I was totally thrilled with the first three books in this inspirational contemporary romance series. This one is a bit different from the first three but still managed to intrigue. The heroine, Avery, has grown up and shows her maturity commendably. She and Colin were deeply in love five years prior and time has changed very little in that department. However, expectations may trump emotions again. The characters are so believable and the books are long enough to allow growth and depth,
even though this book was somewhat shorter in length than the previous three were.

I was ready to strangle Prince Colin's father and best friend, Gavin. I do not understand why people refuse to listen to a person's opinion about their own life. Instead, they think they know better and bypass encouragement wit with blatant demands.

This is a modern day fairy tale and keeps the reader intrigued, captivated, and entertained from page one all way through to the conclusion. The trust and faith that the two main characters demonstrate as Christians are amazing and carry them through many tough times.

This is an awesome collection of Christian - Romance stories by Rachel Hauck. These books don't preach, but they do reflect the character's faith that reaches beyond the realm we reside in. Each story is based on a different set of characters, which include some overlapping characters and places. However, each volume is clean and wholesome, conclude with a H.E.A., and easily stand on their own. However, they are even more magical if you read the entire series!

I've rated all four with FIVE STARS! They are captivating, compelling, and fun to read!

***** SPOI.ER ALERT *****
NOTE: The epilogue in this series includes the futures of all three Royal members of the Brighton realm, that had married good-old southern American girls. What a glorious future ahead for them.

This book was slow and draggy for me up until the last few chapters. Then the excitement happened. I wasn't sure the book was going to have enough pages left to fit all the excitement into it at the very end. I give this book a low rating because it was inconsistent and did not read at an even keel!

Figured since Prince Harry and Meghan married yesterday I should celebrate by reading a royal wedding book. How else would an avid reader celebrate? 📚I mean being a guest at their wedding might have been better, but books are a close runner.
Although this was a cute book, the romance didn’t come close to Harry and Meghan’s. So, our hero and heroine fall in love when she is in high school, but his father convinces him they are too young for commitments. He stands her up for her prom and then ghosts her. She goes on to become a volleyball champion with aspirations of Olympic gold. He goes on to princely duties. Meanwhile her sister and his older brother have their romance and get married.
Years pass, they meet again and still love each other. Romance ensues. Very clean with religious undertones.

Seriously, can anyone else write such swoony, royal romances like Ms. Hauck? I think not! I have been a fan of her Royal Wedding series ever since book one, Once Upon a Prince, and this one is just as wonderful as the rest. I mean, we have another chemistry-laden couple who bicker a little and fight their attraction, a past romance that helps to complicate the present, we catch up with Nathaniel and Susanna's happily ever after, plus it all takes place in Brighton Kingdom at Christmas time (well, mostly)!!! What else do you need to know to convince you to read it?? ;)

Our main couple is definitely the highlight of the story. Avery and Prince Colin have a history that proves just as potent in their present. When the two of them are in close proximity neither can see anyone else! No matter how much they both deny it, their chemistry speaks for itself. Yet their past is not so easily overcome. Pain causes Avery to withdraw, while duty does the same for Prince Colin, and they have to work to rebuild trust in each other. Still, ignoring isn't an option since familial relationships mean they are required to spend time together. We all know where their story is going to end, but it's each hard conversation, as well as giddy moments filled with sweetness, that makes the journey so fun. Plus when they needed the push, a certain centuries-old tradition involving a bell decides to help. I loved all the supernatural bits added in, true love will not be denied!

All the side characters are just as interesting, especially since we get to spend more time with Nathaniel and Susanna, who end up being voices of much needed reason. And I so appreciated how Avery and Susanna, along with their mother, were honest about their grief for their father. Losing someone you love is difficult, it changes every aspect of your life, which is something I know well. So to see the sisters, especially Avery, working through the emotional upheaval was poignant. Ms. Hauck described the unknowns and emotions of grief very accurately. It was true and honest, and heartfelt.

