loved this storytime favorite. it's about a worm who needs to find a new home after his apple goes bad. he goes in and out of many other fruits until he happens upon his new home. colors and fruits and disguises - fun!
For my taste, the illustrations skew a little ... simplistic? But this captivated Marzieh, and she ended up reading it several times by herself, as well as asking me to read it three more times :). The story is pretty cute, although the last page itself is a bit of a non-sequitur. Of course I changed the male pronoun to female.
When Ned the worm discovers that his house is rotting around him he goes on a quest to find a new home. Simple text and clear, bright pictures. This book isn't going to blow anyone away by how great it is, but it's a nice story and a solid enjoyable story to use in story time as a group read aloud on an animal, apples, food, or red theme.
Ned the worm loves living in his red apple home, but when it starts to rot, he must find a new house. He tries everything: pears, watermelon, even blueberries, but nothing seems right. This cute little book has an adorable ending, and would be perfect for toddlers or preschoolers.
So a worm named Ted lives in an apple but one day the apple begins to rot, so he moves out in search of another home. He tries living in many different fruits, but none of them work out such as a pear that ends up being too wobbly, then his cherry home creation falls apart, and no one can find him in a kiwi. He then takes a little ride in the sky due to the help of a bird but there was still no place for Ned the worm to live. But Ned ended up falling from a Cherry and as he is floating down on an umbrella he falls into a tree full of....read the book to find out! :) The illustrations in this book were clear, concise and directly related to the book which I highly enjoyed! Little Ned the worm was a cute character to read and I'm glad Kevin Tseng chose to depict Ned as not only a basic drawn worm but a worm that has a smile on his face all the time! Cute smaller details throughout the book add a bit of spontaneity to the story line and Ned's main goal to find a new place to live. This is a great book that I would probably read to kindergartners and maybe 1st graders and on the last page have them all guess what type of tree he ends up landing in!! Overall I enjoyed this book lots!
This book has a very simple and cute message about a worm who loves his home in an apple, but once it turns rotten he simple can’t live there anymore. He ends up going on many adventures in search of a new home. He tries out all different kinds of fruit but nothing is quite like the apple that he loves living in. But, one day when he is trying out life with the cherries he ends up getting carried away with a bird. He goes on a very long journey but when the bird lets him go, he falls right into an orchard of apples. He dives right into an apple and makes his new home and now he makes apple pie almost every night for his friends. This book turned out to be very cute. When picking it up at the library I thought it was going to be a little different. This book is very cartoon-like and has very simple pictures that describe different kinds of fruits. I would definitely read this book to pre-k students or kindergarten. Overall, very cute idea for a book!
So, this worm lives in an apple. One day the apple begins to rot, so he moves out in search of another home. He tries living in many different fruits, but none cut the cake. In the end, he gets another apple home. My main problem with this story is that he is going to have to keep moving from apple to apple forever because all fruit rots eventually! I'm probably reading too much into it. Cute little book.
Ned's is a real homebody. When his apple home, perfect for a worm, begins to rot, he has to start searching for a new house. A pear ends up being too wobbly, his cherry home creation falls apart, and no one can find him in a kiwi. An accidental ride in the sky lands him in an apple tree - what luck! A sweet story about finding your way back to friends and a place to live.
This is one of the best books for toddlers out right now. It just launched, and I'm proud to say I'm lucky enough to publicize it. It has a simple story that both toddlers and adults will appreciate. It's simply cute.
Very cute book about a worm whose apple rots so he searches for a new home. Covers different types of fruits and the idea of home. Girls wanted to read it twice...always a good endorsement for a title.
Cute, cheerful illustrations go perfectly with the lively text of a little worm who has to move when his home in the apple starts to rot. He tries multiple solutions until he finds the perfect new home.
