The rumor is spreading that Kyohei and Sunako are an item, and many jealous women are out for blood. Their target? An suspecting Sunako, who now can't even go to the store without endangering herself. Kyohei is oblivious until his friends convince him to protect Sunako. But what if Kyohei's chivalry only makes life even more miserable for her?
Tomoko Hayakawa (はやかわ ともこ, Hayakawa Tomoyo) is a Japanese artist and writer, best known for her ongoing manga The Wallflower, which has spawned both an anime and a live action series.
I don't know why I keep reading these. This series has gone on waaaay too long without really going ANYwhere. I'm sort of interested to see the final outcome, but there's no indication that that's coming anytime soon. Boo.
When you thought your ship was gonna sail -_- Ugh THEY'RE SO DENSE! Takano ALMOST got the answer but ofc being the guy he is he thought it was food -_- As for Sunako she still hasn't grasped being pretty I think. But it's starting to get there. STARTING! Ugh and they have everyone's support too
Sometimes it seems Sunako and Kyouhei are finally realizing their feelings, only that it was an illusion to keep the reader on the edge. Grrrr..
So there are a lot of Sunako-Kyouhei moments in this volume. Only the first chapter is not. It is about Yuki and his girlfriend, who I appreciate, it is way more pretty when she is drawn by Tomoko Hayakawa (the first one was way uglier).
Then, it is mostly about Kyouhei making others believe that his girlfriend is Sunako, so girls can leave him alone. And he holds her hands while girls cry and the boys are moved, saying again and again 'Kyouhei is in love!'. It is so silly that makes you laugh, you want it or not. Also, there is another competition: girls try to compete against Sunako to prove who deserves to be Kyouhei's girlfriend, and Sunako's reaction to all the madness is hilarious.
And could Sunako get any more cuter as a chibi? Not sure if it is that I love this manga so much, but I even think now that the art is nice. The boys, especially Kyouhei, look very handsome, and Yuki looks so sweet. True, their profile is still not nice, but their eyes, or their lips, or even their hair. Cute, cute, cute!
Kyohei gets spooked when he thinks he is being stalked, so he makes Sunako pretend to be his girlfriend. This backfires when she becomes the target of the animosity of the every woman in town, jealous of her "relationship" with Kyohei. The rest of the boys convince him to defend Sunako from the jealous rages of the female population. But this, in turn, attracts the attention of gang of boys who want to take Kyohei's place in the school. Can Sunako and Kyohei get themselves out of trouble in time? And what happens if Kyohei's feelings aren't fake after all?
I don't really like Maciko.... No but I loved the rest of this volume!!!! Sunako competing without knowing it with the other girls it was priceless! This manga is not getting boring or redundant at all which sometimes happens with long series like this one so it's really a good think and the characters are changing too. For example they are more drawings were Sunako is in a "normal" appearance which means she is starting to evolve a bit from her dark side attitude.
Overall series review (mostly) 4 Stars - so far, I’ve still got a few to go… Additional: Like most long running series there are some duff chapters/volumes
The hilarious romantic bizarreness of Sunako and Kyohei only gets more out of this world. I totally love them, when are they gonna be together- I mean together, together? haha cant wait of volume 22.
