Mad spoofs movie tropes here and this reads like a graphic novel before there was such a thing. All told, four 'old movies' make up the content: a riff on Tarzan, 'Little Miss Wishy Washy', a PI spoof, and a 'rags to riches' dancing gal staring in a new musical. All four made me laugh and the art work is top notch. If you dig old Mads, this is a good one!
I know this is really just a comic book. Maybe you could call it a "graphic novel" before the term existed. It's from 1965, a time when, apparently, you could buy a brand new paperback for just a buck and a quarter. You get 4 stories written in the classic Mad Magazine style, lots of puns and double entendres and plays-on-words. But I thoroughly enjoyed it. Seems like forever since I encountered humor that made me literally laugh out loud, and wasn't obscene. Good, snappy art tops it off, so it's pleasing visually as well as verbally. Quite refreshing.
