Aimed at a young audience, it's a feel good Spidey team up with plenty of cameos and easter eggs for fans to sink their teeth into. There's nothing remotely thought-provoking about the story which goes down the comedy instigated by randomness path instead, but the lack of depth doesn't hurt it too much. It knows its target and does a great job at appealing to those it's made for whilst also being enjoyable for everyone else.

August 2023. Super cute and charming, with silly humor I appreciated. Felt true to Spider-Man while being light and accessible (no need to have read a million other comics about Spider-Man). Graphic novel collection of issues 1-4 of the miniseries.

Thank you Tracy for recommending! I’m definitely going to check out the other couple Double Trouble collections about Venom and Spider-Man, and Thor and Loki, by the same author and illustrator team.

Looks like Sac library has all 3 miniseries!

“Peter Parker & Miles Morales: Spider-Men Double Trouble” by Mariko Tamaki, Vita Ayala, and Gurihiru.

I read the first in the series last year and loved it, so I had to read the sequel! Initially recommended to me by my local shop owner. Borrowed via Hoopla.

Four-issue miniseries about Peter, Miles, and what happens when Take Your Sidekick to Work Day falls on the same day as a supervillain convention (oops). A routine visit to Peter's ill-advised confiscated villain relics storage facility in Gowanus goes wrong and Miles (who wants to be seen as Spider-Man in his own right, and not as a sidekick) and Peter work together to save the day.

Absolutely adorable and a total blast, and I liked this one even better than the first! The humor is dead on and not dumbing down because it's an all ages title (the explanation for the Gowanus warehouse made wheeze), the art is super fun and colorful, and overall just a delight to check in with these characters when this team is handling them.

This was super fun, funny, and epic.

I recommend it greatly. Read Venom Double trouble first sure since it rolls into this one.

The jokes were great.

“How did thanos find us?” “I think he was just here to give his speech.”

“Venom told me I should patent the technology. But I wanted to let people experiment with it. So venom patented it. But he gave me this one for free in exchange for rent!”

I liked the mysterio apprentice. Her design is cool, and she was funny with the disrespect from Spider-Man.

Was just here for gurihiru, but would enjoy it even without it probably.

I forgot at what point I looked it up, but since the first Venom Double Trouble, I’ve wondered when and how this takes place in the marvel universe. With Venom, Spider-Man, and Spider-Gwen all living in the same apartment complex, was my first wonder. Then a whole VILLIAN con exists, plus the weird Spider-Man laboratory area. Villian Con having EVERY VILLAIN ESSENTIALLY JUST HANGING OUT. Just Thanos alone would make this be some Huge Event. But how is it just in this comic?

I… think I just looked up a character? Maybe it was just to confirm if the Gwenpool was real (still think it could either be a cosplayer or a DIFFERENT alternate alternate Gwen), or the mysterio apprentice character, but I found out that the whole comic takes place in a different universe. Which had the first sting of betrayal but makes 100% sense and gives the writer more freedom. And all three double trouble comics takes place here.

And I was very surprised to see that the write of the “I am not Starfire” comic wrote this. Haven’t read that myself but have watch vids. And I guess she can write comedy, pretty well here.

Really cute middle grade comic starring both Peter Parker and Miles Morales. And also Venom, a little bit. There are definitely some easter eggs for readers with more experience with the greater Spider-Man canon, but you really don't need to know any more than you'd get from watching Spider-Verse or probably one of the Disney channel cartoons with the Spider folk. It's a little silly, but not so much an adult reader won't have fun.

All around a fun time! A great mini series to pick up if you don't feel like navigating the vast web of Spider-Man comics that exist out there, plus it's accessible for a younger audience. I had a great time reading it, and the overall tone feels true to the tone of Spider-Man comics in general. Plus the art reflected the tone. Definitely recommend for the younger Spider-Man fans!

Really excellent read for or to you read with younger readers. We liked the Venom series more overall, but it was replete with references and Easter eggs for a seasoned Spidey fan to catch and have fun with for sure!

Definitely aimed at younger readers...
DEFINITELY similar to the 2021 kids series, 'Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends'

This is a cute, quick read that is loaded with a bunch of Marvel universe villain cameos. See if you can name them all

Mostly good fun, but Miles Morales really does feel like just a sidekick by the end

Confusing because it's set in the "double trouble" continuity and they give some of that background at the end to pad out the book.

Pure fun with a visually-pleasing, expressive art style! Shenanigans arise at a villain con, and I love that Miles is very clear and firm that he's not a sidekick. He's his own Spider-Man.
