Kenta sees Karin at work and school, each day serving as a reminder that something about the girl with the oft-bloody nose just isn't right! He's suspicious...and he's not exactly subtle about it. Fearing that he might discover her secret, Karin decides to kill this potential problem--with kindness! She goes out of her way to do all kinds of nice things for him. But when Kenta catches her "feeding" yet again, the gig may be up. So what's a vampire girl to do? Why, take the boy home to meet her parents, of course!

What do I do when I can’t sleep? That’s read the next volume a cute, classic, vampire manga series of course - very on brand !! 🦇🖤 hopefully it’s help pull me out of the reading slump I keep falling into !! I need to catch up with my longer, buddy read, novel lol
Karin's classmate, Kenta Usui, carefully safeguards Karin's secret--that she's a "reverse vampire" who injects blood instead of drinking it! Despite a strange attraction between Kenta and Karin, they remain only friends. One day, Kenta offers his umbrella to China, a young novice sister. Karin convinces herself it's no big deal. Still, she finds the entire scene surprisingly upsetting, and nothing her friend Maki does can console her. Karin watches as Kenta and China get closer and closer while mysterious incidents of arson and attempted kidnappings unfold. What will happen to Karin and Kenta?
Re-read 2021: This was so much fun! Kenta finds out the truth about Karin, we see how Karin got her powers and learn a bit more about them, and there is plenty more. I really enjoyed reading this one, this series is so great. Quite a few more volumes to go, but libraries will be closed until March 15th, so guess I got plenty of time. Haha. XD
---------------
So far it still follows the manga as I remember it. Really good manga volume. :) Can't wait to read more of this manga.
Our favorite Chibi Vampire, Karin, has been found out by Kenta. Her family descends on him. He promises not to tell and she makes a deal with him that she'll make him lunch every day(she was going to anyway).
I freaking LOVER DOVERS her!! Her and her crazy crazy ways!! Her and her out of control OMGing! Her and her NOSE BLEEDS!! Loves her!!
In this book it was all about keeping Kenta (the boy she digs and the son of the mom she chomped on) super happy in high hopes that she won't splurt her blood all over the place.
Since this is the second Book I can spoil this.... Karin is like a reverse vampire and instead of chomping on people she kinda injects her blood into people to make them happy. And her blood type is for super lonley miserable people. When she chow-dows on them they get super happy and energetic. I've decided I want to be Karin's breakfast ;)
So, blah blah blah she makes Kenta happy but he keeps thinking she's either a slut puppy because she's necking with dudes (but she's really chomping on them) or maybe she's just weird or maybe she's a vampire. And so he starts following her and la-de-dah
It's super awesome!
Now, one part I felt kinda what the heckles about was ANJU. Anju is Karin's little sis that isn't vampire age yet but is getting there and carries around dolls that she talks to. In the first book she was super cute and young and sarcastic and I thought that was mega cool. But in the second book she totally looked like she sprouted Sailor Moon boobles and I was all "WHAT ON EARTH"ing her whole transformation. But when they showed her height against someone she was like a super tiny elf.
WHAT?!
But then they said her age was 11 and I could have sworn that ANJU in the first book would have been like 6 or something. I didn't dig that change but oh wells.
AND OMG! ANJU was like an emo girl in this and too smart for her age. Like younger and smarter than KARIN. Maybe even her parents! I didn't get that.
Ren (Karin's hot brother) was like in 5 panels of this book. Super waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas!! I want more!! But he was all like clingy to ANJU which was kinda weird in a FORBIDDEN LOUIE and CLAUDIA sort of way. I was like "WOAH! Do they want each other?!!" It was weird.
Over all the book still was super awesome and I had a blast reading it. There are mondo funny parts sprinkled all throughout and I got way better at reading these funny books backwards. My son would be so proud of me.
I can't wait to read the next one!!
And if any of you know of more books like these please suggest them to me ;) I love love love the humor!!
With it being the official start to spooky season and after already rereading the first book and remembering how much I loved this series as a teenager and discovering I’ve only read half the series, I’ve officially decided to reread this series (at least the first half) and officially finish the series.
In the second volume, both Karin and Kenta find they can’t escape each other. They see each other at work and school, each day serving as a reminder to Kenta that something about our girl Karin with the bloody nose just isn't right! He's suspicious...and he's not exactly subtle about it. Fearing that he might discover her secret, Karin decides to kill this potential problem-with kindness! She figured if she keeps him happy, it will keep him from discovering she’s a vampire and hopefully keep her blood from spiking when she’s near home.
While Karin tries to go out of her way to do all kinds of nice things for him. But when Ken-ta catches her "feeding" yet again on another student, the gig may be up.
And of course, knowing how clumsy Karin is, her family also decides to step in and introduce Kenta to their vampire family in hopes that he keeps their secret and can help watch over Karin during the day so she doesn’t get in too much trouble 😅
I absolutely loved Karin and had funny brood family. I laughed a lot rereading this and love the mixture of romance, occult, and humor perfectly combined.
This volume continues where the first one left off and is hilarious as well as dramatic. If you enjoy vampires and rom coms this one is for you. However in this particular volume there was some fan service (aka not good visuals for anyone younger than 16). Anything other than that is definitely fun for everyone. This really puts the vampire romance trope on its head and also has a unique artstyle that is unlike anything i have ever seen before especially when it comes to drawing the males in this series. Because of these points I have to give this volume a 4.5 out of 5 stars I truly enjoyed this volume and this series and I cannot wait to read the rest!!!
So happy I didn't stop at volume 1! This is an engaging story with fun expressive art! Karin spends the entire book insisting to Kenta that she's not a vampire... and fails to hide that fact to him! Although these vampires don't kill people, they do erase memories. Will Karin's family accept Kenta's knowledge of her vampire nature, or will they erase his memory completely? Must keep reading to find out.
Kenta, the new boy at school finds out what Karin is in this one. Its just as much fun as the last volume - I really like the supporting cast; Kenta's unfortunate mother and Karen's siblings - playboy brother Ren and little sister Anju with her freaky doll - just who is the older sister here?
Sweet and slightly silly vampire rom-com. Nice world building and vampire lore, you could do a lot worse.
The plot starts to pick up with Karin's family getting involved with what is going on in her life and why Usui is becoming increasingly more aware of them. Anju gets so physically invested that she gets sick which is how things settle themselves, and we get to the end where it builds to the rest of the series and the start of actual forming relationships.
I love the story and concept of this but it does have one of my least favorite tropes; the 'wise beyond her years' child who is more mature than the adults trope. Also Karin kind of annoys me to be honest. I like her parents a lot tho. And Kenta is pretty cool. Over all the manga is enjoyable and a fun read though.
Compared to volume one, this volume is much better. I can’t actually remember what happens in this series, but I remember that something goes wrong with Karin….. Can’t wait! (*•̀ᴗ•́*)و ̑̑
