Hannah Coppersmith came to Creede in answer to an ad as a nurse to the local doctor only to find there was no doctor. She’d been tricked and locked up by a man who was taking women to work as calico queens at a saloon. Now freed, she helps as she can those hurt or sick in Creede and the surrounding areas as well as delivering babes as a midwife. Until an angel sends her to a dying Marshal Wheeler, the man she secretly has loved forever. Marshal Wheeler left New York to escape the loss of his one true love to another man. After working with the famous Marshal Nathan Ryder for several years, he’s taken a post in Topaz Colorado with the sole mission of finding out the truth about corrupt sheriff Ketchem and Archie Grady’s illegal activities. Shot in the back and left for dead, he’s found by Hannah Coppersmith who nurses him back to health. Leading to a must marry situation. When a new threat from their past could lead to her death, Henry has to decide if he wants this marriage to be real or if catching a killer is more important than Hannah’s life. Will Hannah’s cantankerous rooster, Bob, allow Henry close enough to prove his love? She’s healed his body, could she be key to healing his heart and soul too?
George McVey always wanted to be a Superhero, sadly no radioactive storms or animals have been a part of his life. One day while spinning a tall tale for his family, some suggested once again that with all his experiences in ministry and his imagination, he should be writing books. This time it was like lightning struck him and he decided why not?
Since then George has been hard at work using his creative imagination and writing several books. He's still adding to his bibliography to this day. You can find them all on his Amazon.com page.
George lives in the wonderful state of Almost Heaven, West Virginia. A few years ago he moved from a single family home to a deluxe apartment in the sky, well the fourth floor anyway. He lives with his wife of thirty years, and a service dog named Daisy Mae. He is visited often by his three children and two grandsons.
I had such a good time with Hannah the Healer, it’s charming with touches of danger, funny with wit and banter, angelic help and one very special rooster that you’re bound to fall in love with. Yes, a rather unique rooster named Bob. If nothing else, that little tidbit should help in your decision to try Hannah the Healer for yourself *grin*
Hannah has been in love with Henry for years. Yet, back when they both lived on the East coast Henry only had eyes and love for her sister. Ester had used Henry with no intent of marrying beneath her station and broken Henry’s heart by marrying a dangerous man. Now they both find themselves in Creede, both adults and very changed lives during the in-between years. With a touch of angelic help, Hannah will save Henry’s life… and in the process make one of her dreams come true. Yet, she wants his heart and as long as Ester has control of his heart nothing that happens between them will be real.
Watching Hannah and Henry face a difficult situation was touching and emotional. There are several villains to loathe, a few surprises and a very satisfying happy ever after ending. I always enjoy meeting up with previous characters and couples from previous stories in a series and we run into a lot of old friends. I enjoyed my time in this world once again… and perhaps my favorite character of all was Bob, the guardian/attack rooster. If you enjoy Western Historical Romance then you’d enjoy this story and the entire Cowboys & Angels series.
I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
Hannah is a nurse in a small town in Creede where she assists Doctor Thomas at the clinic and helps the women in the saloon. Henry fled from New York and took another job to join the Marshal Service and was assigned as Deputy Marshal in Topaz. One night, Hannah is visited by an angel who tells her to save the love of her life on the brink of his death. Through the help of the angel, she was able to treat Henry before the bleeding got worse and When Henry wakes up from his sleep, he is surprised to find out that Hannah is taking care of him. He realizes how gorgeous Hannah has become as a woman, and he admires the way she takes care of his wounds by making sure he drinks the medicine that she gives him. The rooster was the highlight of the story Bob, the rooster, does an excellent job whenever Henry decides to steal any heated kisses from Hannah. To protect her reputation, Henry asks her to marry him as his wife and insists to have a wedding as soon as they can get out of the cabin. I love how Henry cannot get enough of kissing Hannah whenever he has a chance and before the rooster decides to peck him. ["br"]>["br"]>
Hannah has loved Marshal Henry Wheeler for as long as she can remember. They were neighbors in New York City, but Henry was in love with her sister. However her sister was just using him until she married Augustus Rayner, a mean bully. After being humiliated, Henry became a Deputy US Marshal and moved west to New Mexico Territory. He was promoted to US Marshal and moved to Topaz, Colorado, which was a few miles from Creede, where Hannah was a nurse. After Hannah found Henry lying face down on the road she discovered that he’d been shot in the back. With divine help she was able to get Henry to her cabin, where she was able to remove the bullet from Henry’s back and stitch him up. A blizzard kept them from leaving the cabin for a week so they knew that to save Hannah’s reputation they would have to marry. But was Henry ready to marry the sister of his first love? With the help of an angel and a feisty rooster the two will get to discover each other. A person from their past also figures into the events that are happening in Creede, Colorado.
