IF SHE LIVES is book 3 in the Harlow Series, a psychological thriller/ psychological drama by Erik Therme. Having loved the first two books, I was anxious to continue with the series.

The novels in the Harlow Series Include:
1. If She Dies (2021)
2. If She Wakes (2022)
3. If She Lives (2023)

This book will read as a standalone but I recommend you take advantage and read all three books in the series to gain a better appreciation of the growth of the characters.

This is my review of If She Lives.

In this third book of the series, Tess is faced with moving on with her life and after her daughter, Lily is kidnapped and then murdered. In the interim, she has separated from her husband, Josh.

Tess has been assisting her sister-in-law, Torrie by taking care of her six-month-old son, Levi, during the day when Torrie works. But then, Tess’s nephew is kidnapped.

Tess must do whatever she can to save her nephew.

But her troubled past has other plans, and when an old threat reemerges, Tess must seek the help of an unlikely ally to set things right.

No matter what the cost.

The fast-paced novel has an excellent plot and is packed full of twists and turns, with engaging characters to ramp up the suspense level. So many lies and deceit, and not sure who to trust along the way and difficult to guess who was telling the truth. The ending to this trilogy was satisfying when the truth was finally revealed.

Many thanks to the author and The Book Club Reviewer Request Group (FB) for my digital copy.

My Review:
Loved!!!!! The perfect ending to the perfect series. It had everything I look for in a great series. It had great characters, great plots, and of course my favorite great endings. Everything came full circle to a nice conclusion to the series. Now let’s dive into this book. It was a fast paced read that kept me interested the whole entire time. I read it in a day. It was just that good. What I also liked was that in the beginning of the book it gave a recap of the past books. That really helped me remember what exactly happened before. I read a lot of books in a year so it’s hard to remember what details goes with what book. This was so wonderful that the author did this. It definitely refreshed my memory. Once again I loved all the characters in this. Every single one of them had a purpose to the story and they each made the story fantastic. I also loved that the plot in this book came full circle with the plots in the past two books. Next up is my favorite part, the ending. It rocked. This ending had me shocked and also left me speechless. While I was reading it all I kept saying was OMG. This author is one of my favorites and this series proved why. He does have a few stand alone books that I have enjoyed as well. Please check those out as well.

In conclusion, the plot, the characters and all the twists in this book made this book an enjoyable read. I would definitely recommend it and happily give it 5 Hearts❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

BLOG TOUR REVIEW

Review for 'If She Lives' by Erik Therme.

Read and reviewed for Zooloo's Book Tours, Erik Therme and Thecker Books.

Publication date 8th March 2023.

This is the first book I have read by this author. It is also the third book in the 'Harlow' series but can be read as a standalone.

I was originally drawn to this book by its eye catching cover and intriguing sounding synopsis and title. I must admit I was also biased due to the publisher being Thecker Books. I have yet to read a book published by Thecker Books that I haven't enjoyed. Hopefully this won't be the first... Watch this space! (Written before I started reading the book).

This novel consists of a prologue, 24 chapters and an epilogue. The chapters are short in length so easy to read 'just one more chapter' before bed...OK, I know yeah right, but still just in case!

This book is based in West Virginia, USA 🇺🇸

This book is written in first person perspective and the main protagonists is Tess Parker. The benefits of books written in first person perspective are as long as they are well written it makes you feel that you are being spoken to by the protagonist and it can create more of a bond between yourselves and them.

Wow!!! Absolutely LOVED this non stop, action packed and suspense filled page turner!! This may be the first book I have read by you Erik but it most definitely will not be the last!!! Absolutely loved this book and cant wait to get stuck in to the rest of the books in this series!!!

This book is extremely well written with vivid descriptions that really set the scene and put you in the storyline. The cover and synopsis suit the book perfectly.

The storyline was captivating and addictive from the first page until the last and I was completely invested in it. It was absolutely rammed full of lies, secrets, tension, twists, suspense and everything you could ask for in a page turning psychological thriller. I just could not put this book down and finished it in one sitting. Although this is the third book in the 'Harlow' series Erik begins the book with a recap of what has happened in the previous two books and gives just enough of an idea of what went on between the characters previously. I cannot wait to go back and read the other two books starting with 'If She Dies' and then moving on to 'If She Wakes'. This book was such a fast paced and short read where Erik absolutely rams the storyline with action and suspense while making the reader question who they can trust and what is really going on that I absolutely flew through it in one sitting!! It is absolutely perfect if you are looking for a short action packed page turner! It was extremely fast paced with something constantly happening to keep you addicted. Every time I kept telling myself one more chapter the one I was in ended at a point where there was no way I could stop reading so I absolutely devoured it in one sitting!! It was absolutely ram packed with mystery, secrets, lies, revenge, tension, suspense and absolutely everything you could ask for in a psychological thriller. This was the first book that I have read by Erik and it most definitely wont be the last!!! In fact I enjoyed this book so much that he has now become one of my top five make authors and I really cannot wait to jump into not only the other books in this series but also his standalone books too which all look just as intriguing and as Action packed as this one so watch this pace for further reviews of his books! Erik's evocative writing drags you deep into the storyline from the first sentence to the very last and will keep you up until the very last word! THAT ladies and gentleman is a true sign of an absolute must read!!I would absolutely LOVE to see this turned into a movie and would wait up all night to get tickets to watch it!!