The fairytale-like elements are another part of this story that I loved. What young girl hasn't dreamed of marrying a prince at some point? Ms. Hauck takes that idea and brings it to life for us again and again. Which just makes me *happy dance*! I read through the story with a constant grin on my face. I would certainly not be opposed to more books in this series, Ms. Hauck! More swoony romance please! :)

Five years ago, Avery Truitt met Prince Colin of Brighton Kingdom. Five years ago, she fell in love. Five years ago, he broke her heart. Now, Avery's trying to find a coaching job as a volleyball coach. When she and her mother travel to Brighton to spend the Christmas season with her sister Susanna and brother-in-law, King Nathaniel. Susanna's pregnancy is helping to ease the sadness Avery has felt since her father's passing six months ago. Avery knows that she will have to see Prince Colin again. But she's not sure if her heart can take it. Prince Colin finds himself in the center of a centuries old tradition involving Cathedral City's Christmas Season, the Pembroke Chapel Bell, and the speculation regarding that he rang the bell to announce his engagement. Yet Colin's never really stopped loving Avery. Can he convince her that he's sorry for breaking her heart and to give him a second chance by marrying him on Christmas morning as the tradition dictates?

Ever since I read Once Upon a Prince, I have wanted Avery and Colin's story. I kept hoping that they'd end up together. Like the others in this series, I found this book to be utterly delightful.

I loved seeing how Avery has grown up from the teen she was in the first book to the beautiful, confident woman we see in this one. I also love how Colin readily admitted that he still loved her. While there were obstacles to overcome, I loved seeing how they both chose to follow their hearts.

This is by far a perfect conclusion to the Royal Wedding Series.

I received this book for free as part of the Booklook Blogger Program. I was not required to like the book, only give my honest opinion.

Avery Truitt is a down home, hard working southern girl. While it's true most people don't meet the love of their while in high school, that doesn't mean it never happens. Avery was thoroughly heartbroken when Colin stood her up and cut off all communication.

Now Colin is back in Avery's life while she's visiting her sister for Christmas and everyone gets all wrapped up in an old nearly forgotten tradition. While Colin is in the middle of this big old pickle, he has to decide whether he will continue doing as he's told or finally grab life by the reins and discern God's will for himself.

FTC Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. A positive review was not required. These are my honest thoughts and opinions.

This story started off so cute! I really enjoyed the romance and sports aspects of the book. Then things got really strange. An old legend and superstition were attributed to a "miracle of God." This was over-emphasized throughout the second half. The magically-ringing bell was too strange and fantasy-centered to fit into a contemporary, non-fantasy-genre story for me, and I really struggled through the back half of this one because of that. If the superstitious stuff was omitted, this would have been my favorite of the series, as Avery and Colin's romance was charming.

4.5/5 stars, but I'm feeling generous.
I honestly didn't expect to like this as much as I did, but it was such a pleasant surprise! This story was told so well, and Hauck really had you feeling for both Colin and Avery. My stone-cold heart was melting by the end! Her descriptions of Cathedral City at Christmas are just to. die. for., and left me feeling nostalgic for the 2018 Christmas period that we've just left behind.

Well, that felt like a Hallmark movie!

Main characters meet (in an earlier book of this series, although I haven't read it), fall in love, stay in love for several years, are separated, then fait happens … they see each other again, realize they're still in love, want it to work out, (but they know it can't work - he's a Prince in England and she's no one in America), it "works out", then something happens and they separate for a few minutes, the prince comes back, explains what happened, and everyone's happy. Plus, there's a wedding in the end! ;)

I really liked the Christmas-feel while reading this book!! I also really loved the Spiritual content in it - there were quite a few mentions of God, prayer, and people "finding God" as in getting saved!

Although it wasn't a favourite read, I still enjoyed parts of it!

Content:
Quite a few kisses, some semi-detailed.

I definitely recommend this if you like a Royal, Hallmark, Christmas read!

This is a quick, sweet easy read. I usually call these types of books "beach reads." However, this is a Christmas novel so how about a fireplace read! It's perfect for that. One character who has to learn to stand on his own two feet and do what he knows Gods will is. The other simply needs to trust that God will work His will in his time.

It's a sweet love story, of course, because the author is great at those. It has lovely characters, a beautiful dreamy setting, and a happily ever after ending. I'm not generally a contemporary fan, but this author is winning me over with each read.

So grab this book, cuddle up to a fireplace with your favorite blanket, and enjoy a fairytale story!

Scrumptious holiday romance! This ticks all the boxes and put me in the holiday spirit...in April. Which is fine, really, since there's a major blizzard heading my way. If I'm getting the weather, I might as well enjoy the best part of winter, right? And that's Christmas reading!

A modern day fairy tale with a toe-curling prince who wrestles between duty and the heart! Blissful sigh. A snappy, scrappy Southern belle who hides a broken heart underneath all that moxie. Circumstances conspire along with a little divine assistance and Colin and Avery are faced with a second chance...if they're willing to take a leap of faith. Loved every exquisite second of this read.

