Everything’s been upside down since I helped Maya and the Faithful with the Rojo Luna said no when I offered to turn her as per our arrangement, a sentiment I agree with but don’t understand—and Sam, my “favorite” Faithful, is telling me, an unholy being, to stay “topped up.”
And if there’s a hell for vampires, I’m living in Paco hasn’t come back since I turned him, and I need to break up with an all-too-human Zach for his own well-being.
When Luna’s kidnapped by a cult attempting to summon the Sleeper, I have absolute proof that it’s safer for everyone for me to be alone—but I’m going to need Paco’s help to find her, because he’s the only one who knows what her blood tastes like.
Will Paco forgive me for making him what I am, and will I get another chance to change Luna before she becomes a human sacrifice?
Hi there! I'm a registered nurse and author. As Cassandra, I wrote the Year of the Nurse: A Covid-19 Pandemic Memoir. As Cassie, I've written numerous (and very hot!) paranormal romances, sometimes with my friend Kara Lockharte. I live in the Bay Area with one husband, two cats, and one million succulents.
Blood of the Dead is the sixth book in the Dark Ink Tattoo series by Cassie Alexander. I have enjoyed reading all the books in the Dark Ink Tattoo series and hate to see it end.
Like all the books before, Blood of the Dead grabbed my attention from the first page and never let go. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough as I needed to know how it ended. The world-building in the Dark Ink Tattoo series is just amazing. I loved how different vampires and werewolves were turned or changed.
I fell in love with all the characters from the first book. My favorite characters were Luna, Zack, Paco, Jack, Angela, and especially Rabbit. I liked getting to know each character and learning about their world. What an amazing world it is.
Jack is still missing Paco. Paco was not happy about becoming one of the dead. I do hope that Paco soon forgives Jack for turning him without asking permission. Jack is still keeping tabs on Paco and trying to look out for him the best he can.
Luna has been kidnapped. Jack needs Paco’s help to find her. The tension between Jack and Paco is high. Jack will do whatever it takes to find Luna and bring her home safely. Can Jack and Paco find Luna before it is too late?
I hate to see the Dark Ink Tattoo series end. But what a wonderful ending it was.
I highly recommend Blood of the Dead to all vampire fans! Grab a copy of Blood of the Dead today! I would suggest reading the books in order.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "BLOOD OF THE DEAD" What great conclusion to this amazing series full of intense drama, action, steam, you'll be hooked on this wild adventure you can't put down twists have you turning the pages to the end. Luna's life has been in chaos since she helped Maya & the Faithful with the Rojo clan she refused to be turned as their arrangement, Jack agrees but doesn't understand, if there's a H*ll he's living in it, Paco hasn't come back since he turned him, he also needs to break up with the all to human Zach for his own good. Luna gets kidnapped by a cult attempting to summon the Sleeper, Jack has proof its safer for everyone for him to be alone, but he'll need Paco's help to find Luna,he's the only one who knows what her blood tastes like. I definitely recommend to get this fantastic conclusion to this excellent series will Paco forgive Jack for making him what he is, will he get a chance to change Luna before she becomes a human sacrifice you must get this book to see how it all turns out. AWESOME READ!!!
For some reason this series has been a hard one for me as I transition from book to book. It feels like walking out of a movie and missing 15 minutes and then coming back and trying to figure out what happened. Part of that is why it took me so long to read this one. The other side is that I wasn't sure what kind of happy ending was even possible for Jack without Angela coming back.
I finally dove in and couldn't put the book down. I got sucked back into Jack's world and the story had intrigue and drama to keep me guessing and entertained.
I was blown away by the happy ending the characters received. It was beyond what it could even imagine. The story had a wonderful wrap up, making me happily let the characters go at the end.
This story had steam and characters that owned who they are and did their best to make their way in the world. Jack and Paco were my favorites. Luna and Zach definitely grew on me.
Cannot wait to go back and read the entire series again.

