After insulting his own family's honor, Arov is bound to serve the Lakin family as their Djinn. Forever.
Albina Lakin is a supernatural art restorer who is quite happy with the road that life has given her. Until the day her grandfather dies and her life is turned upside-down.
He has given Arov one last command, to keep Albina safe no matter what the cost. Arov's freedom will only come when Albina Lakin breathes her last. But what if that is the last thing that he wants?
When a demon begins to hunt Alby, Arov has to make a descicion. His freedom or his lover. Will he make his choice in time?
The world building was great. The situation and the ideas were pretty great but I felt that everything was rushed and nothing much was solved. The problem was still there.
I like the world building so I will read the next book of this series.
Albina grandpa dies and leaves her most of his property including taking care of a djinn, Imaran, who has belonged to everyone in the family for the last 800 years. He's also asked Imaran to take care of and have Albina belong to him in a loving relationship way. Albina feels guilty because Imaran has no choice but to be with the last living member of her family. She finds out the only way to set him free is for him or her to die. She also realizes that she really cares for him and although at first she thought he didn't feel the same way, when she finds out later he does, she admits that she's always wanted him.
Very sweet story. I'm piecemeal with these stories and so I'll read the series as I buy the books I don't already own. Great short story.
