I signed up for a research mission with five other women. Instead, we crashed on an alien planet with too many dangers to count. Separated from the other women, I'm on my own until a huge alien with color-changing skin and a massive sword gets me out of a bad spot. I don't understand Savair's language, but I think he's under the impression that I'm his.
I am NOT his. I'm a divorced scientist with no time for such nonsense. But if he can help me find the others in my group then perhaps I can play at being "his" for a while. It's not a hardship. He's the sexiest male I've ever met with a jawline to die for, but there's no way I'll fall for this guy. Nope. Not a chance...
Jetta makes me ache. I desire her the moment I pull her from a Brakken meat trap. Her soft, warm body awakens hungers long banked. But my Sola, the living ship I am bound to, is dying, and thus, so am I. I must find a way to save my Sola and my mate, or none of us will survive.
This is book one of the Lords of Destra series. Each is a complete story with no cliffhangers or cheating. My books always have consent and a happy ending. Cheers!
The following ratings are out of 5: Romance: 💚🖤💙❤️💜 Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥 Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔 World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏🌍 Character development: ☹️🙃😍😘 Narrator(s): 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙 Narration Type: Dual Narration
The heroine:Jetta - She works for Earth Explorations, Inc. on a research mission in outer space with five other women. They are on their way to Clarion 4 on the Axion 9 research vessel. They plan to spend a year on the planet to see if it will be an appropriate location for a human outpost and trade base. Though they crash land on a dangerous alien planet on the way.
The Hero:Lord Savair - He travels the galaxy on Sola, his living ship. The ship is dying and so is Savair since they are bound together. He is from the Destrin people, from Destra, the most brutal planet where only the strongest, toughest and most vicious survived. He and his hunters were in the forest, finding food for his people. He was hunting a Brakken within his territory which was the largest since he was the one that was bound to his Sola.
The Story: The world building was pretty great in this book. The details of the escape pods on the ship were terrific, including the the description of the crash and where Jetta landed. Trees with clear iridescent leaves, the sap that leaked from a broken branch and smelled bitter. I loved the fact that the escape pod sprayed her with a sweet smelling drug so she didn’t panic and she was equipped with a headset that was computerized and was able to tell her that her ship mates were not anywhere near her.
When Savair sees the fallen vessel, a scent stirs something in him that has been dormant for a long time, when he finds a Brakken meat trap, with a female inside, one with the same scent that stirred him. Though I did find it odd that the Brakken which Savair was hunting, was a beast that seemed at least somewhat sentient since they laid traps and fought with weapons.
Everything was explained very well, though I found myself wondering a few things, like why they didn’t take the ship to find the rest of their people. It was eventually explained, the explanation didn’t make much sense. Though overall, I really enjoyed this one, it had a great story and was very original, great characters and some steamy goodness.
This book is told in dual points of view via dual narration and narrated by Tor Thom and Elle Sonali. Elle has a clear and feminine voice which I enjoyed and Tor Thom has a very deep voice which lends itself well to the genre of alien romance. I have always liked his narration and he does a good job on this one as well.
Jetta is on a one year research mission in space when she crashes on an alien planet. Luckily she is found by an alien that only seems to want to help her. Lord Savair is bound to his Sola, a living ship that happens to be dying and taking him with her. He needs to find a way to save her and in turn everyone on the ship.
My nerves went crazy in the beginning on the ship. I wonder what happened to the rest of the women.
I started this story months ago through kindle unlimited, but returned it because I wasn’t into it. I ended up getting it again, and finishing it this time. It’s an okay story, I just found it hard to attach myself to the story at the beginning.
Well done. Interesting alien world and series arch. Typical “mating marks”! The heroine is badass but in a normal approachable way. Hero is a question mark. His people seem to be a bit on the primitive side but it fits their “ship” situation. Always hilarious to me how these books have loincloth-wearing warriors flying spaceships. Not this time! He’s got tailored pants, yay! Will definitely keep reading.
This one is super sweet. Saviar and Jetta are just adorable!
**Spoiler Alert** This one is sweet, there's no getting around it. It does have some good action, which was a real plus because I was starting to think that it was going to just stay sweet.
The spice on this one is low, but it's a well done low. Quite frankly it was a welcome read to all the strangeness that seems to come along with Sci-Fi Romance.
The color changing skin, I felt like it could have been done better. The only color we know is the bright blue on his chest. There was eluded color definitions but I'd have liked to seen more of an explanation for what each color meant.
Saviar seems to be the only decent lord, which I find odd. All the rest of the guys are depicted negatively. I'm curious if that was the norm and Saviar change or if he had always been different.
Which leads me to the character definement. It was seriously lacking on both sides but especially on the Destran side. The Destrans seem very flat, there isn't a lot of culture for them. For the humans, we see them lounging, we know what their obsessions are, what makes them unique as far as field of study goes. Hopefully this will fill out in the next book. I'd have given it a 5 star if the Destran culture had come across a little stronger.
