Great ending to the series. It was nice catching up with these characters, finding out what they’ve been up to and getting a glimpse into their future. One last adventure, one last hurrah for Holly, Adam, Evangeline, Harmony, Nick, Meryl, and even Lacey, and others we’ve come to know over the series as they try to help a young witch hybrid while hunting down and crushing a rogue vampire faction. The book was an easy read and it was like saying a warm goodbye to friends. It’s been nice seeing how far Holly and Adam have grown over the series, how close the characters have gotten in their friendships and relationships with each other and now that things are changing, and they’re all moving on to different chapters, they’re still at the core of it all, family.

At the end of a series, like everyone else who is a fan of a series, the feeling is bittersweet. Holly has come a long ways since she came to Beechwood Harbor and the mansion, but another supernatural adventure awaits her and the rest of the beloved characters and it is for all the marbles.

Goodbye's a Witch is the twelfth and final book in the Beechwood Harbor Magic paranormal cozy mysteries series that read best in order.

Newly married and new as B&B owners, Holly and Adam are settling in to their new life. Her potions store is doing well, the inn has guests booked up, and married life is good. But, it wouldn't be familiar if Holly didn't have a few extra brands in the fire. Evangeline is getting set to move out of the mansion to go live with Teddy in San Francisco, the Supernatural Protection Agency has moved the portal to the mansion's grounds and it is glitching, Nick's planning another career change and maybe a move away from Beechwood, and Harmony is freaking out about her Potion Master certification test. Oh, and Holly's magic is suddenly being weird right when a mysterious woman comes through the portal fearing for her life from vampires and SPA at once. Not knowing who are the good guys or bad guys in the flair up of this most recent vampire struggle for power and knowing there is a mole or even more within the SPA, the Beechwood Harbor people are on their own to solve the latest difficulty.

I read this knowing it was the last of the stories with Holly at the center so I was feeling extra nostalgic. I had the reason for her magic glitch figured out right away and waited with expectation for when she discovered the answer. I did wonder at her extra caution about keeping Serenity a secret even from Meryl and Agent Bramble who have long-since been trusted allies and I cracked up at Holly's fluttering over Harmony so that Harmony was distracted.

The way Holly and Adam worked together and communicated showed that their relationship is right where it needs to be. I was so tickled to see them as a married pair.

In the end, there was the big climax scene and then a wonderful denouement that wrapped things up nicely. Most of all, there was a letter from the author promising that another Beechwood Harbor spin-off series was in the making so I was not saying good-bye to the town, the manor, or the people for good.

The last was easy, fast reading full of high entertainment and paranormal fun. Those who want a bit of extra sparkle and magic to their cozies and a slow burn solid romance should definitely pick these up.

Danielle Garrett takes readers on one last adventure with witch Holly Bolt in Goodbye’s a Witch. It’s been roughly six months since Holly and Adam’s wedding (previous book). The Inn and Holly’s business is running smoothly; however, there is an issue with the supernatural transport system, causing a few unwanted hiccups, and stranding a powerful witch at the Inn. Speaking of hiccups, Holly is experiencing magical hiccups, which is disrupting her spell-casting.

While Goodbye’s a Witch has a standalone, albeit short, mystery, its value is more in tying up loose ends and concluding the series with a lovely bow. The gang comes together to deal with the rogue vamps that have been plaguing the Seattle area. Additionally, they are saying farewell to Evangeline, who is moving to California to be with fiancé, Teddy. The gang has visits from out-of-town friends, and we hear about most of the Beechwood’s denizens, each finding their path to a happy life. While I feel like the author didn’t adequately address the issue of human friends Cassie and Chief Lincoln nearly finding out about the magical world, I’m happy with how the series ended.

Narration: As always, Holly and her friends are brought to life through the delightful performance of Amanda Ronconi, who has consistently done a wonderful job. Her interpretation of Holly is always spot on. Ms. Ronconi convincingly portrays Holly’s thoughts, concerns, and expressions. Her voices are all well-suited, and she gives paranormals their own fitting voices.

In the end, I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in Beechwood Harbor. Holly and the gang have become wonderful book friends, and I’ll miss hearing about their antics now that the series is over.

