Heroine was a total idiot. She made the decision to leave her marriage, even though she loved him intensely, and she wanted a divorce. Yes it was for a medical issue, but also because she had serious mental issues from her childhood. Her parents should have been punished for the way they treated her and I totally understood why she acted the way she did. But she really annoyed me. I am in love with the hero. I had to wake up my husband and let him know that he was being replaced. I don't think he believed me until I mentioned my flight arrangements, the Maseratti and moving to Italy, and I think he was disappointed but a girls got to do what a girls got to do. He was so hot and i loved how he treated his patients and his wife too, even though she was a moron at times. So goodbye Donny and hello Marco! I am giving him four stars alone and of course my heart. Oh my, I just love Italian heroes.

3 weak stars. A marriage in trouble story that opens two years after the heroine walked out on the hero without giving him a reason. They are both doctors. He's working at a sequel bait medical clinic in Cornwall. She has been in Africa.

It's not spelled out at the beginning, but it's really obvious why she walked out on him. Then she tells a fellow doctor and finally - *finally* - she tells the hero.

It's not a stupid reason , but the way she handles it is stupid.

Hero is yummy. Hands down. SM can write a sexy Italian - and he is great with patients (this is a medical, so we see a lot of them) as well as the heroine. He has the patience of a saint and didn't deserve the silent treatment (for two years!) from the heroine.

I'm glad they patched it up because the hero wanted it. Pity party heroine didn't deserve him or .

No OMs. No OWs. Both celibate during their separation.

My English review

2.5 stars rounded down. The h is 35! h's actions, emotions and her angst suits a young 20s girl who has entered into a marriage without realizing what it entails rather than a mature woman in a committed relationship. I would have given it a much higher rating but for the 35 year old woman who doesn't behave her age. The story actually begins with her breezing in 10 minutes before H's surgery starts to ask for a divorce after 2 years of no communication. Considering she herself is a doctor, she doesn't even respect his and her profession as well. If she wanted her husband to move on, then why not serve the divorce papers through a lawyer and why interrupt the beginning of his day at his office! Seriously she needs to grow into her 35 years.

I found it boring and I was completely able to read into it. I knew what was happening and how the novel would end within the first three chapters. Such a shame.

The Italian's New-Year Marriage Wish

They are married but separated. She has come back to get his signature on the divorce papers. He is not going to let her go easily. She has fertility issues and feels he can move forward with another woman. This story has high emotional angst. Well written by S. Morgan. Well worth the money.

Sarah Morgan writes great romance and while somewhat predictable, I love reading about her European doctors and the women they love.

Typically I'm not a big fan of the 'married couple/lack of communication' scenario, but the more I read this story the more I liked it, until I got to the end. I know this is a romance novel and a HEA ending is expected, but I'm always a little disappointed when the author chooses the easy way to create a happy ending. I'm a fan of Morgan and will read anything she writes, and this book showed her smooth writing style and had a wonderful hero, but it just wasn't one of her best works. However, I'm enjoying the Penhally Bay series.

Happy romance novel sigh. Sarah Morgan could write anything and I’d read it. On the surface, the plot of this novel does not appeal to me - separated husband & wife, secrets (why can’t you people just TALK to each other?!), small town and a shorter format. In Ms. Morgan’s hands this was a rich story, emotional, with a lovely opposites-attract couple. A great shorter read (~140p).

I really really enjoyed this book and wish I had my own Dr Marco Avanti. This is a book that I have read again and again (just had another read of it this week).

It was good. It definitely didn't end how I was expecting and I'm not sure how they're going to do 16 books set in this town.