Hero: Henry/marshall -- Heroine: Hannah/nurse Best sub character ever- Bob/guardian rooster Reading Enjoyment:4.9* I immensely enjoyed this love story that made me laughed out loud, freak out over a certain situation , and sigh in relief. Another great story in this series that is filled with humor, love and a little drama. This story that grabbed me and would not let go until the end, it progressed steadily, has well developed characters with witty/humorous dialogue and a well developed plot. This story has a very happy and satisfying HEA . I also loved the technically not an Angel's part in this story, she did not "beat around the bush" of what needed to be done.
Kidnapped twice and a special protection rooster?! Evil still abounds in Creede, but God's light continues to shine!
Author George McVey picks up the tale of pioneer settlements Creede, Topaz and Bachelor in Colorado to share the story of Nurse Hannah and US Marshall Henry Wheeler. They had known each other years previously when living in New York. Now in God's perfect timing they are brought together once again in the West with help from a heavenly being in a life or death situation. Don't miss out on the action as further evidence comes to light about the corruption in Creede while God blesses Hannah & Henry's HEA.
Hannah remembered the words of Henry and she became the nurse she wanted to be. Henry had great teaching from Nathan and he stayed an honorable man. When the situation called for extreme measures he takes it in stride. A great story by one of my favorite authors. Couldn't put it down. I seem to have a hard time putting any of these cowboys and Angel books down.
This western historical romance series is quite interesting in that the characters live in 3 mining communities in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. And the stories are authored by different writers. In this story, Hannah, a nurse who was kidnapped in a previous book takes care of the US Marshall, Henry, who was shot. It's an interesting story with the added dimension of an angel to help.
Story of Hannah and the Marshall. Hannah had a crush on him when she was a teenager in NY and he was courting her older sister. Her sister dumped him for someone else and he came west and became a Marshall. Hannah grew up went to school became a nurse, and came to Creede. The story continues from here. I really enjoyed this story. Very easy read. Standalone
I love Bob. Bob made me smile many times and I really needed that. Hannah is an admirable lady, dedicated to helping. Henry is also dedicated to helping but in a different way.
I enjoyed Hannah and Henry's story. Bob the rooster was a nice touch. As more women find husbands in Creede we also learn more about Archie, one of Creede's biggest villains. I hope I don't have to read 30+ stories before he gets what he deserves.
Another great book in a great series. This one by an author I always enjoy, George H. McVey. I loved that the angel in this one is Penny Ryder and I loved Bob the rooster. I look forward to the next book.
Love the way George H. McVey tells a story. Everyone should have a Bob to protect them. Always like when a couple that knew each other early in life reconnect!!
Henry and Hannah, although unknown to each of them, were supposed to be together. Call it fate? Heavenly supposed to be. In the end there is a happy ending.
Bob the Rooster steals the show! In this story some earlier questions are answered, but more arise. A tidy story about lost love, redemption, and healing.
I loved this book Absolutely . HANNAH THE HEALER, COWBOYS AND ANGELS BOOK #7 BY George H. McVey , Kirsten Osbourne, Jo Noelle .... I recommend teens and up .
The cutest love story. Somehow it has the qualities of respect and sexiness at the same time, which can be difficult. OH and we all need a chicken companion like Bob
