Visions of blood and death haunt Richie England. A new serial killer is stalking the city, and Richie finds himself in the middle of a frightening pyschological battle with the killer and the spectres behind the evil. As the detective in charge of the Vivisectionist case, the last thing Julian Anders needs is a damn psychic telling him about visions. When another body is found, Julian is forced to accept Richie's help. The killer has seen Richie, and with his life at stake, both Julian and Richie

I don't get the ending - if there was one. The story starts off fine and I thought I'd landed myself an erotic suspense with my fav character types - cops. Since I do not like paranormals as a rule, I was not pleased when the paranormal stuff started and cluttered up what was pretty good serial killer story up to then.
I didn't mind Richie's psychic gift; it was the addition of those spirit entities that appeared halfway through (or earlier, whatever...) and never dealt with. There was no explanation of how they got there and who sent them. They just stopped appearing as abruptly as they appeared.
The treatment of the serial killer's character is another question mark. It read like any other murder story with the serial killer as the villain but he is suddenly identified and arrested about three quarters of the way and never heard of again! I thought, at the time, that the'd arrested the wrong guy, that it was red herring and the real killer would emerge but no, that was it.
The story ends with Julian witnessing a woman being dragged into an alley, he gives chase but is affected by more paranormal nonsense then he goes home and has sex with Richie. The woman who was being attacked had mysteriously vanished. The book ends like that.
BUT...but it has this "TO BE CONTINUED" at the end so I'm guessing the story hasn't ended and what I bought was only Part 1. There's nothing in the book info that warned me of that, though, but because I dislike all that paranormal, New Age stuff, I won't be buying Part 2 if it exists.
For those that enjoy paranormal activity in their stories, check if there's a Part 2 and buy both to read back-to-back. Julian and Richie are a sweet, happy couple and their romance was without any angst and emotional potholes. They were happy from day one of hooking up.
2050 begins with the potential of being a good, suspenseful book, but tapers off pretty quickly... I didn't like how the authors teased with Julian's former lover then just stopped mentioning him- there seemed to be no resolution in that. That seemed to be the norm for the authors in this book: stilted in plot and be trying to jam everything in, without really reconciling anything. Too many things were thrown into the mix and Julian's motivation's towards Richie were muddled. Then the book just ended, again with nothing resolved.
A psychic and a police detective meet on a serial killer case. The story starts off really interesting but falls apart in the second half. The resolution of the killer was a let down and then replaced with a new paranormal problem that didn't make much sense. The protags are nice and once they admit their feelings it's all 'lovey dovey' with lots of sex and a few emotional tears. Nice story that unfortunately didn't live up to it's promise.
Just could not get into this book. I've kept in my to read folder with the intention to go back and start again. However, there are just too many other voices on my To Read shelf clamoring for attention and I doubt I will go back and revisit this story.
OMG what an boring book that was. Both main character Julian Anders & Richie England are very unattractive as a couple and I was just scrolling true the book.
Started off pretty good(though it should be kept in mind that I am rather forgiving for stories involving cops and psychics falling in love while hunting serial killers). Then the closer to the end of the book we got the more it felt like things were being jammed in (perhaps if some of the overabundance of sex scenes had been trimmed out there might have been room for more explanation of actual story points, but what do I know) as fast as they could before the authors ran out of time/space. I didn't mind when things turned more towards the paranormal, I had an inkling they were headed that way from the first scene with the killer, but I would have liked more explanation. Then suddenly things went strange. All throughout the book Richie doesn't drive - his parents were killed in a car accident. At one point he is even talking with his friend about how he "can't" drive. Yet suddenly Richie is telling Julian he will follow him in his car. Totally FUBAR moment there folks...especially since Richie at one point jokingly tells Julian that if he (Julian) were to become a practitioner of Richie's pagan beliefs, then Richie will start driving again. And at the end of the book Julian is having visions...I think I see where this was headed. But the setup for the next book was...awkward. We have the climax (I'm feeling so juvenile I want to snicker here) of the book, followed by the resolution/marriage and then suddenly there are all these pages after going on about some new case, just sort of out of the blue, then bam! book ends with to be continued...
Still, I had fun with it.

i gave this book 3 stars for about the first half of the story and 1 star for the rest when the shadow things appear, also the bit when they are leaving the crypt (if you ahve already read the book then you know which part i mean) confused me when richie says he will follow julien in his car, but there were several previous mentions that richie doesnt drive!!. so for me the second half of the book dive bombed compared to the first half of the story which i wish could have been longer =}
