In Las Vegas the booze is always flowing, and sinful indulgence is endless.
If you’re lucky, a hangover is the only thing you’re left with.
But for two unlucky girls the outcome of a simple mix up turns into a case of kidnapping, extortion, and fatal consequences…

After finally closing the chapter of Blake’s painful past.
FBI agent Blake Wilder and her team are sent to Las Vegas where two young women have gone missing after a night out.
Both are socialites, with well-earned reputations as party girls.
One of the women is the daughter of Dylan Powers, a wealthy tech mogul, casino owner, and power player in Sin City politics.
Unfortunately, the list of people who would love to take Powers down is longer than the Vegas Strip itself.
And as Blake digs deeper into the case, she finds herself on a troublesome path of betrayal and false trails that leads to a grisly death.

In Sin City, pleasure and excess can be found in every corner.
But some sinful endeavors come at an unforgiving cost.

I keep expecting these books to become dull, but every single one turns out to be amazing!

Not my favorite.

I gave this book a low rate because it was definitely not a page turner. The dialogue was over simplified and downright annoying at times. The giggling, banter between the agents and constant references to previous book plots was boring. The plot itself was also simple and I figured it out halfway through the book. Characters were overly described down to hair and eye color and added nothing to the book except to slow it down. So glad to have finished it. I rarely give up part way through but this one stressed my determination to finish.

This one fell short for me. To much talking and retelling of procedures then repeating again and again. Beginning was good got to see Blake in her new role, then the middle dragged on with all the procedure stuff, then then ending was back on point with the rest of the books in the series. Usually I can’t put this series down but this one had me 😵‍💫
Story was good just wasn’t executed the way that the other Blake Wilder books have been.

A definite must read book and series!!

I have absolutely loved this series! The exciting, thrilling, complex, and intriguing stories are unique and will keep you guessing until the very end. It's definitely a must read series for those of you who love thrillers. I would also highly encourage you to read this authors other series as well. They're all fantastic stories, and you certainly won't be disappointed! The Pax Arrington and Olivia Knight series are loosely tied to this one, there is some character crossover between the three series as well. Get ready to binge read some wild and crazy stories!
I can't wait for the next release in this series, especially after the small preview at the end of this book. I have a feeling that it's going to be another gruesome and twisted thriller that I'm sure to love.
I would definitely recommend this book, series, and exceptional author.

How does she do it???

I just finished the 14th book in about 6, minus all the interruptions! They keep getting better! I can't wait to get to the next one, because I know it won't disappoint me!
Someone made a comment about the green eyed and now I can't not see it! LOL. But hey, its her people. No biggie!
I find every novel more entertaining the last. I am an habitual reader and can not get enough of her work.
Someone complained about the father having an uncaring about his daughter's abduction. I get it! Her life was in danger, and someone with his power and personality thought he had to play smart and in order to get his daughter back.
Now on to #15! Good nite peeps! Love to all!

Another amazing story in the series

About a month ago, I stumbled upon Elle Gray's Spencer song series, which led me to discover Blake Wilder's captivating novels. Since then, I've been completely immersed in the series, currently reading book 14. My reading passion has been so intense that I've barely watched television, dedicating my free time to these engaging books. I'm truly inspired by Elle Gray as an independent writer pursuing her dreams, and I've become a dedicated fan. As an aspiring writer myself, I have numerous story ideas but struggle with transforming them from thoughts to written words. I would be thrilled at the opportunity to proofread for Elle and contribute to her writing journey. If that's a possibility, please let me know.

Not as fast paced as other stories in this series (spoiler alert in review)

I thoroughly enjoy all the books of Elle Gray, especially the Blake Wilder FBI series. This has been my least favorite. The story pace felt slow to me and didn’t get that “can’t put the book down” feel until I was almost 90% finished. I also felt that the completion of the story left some unanswered questions like how Wall needed to have money laundered and why he chose the Shogun Casino to clean it. I love the characters in this series and how they interact- just didn’t race through this book the way I normally do.