An intriguing and clever page turner that will keep you up all night!! An absolute must read series!!! I hope your busy writing your next book Erik as I just cannot wait to see what bombshell twist and explosive storyline you have up your sleeve for us next!!!!

Although this is the third book in the series I had would have had absolutely no problems reading it without the others. Any details or events that have previously happened are mentioned in just the right amount of detail to let a new reader know what has happened and yet not too much to bore a previous reader.

Do not start this book until you have cleared your schedules as you will not be able to put it down!!

The characters were all realistic and strong and I was completely invested in them throughout. Erik has done an absolutely fantastic job on creating complex characters that you have no idea whether you can trust or not!! There are several main characters in this book and I liked the fact that each of them played a strong part in the storyline and played their parts perfectly. The main characters are Tess, Torrie, (her sister in law), Gordon, Willow, Meg (Eve's Mum) and Eve (Meg's Daughter). My heart went out to Tess as she was going through so much mentally. Although this is the first time I have met her the start of the book gives a recap of what happened in the first two book and was enough to throw anyone over the edge and then she suffers what happens in this book. My heart really did go out for her and as a mum myself I really couldn't imagine going through what she did and yet she is a strong woman who chooses the right paths and even when we get to the end and she could quite easily get some comeuppance she stills decides to chose differently. Meg and Willow are complex characters and I did know which of them to trust and whether to trust either of them at all. Another character I feel sorry for was Eve who also seemed to be innocent and stuck in the middle of things that she has not got a clue about at times. Again with Gordon it was my first time meeting him and I was not sure what to think of him or whether to believe what he was saying. I wont say any more about what I think of them as I don't want to give too much away and potential spoil it for future readers. They are a great group of characters that I am looking forward to meeting again when I read the first two books in this series which are 'If She Dies' which is book one and 'If She Wakes' which is book two. If you want to know more about these amazing characters you will just have to pick up your copy to find out who is right, who was wrong and what happens to them all and trust me you will not regret it!!! Regardless of what I thought about who, each character worked perfectly to make this page turning psychological thriller!!!

Congratulations Erik on an absolutely huge success!! I cannot wait to get stuck in to the first two books in this fantastic series and more of your fantastic books! Welcome to my favourite 5 male authors list!! Here's to your next success 🥂!!

Overall an absolutely unputdownable, action packed, intriguing psychological thriller that will keep you up at night on the edge of your seat with a pounding heart!!

Genres covered in this book include Suspense, Domestic Fiction, Vigilante Justice, Kidnapping Crime Fiction, Murder, Domestic Thriller, Psychological Thriller, Women's Psychological Fiction, Suspense Thriller, Domestic Thriller, Mystery, Domestic Thriller, Thriller, Kidnapping Crime Thriller and Psychological Fiction amongst others.

I would recommend this book to the fans of the above as well as fans of Mark Edwards, Cathryn Grant, Teresa Driscoll, Freida McFadden, Daniel Hurst, K. L. Slater, Mark Edwards and anyone looking for an explosive psychological thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout!!

201 pages.

This book is just £3.31 to purchase on kindle, free on Kindle Unlimited and £11.30 in Hardcover (at time of review) via Amazon which I think is an absolute bargain for this book!!!

There is something entirely magnetic about Tess and those who surround her. There is a kind of convoluted perfect chaos which is very compelling to watch (read) and it really draws you in.
The backstory is quite complex, despite having read the earlier books, I was glad of the reminders and summaries of what had gone before. The inter links and relationships of her family and friends takes some headspace to understand but it is rewarding when it clicks together.
The action is fast in this particular book with the uneasy feeling of never fully knowing who to trust and the suspense builds up nicely. The complexities of grief and family ties is also well and sensitively explored. I really enjoyed this and am glad I came along for the ride, I already can’t wait for the next book.

