I made the twins read this aloud to me. They enjoyed reading it and Mama enjoyed the story. Mater fan for life.

Synopsis: "Celebrate the holidays with Lightning McQueen, Mater, Sally, Doc Hudson, and the rest of the cool Cars characters in this brand-new Step 1 reader."

My Review: This was a fun level one book to read during the holidays. The sentences were very simple, though the text wasn't bold enough and often was hard to read over the images. It features the characters from the first Cars movie both setting up for Christmas and participating in popular traditions with a Cars twist. Munchkin prefers Mater and Lightening so didn't really care for the pages that featured the other characters.

This is a good book for beginner readers. It was a nice book for my younger kids to read. I would recommend this book to others. This is also an AR book for anyone who wants to know.

This is a level 1 'ready to read' book... very nicely written three to six words per page along with beautiful illustrations incorporate everyone in Radiator Springs in this story. No 'one' character is a main character for this book which makes it nice too. Also the lines all 'rhyme' from page to page which makes it almost 'singing' as you read it. Just a nice Holiday book to read expressing the caring and giving time of year.

I would have loved it, but something felt a bit off. Not sure what it was. I do think children would adore it though.

I just don't love novels or stories based on children's movies. For the most part, they don't capture the charm of the original, and I find that sad (and disappointing).