There’s always something compelling about former loves being thrust together by life and circumstance. Add in a dash of royalty, pomp and circumstance, and that is the adorable story found in A Royal Christmas Wedding. One thing that is harder to do in a shorter narrative is feel a connection to the characters, but I never felt like I missed a vital piece of their back story. Avery and Colin’s pasts up until the opening of this story are presented in an easy, engaging way that makes it easy to care about them.

The settings could not be more different, which is definitely a good thing because each setting reveals specific pieces of the former relationship between Avery and Colin. Whether it’s Avery’s home in Georgia or Colin’s home of Brighton Kingdom, there is a strong sense of place. The more relaxed, removed feeling of Georgia is a nice foil for the formal setting of Brighton. From an opulent ball room to charming to a snow-filled town square to a crumbling chapel bell tower, a lovely fairy tale feeling permeates through it all.

Even though there is a fairy tale vibe present in the story, there are also several true-to-life themes, including family obligations and expectations, the balance of private and public life, as well as trusting God when life veers off course. These issues are realistically and compellingly told through both Avery and Colin’s characters and move the story beyond your typical romance.

I feel that I should also mention that I haven’t read any of the previous books in the series but, I didn’t have any trouble knowing who was who or following the events of this story at all. Rachel Hauck certainly did her job in making me curious about the secondary characters (whose stories I do hope to read!), but this can definitely be read as a stand-alone novel.

If you’re looking for a Christmas tale with endearing characters, charming settings and a cinematic happily-ever-after, consider picking up A Royal Christmas Wedding to wrap up your holiday reading this year.

*Updated Review* I just finished listening to the audio book for A Royal Christmas Wedding and I enjoyed it just as much as the first time I read it. The narrator did a great job and this was so much fun to listen to!

This beautiful cover is so perfect for the wonderful story contained in this book! The Royal Wedding series is one of my very favorites and A Royal Christmas Wedding captured the fairy tale quality I love about these books. In fact, it reminded me how much I want to go back and read this entire series from start to finish.

I liked Avery and Colin so much, even as Colin struggled with allowing his father too much power over his personal decisions. And sweet Avery. She knew who she loved and she knew what heartache was. In fact, both Colin and Avery knew love and the loss of that love. This was a wonderful story of second chances! It was also great to get to read about King Nathaniel and Princess Susanna, from book one, and peek into their lives again.

The mystery of what really happened in the bell tower, both in the past and in the present, was fascinating. As were the characters, who needed to learn to rely on and trust in God in a world that told them the opposite. Oh, and the Madeline and Hyacinth Live show segments were so fun and added to the feeling of the royal family always being in the spotlight. This story was so enjoyable to read from beginning to end.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

I've really enjoyed this series, as I love the idea of royals falling for commoners and this book is no exception. Prince Colin and Avery met and fell in love five years earlier, but he broke her heart...without reason. Now they have a second chance at love...if it all works out this time.

I love these characters! Prince Colin did indeed have a decent reason for the heartbreak, although he didn't handle it well. Chalk it up to immaturity. As much as he tries to fight his heart, he does a good job of winning the reader over. I love watching him find his faith and strength to do hard things. Avery is a sweet and strong woman, but how many times can a heart break? I didn't blame her at all for trying to move on, but when true love calls, she has to decide how to answer.

There really is something engaging about royals and I couldn't get enough. The magical effects of a prince, Christmas, and age-old traditions really grasped my attention and my heart. Although Maddie and Hy (the reporters) can be a bit overbearing and annoying, I felt they really brought certain aspects of this story alive. The culmination of the Christmas events made my heart sing--so perfect. I'm a little sad to see this series end.

Content: mild romance (kissing); moderate religious elements (it IS a Christian fiction).

I really love this series.  It's one of my favorites and I'm always watching and waiting for the next book to come out.  There is just something about a royal prince/princess love story.  Kingdoms, balls, palaces- it's all very romantic.  This one is also a second chance at first love kind of story.

Colin and Avery have a history.  They fell in love at a young age but Colin left Avery high and dry with no explanations.  Her heart was crushed.  It's hard to get over that kind of hurt.  Avery is the best kind of character though.  She is vulnerable and hurt, but never mean.  She still holds her head high and acts gracious and kind.  I love that about her.

