One Wicked Night
A marriage that fell apart... Alicia and Cole drifted apart after 17 years of marriage. They were as opposite as two people could be and felt divorce was the only answer. One wicked night... Giving in to temptation, they share a night of wild passion though never talk about it again and go about their separate lives. A life-changing secret... Alicia is pregnant and Cole is the father, but she decides to keep it a secret and raise the baby on her own. After all, Cole was about to marry another woman! One big problem... They're still deeply in love with each other though stubborn pride and fear keep them from trying again. What will it take to bring this family back together?

Cole and Alicia fell in love at 19 and 17 respectively, got married, Cole joined the military and was stationed away for the next 15 years.
The couple had trouble conceiving and only had twin girls five years earlier.
When Cole retired the two found themselves been virtual strangers with little connection and communication. Alicia thought that a remedy would be another child but when she'd miscarried she initiated a divorce.
Cole objected but in the end he had reluctantly agreed.
A year later Cole was dating a younger woman, Sandy. Two months into the relationship, Cole and Alicia slept together and afterwards went their separate ways without ever discussing it.
The book started two months after that night.
Cole had proposed to his girlfriend. He liked the stability of the marriage.
Alicia found herself pregnant and as Cole gone on with his life, (he was planning his wedding), there was no way she was going to say she was pregnant with his child and ruin his life.
She'd told him instead she was to have a baby and there was no father in the picture.
Alicia was surprised to be invited to the wedding by Cole's fiancee even though the twins were to be flower girls.
While Cole and Sandy were exchanging wedding vows he said "l Cole take you Alicia...".
Sandy tried to correct him but Cole told her he couldn't do this when he didn't really loved her.
Poor bride to be!
The bride fled.
Cole realised he should have talked to Sandy sooner but it didn't hit him until that moment.
After the wedding debacle, Cole and Sandy had a huge fight, she cried, cleaned her staff out and trashed his belongings.
Cole decided to win back his ex wife. He wanted his family back and let Alicia know it. Alicia confessed the baby was his and told him that if he had married Sandy she probably wouldn't have told him.
They both acknowledge they didn't try their best to reconnect after his retirement from the military and try to become friends all over again.
This couple never stopped loving one another and even though they tried to live their lives separately, in the end they couldn't stay away from each other.
They shouldn't have divorce in the first place, all they needed was counselling to help them reconnect after 15 years living mostly apart.

7/3/2023. Oh god I just read this again on accident. I want to hurt myself.
It was just okay and this review is a reflection of my inability to like people who sleep with other people during a separation. They were divorced but he'll he was standing at the Altar to marry another woman when he realized he still loved his wife ex wife that is. And she was an idiot to not tell him she was pregnant with his child. They end up together but I still hate this premise. I can't believe I read it. Luckily it was a short short story.

I hate that he almost married the other woman, and I hated that when life to him about the baby. I guess I didn't realize what this book was really about. I am glad there is an HEA but getting there was awful. I hated reading about a hero that loves another woman. He didn't even want the divorce but he totally moved on in a serious relationship and lived with her. She was 10 years younger to boot. She did have two sexual encounters but she never moved on. No relationships because she was totally in love with the hero. She asked for the divorce after she had a miscarriage. Stupid mistake. He was putting the ring on the other woman fingered he realized He didn't love her. I didn't like that either. He cheated on his girlfriend with the heroine one night. It resulted in pregnancy and she didn't tell him because she thought he loved the other woman. Just a bunch of angst and sadness and two years wasted of their lives.

Typical story of a divorced couple where the man moved on with an younger woman and the woman couldn’t and is still pining and still desperate.
That’s the 2nd book I’ve read this week(1st is the Emergency Contact by Lauren Layne) about a divorced couple where the MMC is moving on, even planning to marry OW while the FMC is just there to be a pathetic pining woman. Why am I still surprised.
The only consolation I have is that Cole after saying Alicia’s name on his wedding vows (like what Ross did in Friends🤣) instead of Sandy (the OW) he was planning to win back Alicia and even didn’t mind and was willing to be the father of her unborn child even though he thought the father was some other guy Alicia had a one night stand with. He was adamant in convincing Alicia that he would also raise the child as his own. It was sweet alright!
Overall enjoyed the writing and angst.

Second chance romance with a little surprise twist.
Alicia and Cole are a divorced couple who share two beautiful little girls. Although Alicia and Cole are no longer together you find out pretty quickly that their relationship ending had nothing to do with them not loving each other. Cole has moved on and has started a relationship with another woman, however, things take an interesting detour one night with Alicia and has lasting consequences unknowingly to Cole.
I loved Alicia and Cole, they had their problems but they never let it affect their children and they did truly still love each other, but their pasts had major issues. Many people might not agree with Alicia's decision, but I did think she made a tough choice and ultimately it was to benefit Cole and not her. She did the best she could in the situation she was in and Cole reacted the way I truly wanted him to even before he learned the truth.

Amazing. I liked all of the characters-not a loser in the bunch. Even Sandy, the almost second wife was mature and practical in realizing the lack of mutual love and passion. The h was no doormat and the H was no bully alpha male with repressed emotions.
I will not review the story as others hav done a great job. I did like that both the h and H had prospered in their careers following their divorce. I liked that they were supportive of each other and their twins. I did have a problem with the h keeping the pregnancy from the H but realized that, for them, this was a demonstration of the depths of her love.
It is rare that a book can keep me on the edge but this one did through the wedding scene. First I was impressed that the h could even attend after the shock of being invited. Anyway, in reading this part the pulse increases, the mind says 'noooooooo' and then there is a relieved exhale.
Smiling, I would recommend this book.

I did enjoyed this book because I like story about secret pregnancy and HEA but there was something in this book that didn't go pretty well. it was the fact that the characters felt older than they were, they were both under the 40 mark. maybe they were married for nearly 2 decades but not elders.
I didn't like that little fact.
but I really like Alicia's character she was all fired up and wanted to give happiness to her ex husband.

A second chance at love is the theme. Here is a divorced couple who have gone on to live apart. He is in a relationship that leads to another marriage. But what happens if they can't get over each other? This is a fast read. Some steamy parts also.

🎭H and ow’s wedding: shades of I, Ross, take thee Rachel….🤡
“I, Colton Miles take you Alicia.” His eyes grew wide and the room was silent for a second before people began coughing and whispering. ” 🤣
Why? Because:
H - Colton
Ow - SANDY - his fiancée
h - ALICIA - his ex wife
🫨🫨🫨🫨
And she’s a NICE ow, for a change

This was a fun read! It proves that you can still be in love with your ex and work through the things that separated you the first time. I liked the fact that they respected each other's life and gave space to sort out their problems. Well done.
