Short and sweet review because this book has me smiling so big.

A stunning picture book filled with positive affirmations to repeat every day. Each spread contains a daily affirmation along with a poem that expands on it.

The illustrations are absolutely gorgeous. I loved the textures and patterns.

A beautiful book that promotes seeing the best in yourself. Great resource for instilling confidence and self-love.

Lucky me: I attended a reading of this book by the authors :D

This is a really cute book of affirmations that adults can use with the children in their lives, and each affirmation is followed with an explanation of what it means. For example, the first one is:

I am WORTHY.
You are filled with goodness, knowledge, and worth--more precious than all teh diamonds found here on earth.

The most powerful part of the book is the end where the reader is invited to "repeat after me" all of the affirmations that are presented in a list. (There is an author's note at the beginning that encourages adult caregivers to have the children repeat the affirmations throughout the book, but saying all of them at once, as the kids say, hits different.)

The artwork is also fantastic, showing different children in different situations that affirm their hobbies and lives.

This would, of course, make an excellent read aloud, especially in a classroom full of children. But it could also be used for older children and adults who are looking for delightful artwork to go along with their affirmations.

This is a great book for parents! It reminds us all that words of affirmation are extremely important. The book offers a list of positive phrases for parents to use with their kids on a daily basis. The key is for the parent to say this to the child - and then for the child to repeat the phrase. So you might say - "You are awesome. Now repeat after me -- I am awesome!" It might seem a bit awkward at first but if you do it every day, it will become less so.
The book is written with a small rhyme after each affirmation. A few of the rhymes are a bit awkward so you may want to read through it at least once before reading it out loud.
This book can definitely be used by parents but can also be used by social workers, teachers, church leaders - anyone that has an opportunity to use affirming words with kids. Be sure to include some affirming words in your life every day - for kids and for yourself.

Accompanied by digital artwork, the text in this picture book features 12 affirmations, including "I am important" and "I am enough" that will help youngsters feel valued and empowered. The authors suggest sharing the statements with children and having them repeat them, using first-person point of view, which may help them internalize the sentiments. Rhyming lines support each of the affirmations, which are expanded upon alongside illustrations featuring smiling, engaged young folks who are living their lives to the fullest possible capacity. Teachers, parents, and caregivers might want to share this title with their own youngsters since its positive message can't help but make readers and listeners feel good about themselves. And in this often-troubling world, there is a need for more positivity.

Lovely illustrations and helpful affirmations for to encourage optimism and positivity in children. Useful and true phrases with inspiring images of confidence.

Read as a nomination in the Fiction Picture Book book award category as a panelist for Children's and Young Adult Bloggers' Literary Awards (Cybils Awards).

Well-done, but not necessary the sort of book my kids would come back to over and over again.

As a great great uncle, I like to find picture books that my great nephews and nieces and great great nephews and nieces can be read by their mommies and daddies (or other adults occasionally.)

This one is chock full of rhyming affirmations that the authors intend children to repeat - in the first person - at least daily. The pictures enhance the text beautifully.

This book is everything I wanted from a kids affirmation book. My three year old daughter really enjoys it, and requests it often. She really is a tough critic so that says a lot. The art is beautiful. The message is wonderful. And there is nothing more powerful than hearing your child repeat affirmations "I am loved... I am worthy... I am brave... I am enough..."

I read this book as an adult reader for the AR Diamond Book Award. Let me start out by saying just this one thing: WHY CAN'T EVERYONE READ THIS??? This book is so amazing from the positive message it sends to the life affirming quotes that kids can repeat back. This would be a great story to read to even older tweens/teens--we all need this message every day!

I loved reading the authors' explanation of how this book came to be. Think how different the world would be if every child, on the way to school, said positive affirmations about himself and others!

Simon and Dule compile a picture book of inspirational statements which readers can repeat and be inspired by. Each of the thirteen statements (I am worthy) is also followed by a short poetic verse. The final pages compile all of the positive statements.

This is a beautiful book of affirmations. How to affirm your child and get them to internalize important messages of self esteem and self worth. If every kid were parented like this.... oh, the potential for a better world. Beautifully illustrated, and lovely in its representation.

The power of positive thinking! The best gift to give a child is a positive self image of themselves. Confidence is learned through the thoughts we form in our heads. Speak life!

Empowering set of affirmations written in a “repeat after me” style. Great for a caregiver and child to read together, but also for lower elementary classrooms.
