Admittedly like many others here I not a big fan of televangelists, I appreciate their tremendous work in reaching to an audience that would never consider for themselves going face to face with people in a christian church. I do consider alot of their teaching as baby food in the scale of what should a believer should be eating. However coming at low point recently I began reading this book and fed upon every word.

I was surprised and taken back by Joyce Meyor's no nonense, cut and dry approach in her teaching of the true nature of spiritual warfare and the battle that is happening all the time. I was particularly convicted on a number of issues and made aware ( by the Holy Spirit ) of strongholds within me that need to be dealt with. The fact that Joyce puts herself out there by giving examples from her life and ministries of the " many times " that her battles have been lost really edifies her teaching immensely and allows a base for the reader to begin to examine themselves.

Overall I think this book will hold itself as essential reading for christians and particularly new ones in the years to come. The fact that it is already so mass produced that it can be very cheaply bought and yet so powerfully change someone's life ( by the work of the Holy Spirit ) is a testament to Joyce, it is completely grounded in scripture all the way through, my critical mind couldn't fault it while my open were being opened and my soul being fed.

your girl skimmed 😋💅

the only good thing i got out of this book was “think like Jesus“
the rest was regurgitations of things i alr know and messed up theology. so i wasted a good two hours of my life 😋
THANKS DAD 😃

i lost my marbles when she said the top meaningless thing was wisdom. like why the frick are you writing a book abt wisdom if you think it’s stupid? i’m just… idk what to say.
this was a waste of my time.

i can give you a run down of everything in this book in four seconds instead of droning on for over a hundred pages.

your mind is not normal. in fact it is messed up if you think too much, if you wonder too much, if you let your thoughts wander, if you dare to have an imagination (btw it took her four chapter to touch on all that). all of this is the enemy trying to distract you from the Holy Spirit and fill your head with demons (the Holy Spirit doesn’t DO roommates, lady)
ways to combat this are all in the conclusion 😋
literally the entirety of the book was snoozevile of “your head sucks“ and no “let me help with ACTUALLY Biblical advice!“
you could find her advice on a greeting card guarantee it. “think positively“
brother…. what. you’re telling me i read this whole dang book for you to tell me smth i used to have on my shirts in grade school?

no thanks.

pray for me while i read the children’s version bc i have to finish that too to be able to read any real books. THANK YOU DAD 😍🥰

don’t crap yourselves with the utter amazingness of this review 😋

My older sister gave me this book after she had began the Adult version. I was skeptical at first because my mom watches Joyce Meyer on television every once and a while and though I'd never listened to her, I was worried she was going to not be able to connect and write to teens like my sister had hoped.

I was SO wrong. She says exactly what she means and I could connect and understand what she meant!!! It was inspiring to read it -- it makes you want to get out there and DO something!! I'd love to share this book with any teenager that's willing to read it! My younger sister is working on it now.

This book was given to me by my youth pastor at my church. I regularly attend there, and I probably have the best attendance record for Wednesday night in my grade besides maybe her daughter. At the time, I was going through a tough time in my life dealing with some ghosts from my past. Cheryl, my youth pastor, had set me up going to a therapist to try to help me then also gave me this book.

This book is filled with ways to get your way of thinking, and by default your life, in the correct way: positively. I had a negative mindset when I started this book but about 2/3 of the through, it just hit me like a bulldozer hitting an old brick wall. My mindset and attitude changed overnight, literally. I haven't really asked anyone but I think it was really obvious that something had changed. The best part of the book though is in the last chapter. It says "WWJT?", What Would Jesus Think?

At a very difficult point in my life where I was greatly struggling with controlling my mind and not thinking thoughts I did not want in my brain, I decided to give this book a try in hopes that it might have some helpful tips for how to practically "take every thought captive." It turns out that the book was almost entirely geared towards convincing teens that sex out of marriage was a bad idea. Even though there is a need for that kind of instruction, I was supremely annoyed that this book thought that every teen's struggle was believing wrong things about their sexuality. I hoped it might be only the first chapter, but a quick glance at the table of contents and a skim through the book confirmed that in Joyce Meyer's mind, the only relevant mental struggle for teens is rejecting their Christian parents' ideas about sexuality and thinking they can be however they want.

This was disappointing, since I had really hoped for practical help about unrelated struggles, and I also found it offensive and stereotyping that her teen version was all about sex. Of course, if the book were marketed as instruction in sexual wisdom, that would be not be a problem, but instead, it was marketed as "the battlefield in your mind," and that encompasses so much more than cultural ideas of sexuality which many Christian teens reject anyway. Since I did not read the entire book, I cannot give a full and unbiased review, but if you're looking for an all-encompassing, balanced book about how to honor God with your mind in all areas of life, don't bother with this book.

amazing book that i recommend for anyone who is questioning if they are living to their full potential as a teen christian! i really hope that she continues to inspire others with her way of addressing things. it heavily focuses on temptation, and some of the statistics don't really apply in 2020 (especially past march...) but its overall an amazing book that i will re-read from time to time.

"Patience is not the ability to wait. It's the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting.

Writing: 9.5/10
Mrs. Meyer is an amazing author. I'm honestly having a hard time describing her skill (it's so much easier reviewing fiction books).
Her writing's...
Honest?
Life changing?
Believable?
All of the above?

In this book, she tackled various problems that we all have come face to face with; such as our wilderness mentalities, jealousy, stubbornness, and many more important issues related to our mind.
For each of the problems, she was able to find the perfect Bible verse; and when she wrote down examples, she was honest and wasn't afraid to tell us about her own imperfections so that we may better ourselves.
She also managed to open my eyes to the importance of our thoughts, and how the mind really is a constant battlefield; a battlefield which we must fight in vigorously and perseverantly.
She also taught me the importance of meditating on the Word and thinking about what I just read. She showed me that I was reading the Bible wrong all this time and was being lazy and relying too much on other people's revelations.

