Daisy Meadows is the pseudonym used for the four writers of the Rainbow Magic children's series: Narinder Dhami, Sue Bentley, Linda Chapman, and Sue Mongredien. Rainbow Magic features differing groups of fairies as main characters, including the Jewel fairies, Weather fairies, Pet fairies, Petal fairies, and Sporty fairies.
Narinder Dhami was born in Wolverhampton, England on November 15, 1958. She received a degree in English from Birmingham University in 1980. After having taught in primary and secondary schools for several years she began to write full-time. Dhami has published many retellings of popular Disney stories and wrote the Animal Stars and Babes series, the latter about young British girls of Asian origin. She lives in Cambridge, England with her husband and cats.
Sue Bentley was born in Northampton, England. She worked in a library after completing her education and began writing for children once her own began school. Bentley is the author of the Magic Kitten, Magic Puppy, and S Club series and lives in Northamptonshire.
Linda Chapman has written over 50 children's fiction books, including the following series: My Secret Unicorn, Stardust, Not Quite a Mermaid, and Unicorn School. She lives in Leicestershire with her husband and daughters.
Sue Mongredien was born in 1970 and grew up in Nottingham, England. She has published over 100 children's books, including the following series: The Adventures of Captain Pugwash, The Magic Key, Frightful Families, and Oliver Moon. She has also contributed many titles to the Sleepover Club series and written picture books. Mongredien created the Royal Ballet School Diaries under the pen name Alexandra Moss. She lives with her family in Bath, England.
Went into this with different expectations but overall still enjoyed! I was told the goblin would be rude but honestly, Rachel and Kirsty were the rude ones throwing all that disgusting fruit unprompted. Sure, he took the guitar, but like, I don't even think he thought he stole it? I was also let down by their judgement of the goblin-looking man. Quite rude of the girls.
I was expecting to see Jack Frost but honestly I appreciate the suspense, it's giving Firelord Ozai.

I like Ellie because she plays the guitar. I wish I could play the guitar. I wish I were Rachel in these books because in this book, Rachel and Kirsti get to throw rotten fruit at the goblin. It's funny!
this book was soooo good!!!!!!!!!!!!If you love music you love fairy-tales and music and guitars then this is the book for you.Plus the pictures are creative.
Daisy Meadows and her fairies are my childhood. I collected so many in my youth, knowing all the fairies and their importance, and sticking with the two special girls who go to be a part of the magic. Years ago I had to give my beautiful collection away, now still part of my childhood school where little girls are picking their favourite fairies and playing pretend. It's fun to hear stories from my old teachers telling me how over the years so many students have grabbed these books and fallen in love with the tales of two girls, Jack Frost and the fabulous glittering magic that is the fairies. On Christmas last year, my sister surprised me with a boxset of these books, but cause you cannot collect these darlings as easily anymore. I was over the moon! If anyone has a little one who needs a little magic in their life, wants to read and needs a big creation to be hooked on...it is Daisy Meadows!
This is one of my favourites from the Rainbow Magic series. I've commented before on how the second book in the series is sometimes a bit of a lull, but this one definitely isn't. There are some ridiculous moments in this book that had all of us laughing--perhaps a little over the top at times, but it works well. I originally thought that the music fairies series might be a bit repetitive after so many other Rainbow Magic books, but this was a welcome sign that the authors can switch things up and have some new (and fun) ideas.
Kirsty's father is starting his own band, but his electric guitar plays worse because of the goblin who has Ellie the Guitar Fairy's magical guitar. Kirsty, her best friend Rachel, and Ellie follows the goblin, plus a rotten fruit-throwing fight.
Ellie the guitar fairy needs Rachel's and Kirsty's help! The pesky goblins have stolen all of the Music Fairies Magical instalments. Without them, music sounds awful in fairyland and in the human world !
Read this aloud to Keeley in one sitting. I think she liked it fine, though even her attention seemed to be waning occasionally. The plot is so simplistic...
This is the second book of seven in the "Music Fairies" series by the group of authors who go by the name Daisy Meadows. It's a fun series, especially for young girls who are starting to read chapter books. Our oldest is addicted and I am encouraging it since I am confident that these books will help her develop a love for reading! She reads them on her own and will sometimes read aloud to me. I have been reading them along with her (at first I was irritated by them, but now they amuse me and they only take about 5 minutes to read). We will discuss the plots, her favorite parts and what we think will happen later in the series. We've read through several of these series of books and our oldest is determined to read them all. I love it! She slowed down her reading pace for this series over the holidays (more playing and reading Christmas-themed stories), but now that winter break is over, I'm sure she will pick up where she left off!
Rachel and Kristy go for a bike ride and they find a goblin playing an electric guitar. Then, they find Ellie and she says that it was definitely her magical guitar. They follow the goblin to the music store. Ellie uses magic to make a sign that says "Lead Guitarists This Way." The goblin thinks he's a lead guitarist, and he follows the sign. The sign points toward an alley, and in the alley there's a junkyard and the goblin goes into it. Rachel and Kristy throw rotten fruit at the goblin and then Ellie makes banana peels scatter under the goblin's feet. Kristy uses watermelons as bowling balls and when the goblin jumps up to avoid being hit, he lands on the banana peels and slips, letting go of the guitar. Rachel catches the guitar and gives it back to Ellie.