This was one of those instances where the book has a high average rating on GR, all my favourite tropes, nothing objectively wrong with it, and yet I got the 2 star vibes right from the start. And I had to keep reading to figure out what my deal was.
Normally, this premise is totally my thing. I LOVE a heroine who crash lands on an alien planet only to be rescued by her fated mate who doesn’t speak her language. I want the language barrier, the surviving in the middle of nowhere, the panic of finding yourself on another planet, and the ‘is this Eros or death drive?’ Freudian self-examination.
Except—our heroine wasn’t freaking out the way I wanted her to. Her academic background and space mission training meant she had a calm and intellectual approach to alien planets and rescuers.
Which made me realize something: as fun as sci-fi worldbuilding and hunky aliens are, what I’m really looking for is a premise that makes our human heroine sweat. How cruel of me.
I know there’s a reader out there that would love this setup to an alien romance—but apparently I’m too much of a fictional character sadist 😆
This author hit the target dead center. The first book took some time getting acquainted with the setting, but once it was established, the rest was history. Unlike other alien love stories, this doesn’t take place on Earth, the Earthlings weren’t kidnapped for some financial interest, nor was there some human bride scheme. Nope. This was a simple fiction taking place in the distant future where space travel is common.
A group of human females traveled through the galaxy on a space mission to map out another planet. During transit, their spacecraft hits something, and the passengers are forced to flee in the escape pods. The pods land on the nearest planet, where there’s a group of aliens who also got stranded on the same planet from a crash. And here’s where the plot got confusing, at first.
So these Aliens come from a planet where they all live in a spacecraft, big enough to house thousands of Destrans. Here’s the kicker though: these “spacecrafts” are actually ALIVE and are sentient beings. When their planet became overpopulated, the Sola (name for the sentient ship) had 7 babies. Those baby ships (aka Solas) chose Destran Warriors (deemed captains of sorts) to “connect to” and gave them the title of “Lord.” These Lords had the memories of their past lives erased, to where all that remained was the relationship between Lord and Sola. Hundreds of Destrans chose to leave their overpopulated planet with these 7 Solas and their Lords to find a new planet to settle on and grow. These Solas provide for its inhabitants, including food and healthcare, but it must set down roots to grow first. The substance the Solas produces is heavily sought after, so of course, the Destrans have enemies. Those said enemies attacked the traveling Solas and they crashed landed on the same planet as the 7 human women.
Are you still following me so far? Because that’s a big narrative to wrap one’s head around.
7 Lords. 7 human women. All stranded on a planet together. One by one, the Lords save the human women before saving their Solas and hunt for their brother Lords and sister Solas. Only when they are together again can they leave the dangerous planet.
My biggest pet peeve when an author refers to “coitus” is when they substitute it with the generic “sex.” For example: “He lifted me up to where his head pressed against my sex, then plunged into me with one swift thrust.” There are SO MANY WORDS a writer can use aside from “sex,” so I view the usage as incredibly lazy. Aside from that aggravation, these books are very well written. Full of adventure and love, this has quickly become one of my favorite series. I can’t wait for the next book to be released. Heavily recommended if you are into alien love stories.

Not even 1 star. Got to give it to write this: The book goes down the drain fast as soon as she meets that alien I was done with this nonsense
Still have no idea what he looks like only he seems to be blue? Or had blue marks? I have no idea. So you think he looks like the dude on the cover. Human with blue Tattoo like marking what ever...
The communication between her and him make you brain dead. Terribly done:
Author writes what both are saying and it is like Tele Tubies or other bs. Yea I get it, they do not understand each other and it sounds gibberish to them what the other is saying. That does not mean you have to write it that way, so the reader gets disgusted in keeping on reading and has to guess what is said. This is so otter rubbish.
Bluu Pritti, Waat do-eu want, Eim saeving this, Whattis-at stuff... That nonsense mixed with what ever made up language he is speaking : En diga lan, An sigly... You have no idea what is going on.
He leads her to what ever place ( ship or stone who knows ) and now they can understand each other because the Sola ( what ever that is for it doesn`t sound like a computer more like a entity) gives him the ability to understand her.. doesn`t say he can speak her language or she can now magically understand him because of this thing.. what ever.
This book is a mess. Both do not react like you would react on a planet and never seen the other species at all. They act like they known each other for years.. that is the vibe. Doesn`t fit the situation at all. And that after she crashed in her pot on an unknown planet... Give me a break.
She is so top professional and her crew also, that must be the reason the survival backpack has NOTHING , not even shoes! that will help if you get stranded, like it should in the first place. No one is that stupid.