My Ratings:
Story: B+
Narration: B+

This book really brings things to a close in a good way. We have Holly getting pulled into a mystery, she does her best to help, then all the characters jump in to help Holly. There is a bit of a surprise, one easily guessed and makes sense in the storyline. I liked the goodbye dinner to Evangeline, a great way to say goodbye to them all in a way. I also liked how this one ended for Holly and Adam, nice to see them happy.

On a side note, while I like Holly and Adam together, did anyone else every wonder if Holly and Nick wouldn't have been better? Especially when he was doing all his PI stuff? Holly seemed to be drawn to crimes and helping people. Maybe it was just me.

Things at the inn are going well although there is still problems between the SPA and vampires. The portal to Beechwood is now in Holly’s garden but there are some glitches happening. When a witch appears in the portal, not knowing how she got there things start to happen starting with Holly’s magic going wrong.
It seems this witch, a hybrid witch and vampire, is on the run from both the SPA and vampires as she is the key to controlling the artifact from the previous story.
This book has a small mystery but it is not the focus of the book. Between trying to figure out how to save the girl this is a great book for bringing together the friends for a last time since everyone is going their own way.
A good story, great characters, humour and a surprise (although I figured it out). A delightful ending.
Unfortunately, this is the last book in a series that I thoroughly enjoyed and I’m looking forward to the Beechwood Harbour Ghost Mysteries.

The author gives us one last adventure with Holly Bolt, witch, potion maker and sleuth extraordinaire. Holly has come a long way since her humble beginnings as a sanctioned witch forced to move to Beechwood Manor. After the wedding and goodbyes in the previous audiobook, I was delighted to hear we would get one more tale.

Garrett gives us a mystery as we step into married life at the inn. We get updates on everyone as six months have passed. Trouble with supernatural transport, vampires and magic made for a delightful tale.

Honestly, I smiled as I listened, despite knowing it was goodbye. The case allowed us a chance to see old friends and wrapped up threads as Holly, Adam, and the gang dealt with some rogue vampires.

Holly was having trouble with her magic, and it was wonderful. From the cover, I am sure you can guess the dilemma. We got a wonderfully climatic scene and more than once the author had me grinning over the shenanigans. We got updates on beloved characters like Nick, Meryl, and Evangeline.

I adored the chance to spend time at the Inn (now a B&B) and seeing Adam and Holly interact as a married couple. While I will miss the residents and former residence of the Beechwood Manor and the folks they call friends, I am excited that Garrett has another spinoff coming.

Amanda Ronconi narrated and brought Holly and the other characters to life. From her tone to the pacing, she added another layer to a terrific series. I recommend listening if you haven’t done so already.

While each of the novels in the Beechwood Harbor Magic Mystery series contains a mystery that Holly and her friends solve, I recommend listening to the audiobooks in the order of their release. Relationships, friendships and the manor itself all played an integral role and are best experienced in order. This review was originally posted at Caffeinated Reviewer

A beautiful goodbye

This is goodbye, but what a beautiful goodbye! Surprises, twists and turns galore! I loved it a lot! I have loved Holly ever since the first time I came across a story with her as the main character, in an anthology. It was awesome to follow her, and now this is the end of the line. But I am sure I’m going to love whatever Garrett has in store for us next!

Favorite quote:
“Laughing, Adam deposited our small girl on the floor and instructed her to get her shoes on.
“Dragons don’t wear shoes, Daddy!” she informed him with a frown.” The things kids say, LOL, this made me laugh!

A sweet ending to a fun series. I only have one negative thing to say- although I really enjoyed the narrator, she does seem to have a problem with male voices. All the guys sound alike! Sometimes I could never figure out who was talking. Lol.

This was a nice ending to the series, as we get to see many of the characters who appeared in earlier entries. We also get an epilogue that lets us know what happens with Adam and Holly in the near future.

Ja det var nog sista delen det där. Mycket om familjeliv och goda vänner och väldigt lite om mysteriet som brukar vara i böckerna. Ändå har det varit en trevlig bok att lyssna på.

Over all a great series and this one was good at wrapping up most things. But since there wasn’t much more Danielle could have done with it, she was wise to end with this one.

