A good reminder of why I do what I do, and how to be better at it!

Dr. Wis applies modern leadership practices to the role of musical conductor and highlights the ways that conductors and teachers can lead through vision, character, goal-setting, and relationship building! The advice in this book was both practical and inspirational, and certainly makes me excited to get back to school and get to work!

My primary take-away from the book is that in order to use my influence efficiently and effectively, it is vital for me to take the leadership role of my profession and other areas of my life seriously and strive to improve the lives of others through my influence!

If you are a conductor, teacher, or other musical leader, I'd highly recommend this book to you!

This was an excellent book. This would be an excellent book to share with an administrator to help them understand some of the things that a director does that they may not pick up on in an observation. There were many things that I was able to take away and use immediately in my own teaching. I highly recommend this book to any music teacher.

I really enjoyed this book! A lot that I learned from it was very inspiring! She wrote this for conductors in general, but as someone going into education a lot of what she said truly applies to my profession. I will definitely be referring back to this once I have my own choir!

A fine book about conducting and teaching. I plan to read it again a chapter every few days as the school year begins.