Sorry but the first 70 pages are enough for me to stop and put this book in the trash. I am done. I do not care what happens to her or the others that crashed, if they find them or not, if they are even there or not.. I do not care. The Series is dead on arrival for me.
Savair rescues Jetta from a trap and keeps her safe. He takes her back to his ship (Sola) and the sentient ship is able to make it so they can communicate with each other. But his Sola is dying and because they are connected, so is he.
Jetta was on a ship that got attacked. She and the other women who were on a research mission crash landed on a planet where they find themselves in a lot of danger. There are friendly aliens like Savair and most of his people and then there are the Brakken who are not nice at all and might just eat anyone they find.
Savair thinks that Jetta might be his mate and he wants to keep her even though some of his people don't think he should have a mate since his first priority should be to his Sola. He and his sentient ship are connected and most leaders who have a Sola do not get mates as well so some of his people are having a hard time accepting Jetta.
Jetta sets out to save some of the women who were on the ship with her and she shows Savair and his people that she is more than just a mate, she can be helpful too and she was. The Sola was strange though and I had some problems in the way she acted. I'm calling the Sola a she because she gave off female vibes to me. But she had secrets and I didn't like that she wasn't more forthcoming. There were a few small questions that came up in this story that never got answered and that bugged me. It did end up being a good read though.
This one is super sweet. Saviar and Jetta are just adorable!

3.5 // I almost DNFd this but I’m glad I pushed through. It has some cool sci-fi elements to the world building and I really didn’t want to give up even though I grew bored mid-book. It would have benefitted from a little more editing to tighten the story where it lags but it’s a fun, different plot that’s worth a read.
The MMC is a symbiont to a living ship called a Sola. The Sola’s travel in groups tethered together by stalks and prefer to attach to barren or depleted planets. A battle with antagonists forced them to break apart landing scattered across an in chosen planet. Lord Destra’s Sola is dying and as her symbiont, so is he. The Sola’s stalk is afflicted with rot where it planted down and is unable to obtain enough nourishment to fully nourish the civilization she carries.
Lord Destra encounters a stranded human female who fell to the planet in an escape pod only to end up in an enemies trap. He rescues her and recognizes her as his mate returning with her to his ship.
It’s a race to rescue the other human females who fell to the planet as well as save the Sola from enemies who would strip her of her precious nutrient she produces.
**Mild Spoilers ahead** Savair is a Lord of Destra, one of a race of beings who is bound to a living ship as a symbiont. He is responsible for taking care of the ship, and the many beings that live aboard it. Jetta is a human woman who became stranded on another world when the research ship they were on crashed. Rescued from a trap by Savair, she is introduced to this alien race and surprised when he declares them mates. But this is an alien world for them both, and it harbours many dangers, not all of them as remote as one might wish…
This is an entertaining sci-fi romance, with an unusual twist in the introduction of the Solas- the living ships. The usual sci-fi romance things we all love and enjoy are present too: sex, love, betrayal, enemies, an unknown future… but it’s an enjoyable trip thus far, with some intriguing characters (I admit to finding the Solas my favourite character!), an interesting overarching/underlying plot line, and the promise of future stories to come!
This one is a good read for fans of sci-fi romance with an alien hero!
Good, quick, story, interesting take on alien romance!
She crashed on an alien planet and he is her only chance of surviving. She is hesitant and cautious, which seems more realistic than some other heroines in this genre. This is a slow burn romance and they get to know each other a little before they hit the sheets. The sentient space craft is an interesting addition and makes this story different than most. It is a short and easy read but very enjoyable. The only negative is that after reading the whole story I don't really know anything about the Destrin culture other than they have fated mates, live in sentient space ships and change colors. I wish the culture was explained a bit more but that may come in other books. I am excited to see what happens to the rest of the characters in the book. This does have an HEA but there are a lot of unanswered questions at the end
This is the first book in the series and I am glad that I stumbled upon it. I am looking forward to reading more books in this series. It’s the troupe of a human female who ship crashes and is rescued by a handsome, attractive, strong, and warrior male. There were other women on the ship, so there will be more books to come. However the author has put an interesting twist to the story because Savair and his people, the Destrabar, are unique. They live with nature through their symbiont ship. The world building is intriguing and draws you in for more. Also the author did not make us suffer for long due to the language barrier between the lead characters. Some authors drag it out and it drags the story so it was a pleasant surprise that this book did not do that. It’s a solid first book. . . . Read On!
I devoured this ENTIRE series within a week. I loved every book. The female leads were strong, well distinguished between each other, and they were all very successful women who contributed as a whole.
I thought the concept was so interesting, having the Destrans be reliant on their Solas to live. I also can't resist a fated mate. Gimme more!
Each male character was well thought out between each other and it was easy to tell them apart.