Her writing also isn't boring or hard to read... In fact, it's like reading a written version of a very long and fluent sermon.

Self-Help Value: 10/10

So far, this is the best self-help book I've ever read.
Reading it will change your life. That is, if you're willing to let it change you.
It will open your eyes to important this and will help you and inspire you to fix your wrongs.
It will also help you become a better Christian.

All in all:
This was a great book; one worth meditating and rereading.
As a professional critic would say:
After this first taste of Mrs. Meyer's writing, I'm hungry for more.

5/5 Stars.

This book will definitely change the way people look at faith and the way you actually look at the world. I fell in love with this book since I saw it on the internet a few weeks ago. The way Meyer takes everything we face in reality, takes us through a thousand examples and proves God's love for every one of us is unbelievable. I hope to be as optimistic as her one day... I can't take anything out of this book and say I didn't like it because it was so authentic and beautiful. I want to make the whole world see what this books holds and how you can be a better person and make others into better people by just winning what I've been trying to win my whole life- a battle. A battle of your mind, because let's face it this whole Earth is a big battlefield and as Joyce says in the introduction "I pray that this book will help you win the battle of your mind- and the battle of your life". I saw it very brave that she could take her own mistakes from her life and put them in this book as a way to teach us what's wrong and what's right... And she also makes the thing I keep repeating over and over in my mind and telling myself and other people- You have to want to change, to want to be different than others even if you're pressured to take the wrong turn you have to stay true to yourself and never give up, very clear. She even ephasis that you have power over and over again- to keep fighting and to never give up in winning the most important battle you'll ever fight because God will always be on your side.

I would recommend.

I bought this book thinking, "Yeah, I'm a Christian teen, this sounds pretty good!" As I was nearing the end of this though, I was slightly confused. This went against some of things that I believe, which is kind of weird because Joyce Meyer is a well-known author. The first half was okay, it talked about struggles that teens face. I have faced some of these struggles with trying to be the perfect role model for my three siblings while also growing up as a teen surrounded with good and bad. The second half was about emotions, and this is where I was confused. I've always been kind of reserved when it comes to talking about my feelings, (unless, of course, we're talking about my feelings on books), and I was hoping this book could maybe explain some ways for me to help express myself. It did the opposite. The section was talking about how we shouldn't let ourselves feel anger and sadness. I understand that I should control my emotions, but how can I not be sad when my favorite book characters die or I get a crappy grade on a science test? These are real emotions that everyone feels. Overall, I give this book 3.5 stars.

When I was in 8th grade I would wake up at 6:30 and go into my mom's room to find her watching Joyce Meyers and I would take my clothes in her room and get ready watching this show. As I got older things happened in my life where I let down on my spiritual life and more on well the not so good life. I regained my spiritual life by reading this book. I often have to refer to it or re-read it over and over. It is a very powerful book, and has answers that no one else can answer, but God and the Bible, which I was led to by this book! All Joyce Meyer books are influential! :)

"Battlefield of the Mind" for Teens was a great book about controlling and preventing our impure thoughts. I would recommend this book to anyone who thinks their mind needs some discipline. If you think that your thoughts aren't as great as they should be, this is the book for you. Joyce Meyer is a great author as well as TV speaker. I LOVE her teachings. I would give "Battlefield of the Mind" a rating of 12/10

Great book for a church group and teens (older teens 14 ish and up) talks about many of those topics some parents would like to keep not mentioned. How God would like us to deal with them. The part I didn't like is it often did a lot of what Joyce (author) felt or what she has experienced in her life. I am cold and callous, but I couldn't care less about her life experiences.

I loved this book. This book reminds me a lot of the Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul Series where teens would read the book whenever they are troubled about something going in school or at. This book helped me think about how i should view life and my life as a whole. The book opened my eyes to new perspectives basically and the author was trying to reach out to people who have fears within themselves. I'll admit it...i have fears too just like everyone else....so Joyce Mayers tries to tackle that fear and adjust it to our own benefit. It was a really deep book...you should read it!

While reading this book I have noticed a positive change in my attitude and view of life. Battlefield of the Mind gives examples of everyday struggles and worries then shows a Godly way to get through the challenges. Joyce Meyer provides her own life experiences as well as experiences of everyday teenagers. She uses scriptures that relate to the topic being discussed in the book at the time. I recommend this book to anyone, not just young people.

Wow. This WILL definetly change the way you think, after reading this I'm more optomistic than before. This book is a MUST! As Joyce Meyer explains her theory of thinking and how the biggest battle we might ever encounter is within our own minds. Me, being a teenager I can say this book doesn't even bore me...if anything it changed me.

This book was a pleasant surprise. I didn't expect it to be that relatable.
Although there was, in my humble opinion, a little bit too much quoting of Bible, Meyer didn't shove religion down reader's throat and actually provided some nice tips for making yourself just a bit happier in life.

This was a great book about how to defend your mind against evil thoughts. There are so many things that harm your mind that you don't even realize are negative. This was a great devotional book. It definitely makes you think about your daily thoughts.

Such great advice for keeping your mind guarded against evil thoughts and desires. Many of the things she mentioned I thought "Pshh I don't have problems with that" only to realize as she explained it that I was struggling in that area of my life. Awesome book, I definitely recommend it!

I'm not a fan of Joyce Meyer, but this was an excellent book. Part 3 of the book, wilderness mentalities, was insightful and helpful. It's not perfect, as there are some points and exegesis that are eh, but definitely worth reading and revisiting.

I loved the language and writing style of the novel. Joyce Meyer unambiguously leveled the line of thought and the everyday type of tumultuous self-conversation that takes place in everyone's mind.