The rekindling of friendship and then love was really the best and the Christmas setting filled the pages with magic and wonder.  This is the perfect way to bring in the fall and winter season.  Get cozy and settle in for a fantastic love story!

This title releases on Oct. 17th.

She’s done it again. Rachel Hauck has made me cry. I mean…Every. Single. Time. No matter what it is, if Rachel Hauck writes it I’m usually crying by the end (note: they are pretty much always happy tears!).

I was in desperate need of a great Christmas book to help me continue the feeling of the holiday’s past December and this book was exactly what I needed for that. I have long loved her royal series and this was the perfect end to that! Plus, combine a quaint kingdom, a handsome prince, and a spunky Georgia girl and you’ve got a recipe for success.

In this sweet (and relatively short) Christmas read we see Prince Colin of Brighton Kingdom become reacquainted with Avery Truitt (Susanna’s sister). We also find out more about their past and how that affects their current history. Plus, in addition to all of this, we get let into a past tradition in Brighton Kingdom involving a bell and a potential marriage on Christmas Day. What more do you really need to know?

All in all, the story captivated me and made me smile—even as it had its ups and downs with the general roadblocks that come up between Avery and Colin. If you’re still in the mood for a little Christmas and a lot of romance, add this to your next-up TBR. Or, if you must wait until the next holiday season, then add this to your wish list because it’s the perfect Christmas read!

Rachel Hauck’s A Royal Christmas Wedding is a book I’ve been waiting to read since Once Upon a Prince. I had so hoped Avery and Prince Colin would get a happily ever after, and this delightful holiday story finally gives them their needed second chance. Both Avery and Colin have grown up a little since their first appearances in the Royal Wedding series, and I loved getting to know their characters better as they explore the possibility of rekindling their relationship and trusting God with the future. From start to finish, it’s a sweet romance—the perfect read for any fan of the series this holiday season. I loved it and recommend it.

Sorry but I just couldn't get into this. I stopped at page 22. Maybe if I'd read the other books in this series but instead this is the only book in the series I read. I couldn't make sense of it so definitely would have helped if I'd started at book one. Ill admit I liked the cover and thought it might be a nice Christmas read.
It seems it is a time split novel cause it started out in the 1800s. Then switched back to a mother and daughter running a restaurant in Georgia. Somehow they have a daughter/sister married to a King. The one daughter working in the restaurant used to date a prince! Seems like a modern day fairy tale. Like Meghan and Harry. Then back to Brighten with Prince Colin.
I will just put this one back in my library and maybe sometime I will start at one.

A Royal Christmas Wedding is Rachel Hauck's fourth and final book in her Royal Wedding series. Fans will be glad to visit with characters from the other three books and see how they are getting along. Avery believes she has given up all feelings for Prince Colin after he abandoned her at her high school prom. Now she is visiting her sister, Princess of Brighton, and Colin is there. Will they continue to follow their own plans, or will they seek G-d's will? I believe that the following verse applies to Avery and Colin's story; 28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

From Amazon:
Avery Truitt aches for true love—the kind she once shared with Prince Colin. Can she dare to hope for happily ever after, or is a fairy-tale ending beyond reach?

College volleyball star Avery Truitt has not seen her former flame, Prince Colin of Brighton Kingdom, since he suddenly pushed her away five years ago. But now, the sadness of losing her father and the joy of her sister Susanna’s pregnancy have brought Avery back to Brighton just in time for Cathedral City’s enchanting Christmas season.

Avery knows she can’t avoid seeing Colin—now the Kingdom’s most eligible bachelor—whether or not her heart is ready to relive the pain. But seeing him again might bring her the closure she needs after all this time.

When Colin finds himself at the center of a centuries-old Brighton tradition, he must decide whether to follow the path laid out before him or follow his heart to the only woman for whom he would ring the Pembroke Chapel Bell.

Can Colin convince Avery to meet him at the chapel on Christmas morning—as tradition dictates—or will Avery run back to her St. Simons home and pursue a coaching career as planned?

In the fourth installment of the Royal Wedding Series, New York Times bestselling novelist, Rachel Hauck, weaves a charming story of holiday romance as two broken hearts seek the love they once knew.

What a perfect little way to finish off one of my favorite series.

Spending Christmas in Brighton Kingdom with her sister, Princess Susanna, Avery dreads one thing...seeing Colin again. He broke her heart five years ago and never looked back...and she's gonna make sure it seems like she hadn't either.