The antagonist was plausible and each book leads you closer and closer to the answers.
I absolutely adored this series. Just enough smut to satisfy a "feel good" but not enough for you to roll your eyes and cringe.
I don't feel like these should be a standalone. Mainly because of the antagonist. It needs to be read as a series.
Lost to the Alien Lord is book 1 in the Lords of Destra series. This is an other planet, destined mates, alien romance between 34 year old human, Jetta, and Lord Saviar, a Destran Lord, set in the future. It is a really interesting premise with the lord being connected to the ship, his sola, and the ship being a sentient being. There are some minor continuity issues with language and understanding for various characters, but it didn’t affect the overall storyline. This book is written in alternating POV of the two main characters. Both narrators did a wonderful job. This book ends with 2 hours left and includes the novella book 0.5 Found by the Alien Lord. Overall, I really enjoyed this book. 4.5 stars!
None of these hurr bishes end up with the guys you think they will, and I LOVE THAT. I also love that the leading ladies are over their twenties, plus they're smart but not overbearingly so. I mean, they're assertive, sure--but they don't talk-down unnecessarily to the beings around them, and I appreciated that. Sometimes rudeness is a plot device, and I'm not a huge fan of that.
Overall, this series is great, I had a fabulous time reading what's currently available, and I can't wait for the next installment. There are typos, sure, but nothing earth-shattering, the plots are definitely worth it in my opinion.
Story starts out really good Everything you read is good . There's lots of action There's hatred There's love There's feelings of Salvation. But the story doesn't end You have to go to the next book to find the ending. And even then I don't think you're gonna find it. Until the end of the other books until the end of the story. Once I get to the last book Then I will review the story In full But I have to finish all the books. For the full story So far it's good I hope they get better as they go.
Different take on alien romance with a living spacecraft. I was expecting a more wholesome “you’re mates, come here you get the same treatment as your dude” not the whole closed door, distrustful “relationship” with the FMC.
I’ve been on such a solid “women supporting women” roll that I couldn’t help but hate extra hard on that dynamic here. Why does it always have to be the other jealous female?? It’s tiring. One time I want it to be the cat. Or some other straight out of left field, wackadoodle entity.
I’m really digging this new series with aliens and live ship symbiotic relationships. The Destran Lord Saviar rescues a human, Jetta, that has crash landed on the same planet his people landed on. He immediately lights up with mate markings but humans don’t work that way and he has to earn her love and acceptance in the midst of attacks by other aliens and with a sickly symbiont. I loved the action and the steam and can’t wait to read the next book!
Awesome story about a group of women who get stranded on a strange world after their ship is destroyed 😕. But, they find out that they aren't the only ones stranded and there's some Really Bad aliens who are out to get them both 😲. Totally Amazing are the ships that the good people are in 😃. Thanks Ella, I'm enjoying this story so much I can't wait to read more 🤓.
She is a geologist whose ship is possibly attached and then her escape pod ends up on a planet not known to Earthlings. She ends up in a trap and is rescued by a big hot alien.
Savair is from a planet whose kind live on living ships. His ships as well as his 6 brothers get trained on this planet. And they are hunted by another race of aliens.
This is a great start to a new series. I made the mistake of reading the first chapter at the office. I couldn’t put it down but I have to because I have work to do. Well, to compromise, I read snippets of it, or a chapter if time allowed. I couldn’t wait to get home to fully enjoyed the book. I am loving this one.
Ella Blake is a new to me author and this is the first book by her I've read. It won't be the last! Where to begin? The characters are wonderfully written. They are people I want to know. The world building is outstanding. The story engrossing and well written. I have utterly enjoyed this book and can't wait for the next one in the series.
Such a great book! I love it when the h is more than just a placeholder, one that actually DOES something to contribute to the story. I also loved the idea of the symbiotic relationship between the lords and their Solas! Very eager for the next book to come out. Especially since it's the seemingly broody lord
Pretty good start to the series. I definitely walked away with more questions than answers in this first book, but it's different from a lot of other alien books I've read. The idea of the living, sentient ship is interesting and I want to see what happens as the ships and their bonded lords try to save themselves on this less than hospitable planet.
To the humans crashed on alien planet story. Liked the oddness and way author did not try to humanize the others. Too many try to make only aliens similar to humans as good and all others bad. To them we and our customs are alien as well.
This was really entertaining! I really enjoyed this. The heroine was strong and resilient and the hero was delicious and sweet. The plot was interesting and fun.
I like my alien romances to be a little spicier, with more alien sexy goodness, but this was still a fun time and I'll be checking out more by this author.
Truthfully I'm not sure if I've read this author before. The book was really good but kind of predictable, human female falls for Alien male. I found the aliens transport ships interesting and they were not predictable but so much hardship. For a change I'd like things to run smoothly sometimes.
