I have been working through this cookbook and I am ready to put it away and try something else. I have made about 30 recipes. The great thing is that the seasonings required are easily located. I am not a wine drinker so I didn't worry about finding a wine that I would be willing to drink. I bought a jug of red wine and a jug of chardonnay and the world didn't end.

Some of the recipes were just ok and there were others that I will never try (Beef Tongue in Brown Gravy, Stuffed and Baked Heart, Sweetbreads, Stuffed Reindeer with Berries). I didn't make any recipe that had shrimp cooking for longer than a few minutes. There are recipes with seafood that is either really expensive to get or hard to get where I am at. Some recipes were failures. There was a recipe for macaroni and cheese that did not work. The stuffing in the Stuffed Pork Chops was overpowered by the cayenne. I tried the marinated shrimp. There is a fine line between marinated shrimp and pickled shrimp and this recipe was definitely pickled shrimp.

There were several recipes that I will make again. I liked the Boiled Beef Ribs and the Mustard Sauce. I also liked the Strawberry Sauce. I had the most fun working through the vegetables section. I have made almost all of them. My favorite was the Parmesan Eggplant Strata.
