John, Paul, George & Ringo minutely traces the meteoric rise of the Beatles from 1960 to 1970, with detailed timelines of their day-to-day activities, fascinating photographs (many exceedingly rare), penetrating biographies of everyone associated with the spread of Beatlemania, and contemporary excerpts from London’s influential Daily Mail . This exhaustive record, which closely follows the four young lads as they rose from Liverpool obscurity to become universally acknowledged titans of pop music, is the most comprehensive account of the history of the Beatles ever published.
A huge coffee table that I read leisurely over two years. Lots of photos and timeline information. I'm a huge Beatles fan so I found it enjoyable and refreshed many memories of beatlemania.
what i really look for in beatles books is good pictures and this book was full of great ones that i hadnt seen before. the timeline is tedious for me because its alot of little snippets to read of specific dates when i just want to read the main pages. plus i dont remember most ot it anyway. it was still good info to have and even though the book wasnt an in depth chronicle of their life stories, i did learn little tidbits that i didnt know. i found one caption error. pretty good for such a big book:)
Great picture selection. Interesting although Beatles buffs will find out little they did not already know . But it is The Beatles and a fun, if heavy (weight ) coffee table top type of book.