If She Lives is the third in a series of three books. They are called standalone novels but I recommend that you read them in numerical order to fully appreciate the intricate sequence of events.

It has been just two months since the harrowing events that ended book two. Tess and her husband Josh remain separated and are making no real effort to repair their damaged marriage. Tess is living with Torrie, the widow of her beloved brother, and provides daycare for her nephew, Torrie’s six month old son Levi. Torrie has recovered from the severe head trauma she sustained in the auto accident in the previous book. As this book opens, Tess, for the first time in a long time, considers herself content.

Until she’s not. Tess becomes convinced, beyond merely fearing or suspecting, that Gordon, the brother of her childhood girlfriend who caused her so much anguish in the previous book, is still alive and is still a mortal danger to her. Then a fire, which may or may not have been caused by arson, damages Torrie’s house so badly that she decides to take Levi and move back to live with her sister Mia in West Virginia, shattering Tess’s tranquility.

And then Tess begins receiving mysterious anonymous text messages. I won’t reveal who they’re from or why they were sent so as not to ruin the many surprises in store for you, but they involve Gordon and whether Tess will run away or stay and fight. Or as it turns out for Tess, running away is one way for her to fight as she forms an unlikely alliance with a former adversary. But as she learns soon enough, it’s not only Gordon she needs to worry about.

As Tess herself says, “Every time I think things can’t get more complicated than they already are, they somehow do.” If nothing else, Tess is a master of understatement.

As we know, I love psychological thrillers and have once again jumped into an established series. This is the third book in the Harlow series and I would recommend reading these in order. Despite my jumping in at the end, this book was enjoyable yet there were aspects I would have liked to know more about. I'll definitely be circling back to read the first two to close the gaps.

This book is well written and drew me in immediately. The author does an excellent job of building suspense while also creating a story with a lot of layers. As I read the book, I kept thinking about the layers of an onion and how much depth to the plot.

I like how strong Tess is. Despite being through several horrific events, she is resilient and determined to make the most of her life. Filled with twists and turns you won't see coming, this book will fully immerse you. I look forward to reading more from this author.

There’s something compelling about Tess and the chaotic danger that surrounds her. So compelling that I read this book in two sessions, unable to put it down until there was a brief pause in the action. We met Tess in the first book of the trilogy and this is the third time we’ve been swept up in the drama of her life.

"If She Lives" begins as Tess struggles to return her life to some semblance of normal after the death of her daughter and later, the kidnapping of her nephew. She decides to separate from her husband and simultaneously discovers 1) some disturbing facts about her spouse and 2) evidence that an old enemy is not dead, but on her trail determined to even an old score.

One thing we already know about Tess is that she often makes dumb choices when faced with any kind of decision, small or large. And so we are off to the races again, trying to figure out who in this crazy cast of characters is the enemy and who might be a friend after all. And while we turn the pages in panic and hold our breath with Tess in the dark, we want to scream at her about letting her phone go dead because she left the charger back at the motel.

The author introduces a new character into the mix just as the action begins in earnest and while this young girl Willow is pretty much just a tag-along teen in the beginning, her character takes on some real depth as she and Tess are pulled deeper and deeper into the road trip from hell. Tess’s attempts to help not one, but all of the other people in the story gives us plenty of time to question her impulsive decisions but the mystery and the ending are both a nice wrap-up for the trilogy.

I was given a review copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. If you like mysteries with a solid dose of family drama rather than politics or spies or medical horrors, I can highly recommend all three books in the Harlow series, including this one "If She Lives".

This concludes a trilogy for which Tess is the central character. She's been through a lot, losing her daughter, her nephew was kidnapped, her marriage has broken down. However it seems things have settled into some kind of routine. That is until she receives a text.
This was quite a short book, with short chapters, that made it a very quick read, one that you would struggle to put down, I know I did at any rate.
When Willow and Eve enter the story the tension really ramps up, and you really wonder what the truth is, and if you can trust any of the characters.
The final climax is clever and a great twist to the tale to end it.
As a random aside, I don't believe Tess and her separated husband should be together. No matter how much Torrie thinks otherwise!
This read perfectly as a standalone but you'd have a lot more context to the background of all the characters of you read the previous two.
I ike Erik's style and will be looking out for future books by this author.

I’d like to thank Zoe from Zooloo’s Book Tours for contacting me to take part in this blog tour. I read the previous books in the series and was looking forward to seeing how this trilogy concluded.

🔥With an explosive start we are thrown into the chaos that is Tess’s life. What I will say about Erik Therme is he doesn’t hang about, his stories are fast-paced and action-packed from page to page.

