Tierney as their own. I was indignant over her actual parents. Tierney is a survivor and her accomplishments are something to be proud of.