Aaaaaand, scene.

I can’t believe I’ve finished this series. From start to finish, it was wonderful. I love this series to pieces and can’t wait to reread it someday.

My heart will miss Holly, Adam, Boots, and everyone else. I will think of them quite often, I imagine.

All good things must come to an end, I suppose. 💔

Dare I say Danielle Garrett might be my new favorite author? Perhaps. Her books are perfection overall and I love the world of Beachwood Harbor and all the characters that reside in it. I’m excited to explore her other series and characters!

For now, let’s find the next adventure, shall we?

I've had this for a few months, and I was both dying to read it and putting it off because, well it's the last book and as the title suggests, "Goodbye's a BitchWitch." But I finally read it and while I'm really sad that this series is over, it was a fantastic ending.

I think one of my favorite things about final books (or tv shows actually) is that the writers tend to bring back ALL THE CHARACTERS. Even if they just got a short cameo, you get to see them. And that was true of this book. I really enjoyed seeing a bit of everyone I've loved throughout the series -- and seeing them reach major milestones of their own.

As is typical of Beechwood Harbor, there's also magical trouble afoot and somehow Holly has landed herself right in the middle of it. So she and the gang we've come to love unit once more to save the day. Danielle Garrett did a nice job of giving us a mystery like we've come to expect, while also tying quite a few nice little HEA bows.

Amanda Ronconi has narrated the entire series and I've enjoyed every minute of her narration. She's one of my favorite narrators and she's perfectly matched for series like this with sarcastic humor and light mystery.

Thankfully I still haven the other Beechwood Harbor series to read, so it's not a full fledged goodbye, thank goodness!

Counts for COYER Fall Scavenger Hunt Item #43 - last book in a series.

The book to wrap it all up. Always difficult. Some parts worked fine. By the end, everyone was off to a promising future while Holly and Adam were happily settled, a far cry off from where it all started. So there definitely was a lot of growth during the entire series, something I do appreciate.
Other parts didn’t work so well, like, first and foremost, there was no mystery. Again. Second book in row and there was no body, no real case to solve, nothing really that tweaked those puzzling mystery-craving buds of mine. Even her „mysterious“ hiccups, I mean come on, who didn’t know from their mention in the description what’s the reason for those? I also missed some threads getting a proper end, like what happened to the Chief and his investigation of all these strange cases? The introduction of human technology into the havens? No follow up to her relationship with her aunt or who stood in for Harmony and finally scratch that general suspicion of the powers to be into Holly? Closure with the enemies like Gabriel and the Gargoyle from book 1? The reaction of Bramble to the secrets emerged? And Lacey! While it was nice to see her back once again, it still felt off with her and at the very end she was left out once more. Generally, why all this mistrust just in the last book? Holly should have put more trust into Lacey (especially!) and Bramble after everything they went through over the years and all the help the two gave them. And for what? A hunted figure that barely participated, wasn’t overly nice or endearing and whose fate really was another thing that felt unsatisfying, like the whole thing about Lilith‘s stone. A completely weak storyline and most of all doesn’t really making self in itself.
So yeah, I wished those last two books had been better. The series was okay, the author clearly having talent - but also making some questionable choices, especially in the end.

I'm really sad to come to the end of Holly's adventures but I have enjoyed these books immensely and I know that from time to time I'll stop by Beechwood Manor for a visit in the future as these have become a comfort read for me.

With their power called into question, the rebel vampires are at odds with the Haven Council and are spoiling for one more fight. Will their battle signal destruction for the magical world, or can Holly and her friends stop the vampires once and for all?

Holly and Adam have settled into married life well and their inn has become successful, even though there is still trouble between the vampires and the SPA. The portal that Holly uses to get to the Seattle Haven has been moved to the back of their property making life easier for their magical guests. When a young witch who is also half vampire turns up at the portal on the run from the vampire community as well as the SPA, Holly can't turn her away and wants to help her. It turns out due to her unique heritage she is the key to unlocking the power in the artifact that Lacey handed over to the Haven Council. To make matters worse, Holly's powers are on the fritz making it hard for her to use her magic.