Luna is kidnapped my a dangerous culture wanting to summon an even more dangerous entity. Jack must find her and he'll need Paco's help in order to do so. Unresolved tensions between them are making finding Luna even harder, and they may never save her if they can't put their differences to rest.
This is the final book in the Dark Ink Tattoo series and wraps everything up for our trio. Luna, Jack and Paco were a fantastic set of characters that made the series great. I loved Zach as an addition to Jack's love interests and I loved the HEA that all of the characters got.
For a finale, this book wasn't as interesting to read as the rest of the series was. I wasnt wowed by the ending and the culmination of the series didn't go out with as much of a bang as it could have.
If you are familiar with Cassie Alexander’s writing, you know that her books and her characters are leagues away from the perfect, God-like mystic characters you can find in many paranormal/fantasy books. Blood of the Dead is the #6 – and final – book in the Dark Ink Tattoo series, and what a ride this has been. The misadventures of one of my favourite anti-heroes, Jack, and his friends and enemies, get to an end, and what a conclusion! I try not to make any spoiler, ever, but believe me, this book is worth reading. The plot, full of action, violence, love, smut & sex (a looooot), twists and turns (Nilesh.. who could have imagined?), Jack & Paco & Zach and their amazing relationship, Luna, Sam… I can honestly say that I’m sorry only for one thing… that this is the last book. I would have love more of Jack and his band of misfits! Highly recommended
Phew what a close in this last installment of this series! Such a shame it's ending, but what a great way to end! Jack and Paco stole a piece of my heart! They've been through so much together and they're just so sweet. Zach (Sunshine) was such a cute addition too! I wasn't sure how it would turn out for Luna, but at one point I was just surprised how she turned out and happy that she got what she needed and wanted so badly. Nilesh was also a pleasant surprise! I didn't see that coming. This has been an amazing journey that we've been able to take through this series, with these great characters and their so different characters. I highly recommend this series.

Blood of the Dead is Book Six and concludes the Dark Ink Tattoo Series. When Luna is kidnapped by a cult attempting to summon a dangerous entity, Jack is reunited with Paco when he needs his help to locate her. Paco is the only way to find her as he has tasted her blood. Paco and Jack have unresolved tensions that cause conflict between them. Can Paco forgive Jack for everything that led up to his leaving? Old feelings rise and deepen between them as they are forced into close proximity as they work together to save her. What would a relationship between them mean, not only for each other, but for Zach, the human Jack has been dating?
What a conclusion to this series! So sad that it’s ending but what a great way to end! Jack and Paco have stolen a piece of my heart! These two guys have been through so much together and they are just so sweet. I wasn’t sure how things were going to turn out with Luna but I was pleasantly surprised and am happy she got what she needed and wanted and Nilesh was also a pleasant surprise! Zach was so sweet and such an adorable addition! This was an amazing journey this author took us on and I very highly recommend this series! I am voluntarily leaving an honest review for this complimentary copy of this book
This series has been from the start full of adventure, emotion, and intriguing characters (flawed, not-always-so-human, entirely interesting and awesome in their own ways) and each book has added more tension, plot twists, and character development. This sixth book continues in that vein, and I’m not even going to try to describe what happens (seriously worth experiencing for yourself), but I will say, just in case it wasn’t immediately obvious— make sure you’ve read the series’ previous installments before starting on this one.

I'll write a more coherent review later, but this was so perfect I needed to just flip out happily a bit. I have been waiting the entire series for this perfection of an ending. Everything pulls together, all my favorite characters come into their own, and I developed new favorites who also get the endings they deserve. Earlier in the series, I couldn't see this kind of finale, and I was so freaking sad, and then this... It was worth every single heart-wrenching scene. Nearly every Cassie Alexander book is amazing, but I think this might be the first one whose ending actually made me cry happy tears.
How I'm going to miss being in this world but I'm happy to have been on an amazing adventure with the loveable Vampire Jack and the rest of the gang from Dark Ink Tattoo.
This last book has been bittersweet as it's an end of an era. I feel content that Jack ended up with everything he deserved, Paco and his Sunshine. I'm so happy for Luna too, she turned out to be a fantastic character who deserved her HEA.
This series has been a wild ride and I've thoroughly enjoyed every dark, seductive and scorching hott minute. 🖤🔥
What a great ending to the series. Jack has turned Paco and Paco has ran from him. Jack ends up getting involved with the Faithful as the underworld is after him. This ending has all the emotions of losing your lover, deciding that you won't force him to be with you, finding yourself in a place where you are ready to really die and finding that there is people in your life who will do anything to help you. I loved this series of books. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Well this was an unexpected ending for me and even though i did enjoy reading it i cant help but feel a little bit disappointed that Jack & Angela (from books before this one) didnt get together. Thats just me though.
Back to this final book Jack & Paco tried to come to terms with the aftermath of book 5. It brought about a pretty steamy threesome for both of them. Luna gets some action herself with Nilesh (another tattooist) but also in her own troubles too. It was a cracking to tie up all the loose ends and in the end to finished on high for all of them.
Jack: But I found I did have a stupid code after all, rattling around somewhere inside of me, like a ball dropped in a roulette wheel.
Blood of the Dead: Dark Ink Tattoo #6 is the last book in the Dark Ink Tattoo series. Between Jack’s insistent need to protect everyone, to make things as right as they possibly could be in a city like Las Vegas infused with untold paranormal beings, and Luna’s determination to become a vampire, they are an unlikely but perfect pair. Just as perfect as Paco, Zach, and Jack along with a fallen angel that loves to walk on the dirty side of life.
This was a great fast paced romance. Story that I highly enjoyed reading. It’s book 6 in the dark ink tattoo series. The story and characters are well written with the wonderful chemistry together. The storyline pulls you in from the beginning and I couldn’t get enough of it. I highly suggest reading the entire series. It was a fantastic read.

