But the fairies need a mortal to attend the wedding, as this will bring the newlyweds good luck and a happy marriage. So the fairies befriend Sarah Jane, and take her with them to Fairyland. It is the most beautiful place Sarah Jane has ever seen, and the wedding a magical experience she'll never forget.

I used to be obsessed with this storybook when I was 6-7 years old and I’ve been looking for it for aaaages online - today (thanks to a Reddit thread) I finally found it again!

The most gorgeous illustration and such a lovely simple story. Definitely going to try and source it for my own kids to read and marvel at 🥰

A simple and sweet story. But the artwork in Barber's books has always been gorgeous, and the strawberries at the end of this book look so edible haha

The illustrations were amazing! There was so much to look at. The only thing that had be scratching my head was what the heck is this storyline? It’s so weird and random. It really just feels like that circle of mushrooms sent her on a weird drug trip. Anyway, the illustrations really saved the day and the laugh I had thinking about a little girl going on a drug trip because of mushrooms she found in the woods. 😂

Kicsiknek való mese oldalanként 1-2 mondattal, a történet szinte semmi (Sárikát elviszik a tündérek a tündérhercegnő esküvőjére, mert egy emberlány boldogságot hoz). A rajzok emberábrázolása nagyon tetszik, kiskoromban is az ehhez hasonló hercegnőket szerettem nézegetni. Viszont a körítés, a keret, a színek rettenetesen giccses nekem.

As expected from a Shirley Barber book, this was beautiful and magical, with gorgeous illustrations.It feels more like a child’s recount than a story. There’s not much there, no wordy-flesh.

Shirley's books are the most beautiful books I have ever read. I will never give them away. They are so special to me. This one I own and I think it's spectacular. I only own 2 others of her books, 2 from before I started school, this one I got in 2003. Every time I think of shirley's books I cry, they bring back moments when I was so enchanted by these books as a little girl and how happy I was when mum read them for me. One of the only moments I felt truly happy was when mum read me shirley's books and other kids books, but especially shirley's. When I look at them now I can truly appreciate how beautiful they are. I don't think I have ever seen any fairy books quite so beautiful. I have one other fairy book by another author called carol McLean-carr but het fairies look scary, shirley's fairies are warm and kind. To have written such fantastic and beautiful stories, Shirley must have a warm heart herself. I wish I could thank her personally. I used to have jigsaw puzzles of the fairies when I was younger, but they are gone now, which makes me so sad

This book has really pretty pictures and are great bed time stories! I used to enjoy Shirley Barber's Fairy Tales when I was younger and still do! Sarah Jane is such a great character! She was a bit like me when I was little.

Wow! I remembered finding these books absolutely enchanting in childhood. I'm so glad it's still enchanting as an adult.