This was a fitting conclusion to Holly's story with all the characters stories being wrapped up and a few surprises along the way (one of which I guessed). And because I'm a spoiler free kind of girl I won't go into detail as I don't want to ruin it for anyone else who hasn't read these, but i will say I was happy with how it all ended. I definitely had a few tears in my eyes as I say goodbye to Holly and the gang and I'll definitely read more books by this author. This was a Ten out of ten series for me. Highly recommend 😁

Holly & Adam are settling into running the inn at Beechwood Manor. Harmony is due to take her potion master’s test again. The SPA has located the local portal to the Inn although privacy is a bit of a concern. But more changes are due. Evangeline will be leaving soon. Meryl is working overtime with the SPA. Her boyfriend, Nick, is looking for a new path in life. When Holly’s magic seems to go wonky & Harmony’s results are held back under suspicion she cheated, things don’t look so rosy anymore. The portal has developed glitches which lead a witch/vampire named Serenity to land at Beechwood Inn unexpectedly. Seems rebel vampires are hounding her & the SPA wants her. The sudden appearances of Lacey & Agent Bramble lead Holly to conceal her presence. All hell is threatening to break loose at a time when Holly can’t depend on her magic or even know who to trust. In addition, Holly makes a surprising discovery. However, a pending showdown with the rebel vampires will need current & former residents of Beechwood Manor to stand together at least one last time.
This last book of the Beechwood Harbor Mysteries series brings back past friends and foes. But there is also a glimpse of a future that just might lead to more new adventures. Besides, portals are so handy for keeping in touch even if loved ones move away. Kudos to Danielle Garrett for a riveting conclusion to part of Holly & Adam’s story.

A true goodbye for the Beachwood Harbor Magic Mystery

Okay, I'll say this. First book I've came across was that first box set in audio and.. Ithought.. "Okay.. this is different than what I usually read but it's in a cute and sweet comfy sort of way."
So Ikept reading the rest in ebooks then got into the other series. I absolutely love Holly, Adam, Bootsy, Lacy, Posey, Evanglina, Harmony, Nick, MMeryl, Cassie, Jeffery, Lucy, Anatasia and so many other characters in this serie.

Holly worked her tush off to finally become a potion master that she dreamed to be. and to be an owner of an Inn to boost! Struggling with her finding her ways, kicking some evildoers booties and having a good happy ending in each book. Sigh, just the kind of book to smile with.

I'll admit, the book before this one tore my heart out with Posie and Earl passing on since Posie was one of the main characters. But alas, everything must go as Fates would keep it so.

Definitely deserves all 5 stars. The way Holly brought all of her old teammates to kick some butts in this latest installment, just so amazing. Hope Danielle Garetts keep up the good work.

May the Magic always bring that sparkle i your life.

MY TAKE
This really is the end of Holly's stories. The charming epilogue proves that. But they have one more adventure to get through to close up some threads the previous books. It also provides a nice farewell as some of her paranormal friends move on with their lives.

No spoilers
I'm going to review the Beechwood Harbor Magic Mystery Series here. There are 12 books in this series, and I've listened to them all on Audible.

I can't imagine it is easy to write 12 books and keep each book fresh and interesting. However, Danielle Garrett has done that with this series. Each book is different. There isn't a cookie-cutter approach to her storytelling. Each story develops the plot and the characters. It's nice to see the characters growing in response to the plot. I enjoy that each character unfolds in such a way that we can get to know them over time. By the end, it feels like Holly and Adam and their crew of friends have become a part of your own friend group.

Amanda Ronconi is a master narrator. She has brought these characters to life. She is by far one of my favorite voice actors!

I have been held in suspense, cried, laughed, and enjoyed the ride with these characters. I hope you choose to give the series a try and be transported to Beechwood Harbor for a little while!

Holly and Adam are settling into their first year of married life together. It’s busy and chaotic the couple are finding their way as owners of a supernatural inn, and Holly also runs a potions shop.
With their paranormal pals who also make a hilarious cast of friends that feature prominently throughout the series, the couple and ensemble cast are really are supernaturally delicious.

In the final book of the series, a hybrid vampire pops up on their property by the new portal.
She is being hunted for her hybrid powers. Love that the situation reunites Holly and Adam with old roomie sarcastic and secretly ooey gooey softie hearted (only for them) vamp fang princess Lacey, so she can help her Gal pal Holly out! There is so much drama and trauma and action worthy of its own movie franchise!