Brilliant kept me reading without a break. This continues the series with interesting happenings. Jack and Luna get pushed off the road and Luna is kidnapped. There is a new demonic entity out there to be dealt with, and Paco is now a vampire. Luna has caught the interest of a disgraced Angel, but still wants to become a vampire. Jack and Samantha are locked up under the desert. Zach helps Luna and Paco look for Jack. So much going on that it keeps you reading to the end.
Sad the series is over. I’m such a fan of Jack and Paco. They are so sweet together - but I’m also here for their addition. Loved the introduction of the hot fallen Angel Nilesh also - someone to give Luna a run for her money. I’m glad Luna got what she was after, in more ways than one. I enjoyed the wrap up of the series and so pleased it ended how it did. Made me tear up a little.
Jack and Paco reunite to help save luna but just what does it mean for them long term? Well written a great addition for the series that has your attention through out with steamy scenes drama action and more!.

Blood of the Dead is book six in the Dark Ink Tattoo series. I am sad that this series is over because I really like Jack. There's so much that happens in this book. Luna really grew on me in this book and I actually ended up really liking her by the end. I love Paco! He is just so perfect. I wish that we could have gotten more of Zach, Jack, and Paco. Those three are hot!!!
This is a well written book with descriptive scenes and is the sixth and final book to the series and the author does not disappoint! She does a great job packing the story with tons of action and brings strong characters. It's a terrific conclusion to the series.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
This is an awesome and yet befitting end to an amazing series. Jack, Paco and Luna are the main characters in this thrilling story conclusion. It is action packed where each character got to handle unfinished business with each other. It is a well written story as with all the other books in this series.

Series Done 5 stars. - Can’t believe the series is done! Dear author, are you sure there are no more adventures for Jack? What about Sam? Can’t her group have their own series? By the way, this book has steamy MMM, MF or MM scenes. This is the kind of series that HBO should be developing for streaming. I received an advanced copy and voluntarily chose to review it.
There have been so many facets to this tale, but the one thing I'm so very happy with is that Jack finally gets his happy. Honestly, it's a complete 180 from book one, but he's had one hell of a journey and he still gets his Sunshine every day. Fantastic job, Cassie. Loved it!.

I can't believe we are at the end of this series. It has been a wild ride and this addition is no different, Luna has been kidnapped. I am so happy the Jack is finally getting his ending. This really wraps up the series very well leaving me with no lingering questions. I highly recommend this series.
You will not to miss this book and series. This the sixth book in this series called Dark Ink Tattoo. The story pulls you into the characters lives and keeps you there till the very end. The characters are engaging and have an amazing connection. You will not put this book down. An amazing read.
I loved the ending of this series and really wish it wasn't ending yet. I loved all the characters even though they were morally grey. This book was steamy and exciting and held my complete attention. Can't wait for another series!.

Well this book is the final book in the "Dark ink Tattoo" series & it does not leave anything out to the up all the loose ends. I'm not going to say much just if you like Vampires then you need to read this series. With plenty of twists & turns, action, sex, an Angel thrown in too, plus HEA!
An exciting finish to the series. The storyline with the sleeper was compelling. And the romance was a nice touch. It was nice to see Jack get an HEA. I suppose it was good to see Luna get one as well. She grew on me. I enjoyed the spicy scenes far more when there were feelings between the characters.