This was a perfect ending to a perfect series but I would have liked a little more information about Regina from Princess Ever After. It seems like after her novel, she was all but forgotten which is a shame. But...aside from that, I highly recommend this book and this series.

I enjoyed this conclusion to the Royal Wedding series by Rachel Hauck. Colin and Avery had fallen in love five years ago but their romance was cut short when Colin stopped communicating with Avery. Avery has tried to move on with her life but she is about to spend Christmas with her sister, the Queen, right in his hometown. Will Colin finally explain why he shut her out? Will seeing him bring closure or again spark the flame of their love?

I loved this series and the romance of ringing a bell to announce your intentions to get married was so much fun. And I loved that the author used a "God thing" (the ringing bell) to push Colin into doing the right thing. The fact that Colin had found faith in his teens and, for the most part, kept it, gave him a strength of character that I admired. I did not like Colin's dad and thought that his turnaround in the end was a little too handy.

Poor Avery! She's had a hard go of it lately with her dad dying and a sports injury that has ended her planned career path. Now she's having to face the love of her life who cut her off with no explanation. But she's determined to use this opportunity to find out the truth and to get closure. I love that she's so supportive of her mom and her sister. She's also smart and determined to move past her injury and find a job that she enjoys. Will she risk opening her heart to Colin again or will she finally put him in the past and move on?

I didn't really care for the segments of the Madeline and Hyacinth Live show . I liked their characters and what they added to the story-line, I just thought the way those parts read were choppy.

All in all, I thought this book was a wonderful ending to this series and something you will all enjoy reading. And I loved that it was set at Christmas time - the most wonderful time of the year! :)

A Royal Christmas Wedding felt like a wonderful reunion with one of my favorite royal families! It's been about 4 years since I read and loved the book that started it all, Once Upon A Prince. I absolutely adored Susana and Nathaniel's love story. So, I was all kinds of excited to see Susana's younger sister, Avery (who was one of my favorites from book one) all grown up with a love story of her very own!

After visiting Brighton Kingdom with her sister Susanna. Avery had fallen head-over-heals in love not only with the country but with the Prince Collin as well. She thought they were both headed for their happily ever after. Until Colin leaves her without any explanation right before her senior prom.

Five years later, Avery has moved back home to St. Simons Island to help her mama run the family restaurant, after the death of her father. Avery has giving up on her long held held feelings for Collin and is ready to for a fresh start.

But when Susanna invites Avery and their mother over to Brighton for Christmas, moving on becomes oh-so-complicated to say the least! Colin and Avery are faced with having to see a lot of each other during the holiday season! (akward...)
Both Avery and Colin have to navigate between the hurts of the past and family expectations, and the growing love and attraction they have toward each other.

I always enjoy the second-chance-love stories! Rachel Hauck does a wonderful job of mixing romance and sweet humor with a beautiful heartfelt message of faith. Avery is a character you can't help but like! Lol! I couldn't even stay mad at Colin long either! They're just that couple you just want to root for! I just love the ringing of the bell tower in the story, it added a touch of faith and whimsy! I'm glad we got to see Brighton Kingdom for the last time and the quaint little shops at Christmastime! Rachel 's descriptions just make you wish this was a real place! I appreciated seeing Susanna and Nathaniel again as well! I felt all kinds of sentimental reading this book! This was just a delightful end to a great series!

( I'm almost tempted to read it again)

My Favorite Quotes

“Some things in life don’t work out. So you loved Colin and he stupidly let you go. Sorry, I’m talking about it again. But none of this changes who you are, who God’s called you to be. You are an amazing woman. Don’t lose sight of who you are because a man can’t appreciate you. Who cares what Colin wants? What his father wants? God is for you. What do you want out of life, Aves?”

“Truth is truth, you know that. You know it when you hear it.”

"God, You got this, don’t You? You got me. Seemed if He went to all the trouble to send Jesus as a baby with the express purpose of redeeming mankind through the ugly cross, He’d have a purpose in mind for Avery"

"In a little town some thousand of miles east of Stratton Palace, two thousand years ago, a King was born in a manger. The truest King of all. The One every nation will worship. He was, and is today, and will come again."

I found it a little hard to believe that after 4-5 years without seeing each other, Colin and Avery were ready to get married, but this was still a cute read. Very cheesy, but still cute.

Sweet Romantic Fairytale Story

This was a sweet romance with a great fairytale feel to it. I really enjoyed reading it since it's the Christmas Season and that's when this book is set!