Elle Gray delivers another gripping installment in the Blake Wilder FBI Mystery Thriller series with The Unlucky Girl. Set against the backdrop of Las Vegas, the novel follows FBI agent Blake Wilder as she investigates the disappearance of two young women after a night of partying. One of the missing women is the daughter of a powerful tech mogul, adding layers of intrigue and danger to the case. However, the bad guy reveal towards the end was a little disappointing.
Soon, unexpected facts arise, complicating the story.
Positives- the plot and the story arc.
Negatives- the constant, repetitive banter between the agents.

Just Ok. I have no history with this author or series. I only picked this b/c I was going to Vegas. There were some details that annoyed me. Like do the girls have their phones or not when they are kidnapped? Turns out they have them, b/c they get taken away later. So...why didn't they just text someone when things got weird? Stupid stuff like that - but it takes you out of the story. I am not inspired to read the rest of the series.

The Unlucky Girl is the 14th book in the Blake wilder FBI series. When Blake and her team go to Las Vegas to check out the report of 2 missing girls they are taken aback when the father of one of the girls doesn't want their help. Blake decides to look in to their disappearance on their own. She has a gut feeling that something is terribly wrong and the girls could be killed. Now all she has to do is convince the father he needs their help

Worth the wait!

The Blake Wilder series is one of the first I started reading in this genre. And although I've read some pretty darn good ones and some not so good, I always look forward to the next Elle Gray mystery. If you haven't read all of the Blake Wilder series, you need to. They're every bit as good as this one.

So sad its ended!

This was such a great series with such a sharp and funny cast of characters. The plot was so realistic, and I've no doubt this may have been a real news headline, it certainly would make a really good movie. But I'm so sad the series is ended for now, so come on Elle, start writing another wonderful Blake and team book 15!

Help your daughter!

Elle's writing just keeps getting better and better. Money and power can sure produce some strange people. I was not wanting to put this book down until I completed the entire story, and now that I have finished I am ready for her next story. Good work and thank you!

a bit thin in plot development, but wrapped up satisfactorily

A Las Vegas mogul’s daughter and friend are abducted through trickery and held for reasons not readily discernible.

As expected, the mogul is uncooperative. The sister of the other young lady, who is an up-and-coming model and media personality, is worried and makes a missing persons report.

I enjoy a good investigation and these book do exactly that. I really liked.that the Thirteen has been but to rest (or has it?) I'd like to think so. I am hoping Kid make and appearance on the next one and that they can find a way to incorporate her in to Woking with them. I don't k k if I liked the cliff hanger but am nevertheless looking forward to the next book.

There is Always a Twist

Love this series and this book was just as riveting as it’s predecessors. I especially like that Blake has received a promotion and is moving up in the FBI and learning how to color inside the lines. Next up The Heist, started it before writing this review. Thank You Ms Elle Gray for your entertaining adventures.

Blake fan

Although I am always amazed at how a writer keeps coming up with materials for yet another book in a series, this one was not one of my favorites. The teasing amongst the team members is tedious and unnecessary to prove their bond with one another and the main “mystery” of this storyline did not flow. But kudos for continuing a series.

Hard working in the dark

Another outstanding read. Leave it to the team to accomplish the almost impossible. The team seems to be getting their act together. The are now doing a true team effort. Every member of the team is actually making the team stronger by bringing their individual talent to the team. Another I couldn't put it down.

An interesting case for Blake Wilder

Blake and her team has gotten a promotion and their first case has very few clues. Two young women are missing, one of them is the daughter of a powerful casino owner. A few twists and turns along the way and a good ending made this a good read.

Anytime Blake Wilder and her crew are on the job, you can be sure the bad guys/gals are are sweating bullets.
When Kimbra and Natalia are kidnapped, they find they’re stuck paying Dylan Powers’s tab. Some dad of the year he is.
This is a twisted world they live in.

Blake does it again!

Another Elle Gray book that keeps asking for more! A good read and with the twist of who the leader and killer was. Enjoyable read that leads the reader to ask when the next one is going to come out! Thanks for another Blake book.

Illogical ending in that he would kill his own daughter.
Also if she was a Unit director, she should have been getting updates from those unhappy people that didn’t get promoted. That whole part of the initial story was completely dropped.