This would be such a fun movie series. The books are so action jam packed, well written with great characters, terrific plots and complete with the villain being a complete surprise and a happy ending and an absolutely worthwhile read

This is the twelfth and possibly final story in the series. It takes place six months after Adam’s and Holly’s wedding and ends four years into the future.
The main story deals with a witch/vampire hybrid needing a lot of assistance.
Also, Holly seems to be having an issue with her magic.
I loved the story especially the tying up of some lose ends with our favorite characters, a show into the future, and the what ifs……

Hopefully, we’ll be able to get a story or two down the line that will answer other questions we have about the frequent character that we have come to know.
This series was entertaining and I’ll miss it. I recommend it highly and I suggest starting with the first book and going through to the last. It’ll make more sense to you. I didn’t do that and wished I had even though each story is a standalone.

I listened to this story via my library and Hoopla. The narrator did an excellent job!

This is the final book of the Beechwood Harbor Magic Mysteries series. I have really enjoyed this series and hated for it to end. But this ending was excellent!

Many things have been changing in the magical world of Beechwood Harbor and other magical communities. The portal had to be moved and was now in the backyard of Beechwood Manor, the BnB run by Holly and her shifter husband Adam. A witch in need of asylum shows up at the Beechwood Manor and Holly can’t turn her away. The trouble trying to find the witch follows her through the manor's front door. She might be the last guest Holly and Adam ever check-in.

Will the battle between the vampires and the Haven Council prove to be the undoing of the magical world, or can Holly and her friends rise up and stop the vampires once and for all? Read the book - you will love the ending!

Wowza! I can't believe it is over. Such a great series. I didnt want it to end, I wanted to keep it going.lol Any who, I felt it was a good ending to the series. I liked how they really tied up the story's characters. We got a glimpse of how everyone is and what their path lead them to.

I did enjoy the mystery portion of the book but I felt that it was a tad short. The book itself was also short. The ending though was not lackluster. It was nice, I don't want to spoil it but I will say that I did tear up and warm my heart.

I definitely recommend the entire series. It's a fun read/listen too. There's sleuthing, magic and comedy bits mixed it. I hope one day we get another book just to check up on our redheaded witchy friend.

Not my usual genre of book but I found this series because I was looking for books narrated Amanda Ronconi and I thought 'what the heck, I'll give it a try'. Well, I am so grateful I did. The stories are fun, the characters are interesting, and more importantly, the stories evolved and the writer matured the characters as the series moved forward. I often get frustrated when characters remain the same from book to book and as a result lose interest in the story line. FORTUNATELY, that isn't how Danielle Garrett managed this series. The character's maturing throughout the series made the stories more interesting and kept me engaged throughout.

Fun!

I enjoyed this series. One of my pet peeves with this genre of books is the women would take responsibility for a rainy day and wallow in guilt if allowed to do so. Fortunately they have good friends who help bring them back to reality. I am envious of their friendship and love. Unfortunately, one of the realities of being 80 years old is we start dying off at this age. And of course, I simply cannot do things I did with ease a few years ago. I would love some of this groups magic! Enjoy the books!

I want to go on vacation to Beachwood Harbor!

Holly deals with disappointment after being set up and falsely accused of practicing dark magic. Banned from the haven, she moves on amidst lots of obstacles to flourish as a potions witch. Beachwood Harbor is a safe haven for paranormals living alongside paranormals. Posy the resident ghost rules the house. The characters are a colorful blend. From the first book to the last in this series, totally couldn't put it down. Great reads!

Goodbye’s a witch - Danielle Garrett

📚 paranormal romance
⭐️ 4/5
🔥 0/5

A strange witch shows up unexpectedly in beechwood harbor needing to hide from a hoard of vampires and hollys magic is on the fritz? Perfect timing… I feel like this last books was extremely fast paced, but I did love the reasoning behind hollys magic being weird. I’m going to miss holly, Adam, nick, Evangeline and gang, but it was a perfect ending to the series. I’m looking forward to reading more from this author in the future.
