In the third round of their latest competition, Azuma's team squares off against a couple in ninja costumes, but this pair of stealthy bakers turns out to be Suwabara and Monica in disguise. Vowing to finally defeat Azuma head-on, Suwabara uses a legendary bread technique that literally twists the judge's body into knots...but will it be enough? And later, it is revealed that young baking genius Shigeru Kanmuri is actually the scion of a famous yakuza family. Will Kanmuri be forced out of the kitchen and into a life of organized crime?!

About the author

Takashi Hashiguchi (橋口たかし) is a Japanese manga artist. He is best known for his manga series Yakitate!! Japan, for which he won the Shogakukan Manga Award for shōnen in 2004. Hashiguchi won a newcomer's award in 1987 (published in a magazine), and Combat Teacher debuted the following year in the same magazine.

A prevailing theme seen throughout his manga is the realization of childhood dreams, such as making bread in Yakitate!! Japan or becoming a yo-yo master in Super Yo-Yo (Chousoku Spinner). Hashiguchi mainly focuses on unusual occupations or sports.

He enjoys comedy as well, and took a brief interlude from drawing to try his luck as a comedian.

I've really been enjoying watching these Yakitate 25 battles! :)) And now for something new and exciting, they're not going to make bread, but JAM!! Plus we also get to learn more of Kanmuri's background. Overall another good collection of chapters. Can't wait to read more :)

Easy win for the Pantasia bros again against the ninja opponents as the challenge doesn't really adhere to either of the ninja's strengths, with Kai's fantastic but rigid techniques & Monica's penchant for working with sweets not really being the best fit for making a Mrs. Baird's green onion twisted loaf.
*shrugs*
But the next challenge brings all the good stuff tho!
- Personal stakes for somebody whose backstory we never delved into!
- the opponent being a world-renowned, absolute master at the challenge food!
- our main character being sidelined with a non-fatal disease!
- bad puns!
...
Also a neat little segment in the middle of the book about how to make rolls in a frying pan. But per the author's own admission, it didn't taste too good. Guess one just has to train up their solar gauntlets to really make that dough magic!

This is a pretty decent cooking manga, it was really good and interesting at the beginning but got bored the second half probably because it’s solely just about bread 😂👌❤️

J'ai beaucoup aimé ce tome, avec des propos sur la camaraderie, toujours de l'humour douteux et des bons moments disséminés ça et là. Je me demande pourquoi on quitte le pain pour de la confiture sur l'épreuve suivante, mais j'attends de voir où ça va nous mener !

Meskipun sudah baca di majalah bulanan Shonen Star, tetap perlu membeli tankoubon-nya. Apalagi versi tankoubon ada bonus-bonus spesial, seperti cerita tambahan Wild Life ala Hashiguchi-sensei, atau resep roti goreng yang diperagakan Hashiguchi sensei sendiri... worth to try, someday!