🕵🏻‍♀️At less than 200 pages this book can easily be enjoyed in one sitting, which is exactly what I did. Before I knew it I was over halfway through the story and did not move until it was over.

⭐You can’t help but doubt everyone in the story and just when you think you have figured it out another curve ball is thrown into the ring.

😊The whole series is brilliant and explores a lot of issues surrounding parenting, grief and survival guilt. You find yourself questioning your morals and sympathising with Tess on multiple occasions.

This was the perfect conclusion to a great series. I will be sad to say goodbye to Tess but hope to read more books by Erik Therme in the future.

If She Lives is the third book in the Harlow trilogy. Although I got the jist of what had previously happened I felt I was missing out on a lot of the context from the previous books, so I'd urge you to start from the beginning.

The plot was addictive, I couldn't stop reading it, there was always something happening to keep my brain engaged.

Tess hasn't been through the wringer much has she, poor woman. She was such a strong character, complex, yet strong, resilient and deserving of a happy ever after.

Fast paced, twisty and so compelling!

Many thanks to Zooloo's Book Tours for my tour spot.

This is a short, but fast paced novel. It’s full of action, suspense with a bit of love. This could easily be read in one day if your looking for a quick & suspenseful novel. I didn’t feel lost although I haven’t read the other books in this series. The author makes it easy for you to understand the past storyline by filling you in with bits throughout the book. I enjoyed reading IF SHE LIVES. It always takes me a bit longer to read ebooks, as I prefer to hold a actual book in my hand. With that being said… if you’re like me; don’t let that stop you from reading this one. It’s worth it! Thank you goodreads giveaways for another wonderful read!

The third in the series and in my opinion, they do not standalone. In order to understand Tess, you need to read the first two or else you’d be shouting at the book and asking her why she’s making the choices she makes.
Not my favourite of the three as it’s a little far fetched for my liking. Don’t get me wrong, the writing is good and the complexity and layers of intrigue are evident. It’s worth reading to find out what happens next and it’s been well thought out. However. there are elements that are not needed and decisions made that are not integral to the plot.

i read the other of this series, i like how she reminded us of the other books by having her tell the story to the counselor. you have to read them in order so you can follow the story
i loved one and two, im so lucky to find 3 free!

she is separated from her husband, her daughter was killed in the parking lot by a drunk driver and she wasnt watching her close enough

her brother was sick and died, he had a daughter. she moved in with her sister in law and helped with the baby while she worked. the baby was kidnapped but they got him back. she was in a car accident with the sister in law who now has scars on her face. the sister in laws house burned and she took the baby and moved out of state. she asked her to move with her but she didnt. she found a room for rent with a older lady whos son hates her husband since childhood, said he was a bully. her husband wants to get back with her, but she doesnt think it will work.

the drunk driver was murdered by the man she hired who was obsessed with her, only she didnt know it. the drunk drivers wife and daughter are on the run

now the lady contacted her, the pi she hired was thought to be dead, but hes telling the lady to kidnap her and he would leave them alone. or he would kill her daughter so she could suffer like the lady is. the police wont do anything to help, they think he is dead

she took off with the daughter and her friend while the mom went to look for the pi man and put a end to it

but she didnt know it was willow, the friend that was the bad person. she ended up handcuffing them both in the basement of the old farm house. her sister in law and nephew werent there thankfully

but then the girls mom showed up, then the man, they figured out it was the girl and she was accidentally shot and killed

i think she is going to go back with her husband, he is coming to meet her there

Tess Parker is just trying to get on with her life after her daughter is kidnapped and then murdered. Tess and her husband have gone their separate ways. Her husband wants to try and work things out but Tess just wants to move on and get on with her life. She doesn't think that she can go back to her old life after losing her daughter.

Tess has been helping out her sister-in-law by taking care of her nephew. Tragedy strikes Tess’s life once again when her nephew is kidnapped. An old enemy from her past makes an appearance in her life once again bringing everything back to the present, and opening up old wounds.

Tess must look for help from someone whom she never thought to have contact with again. But she will do whatever she must to save her nephew from the same faith as her daughter. The twists just keep popping out. But the more the better, right?

If She Lives drew me in from the first page and never let up until the very last page came in sight. I was kept on the edge of my seat racing past each page wanting to flip said pages faster than I could do so as I kept wondering what lay ahead for Tess and especially her nephew.

The Harlow Series has been an amazing read. I enjoyed the ride tremendously. I can’t wait to read more by this author, Erik Therme.

I enjoyed this series so much that I would highly recommend each book in the series to all mystery fans! Grab your copy of If She Lives today!

I chose to read this book after receiving a free e-copy from the author. All opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased.

I have read Erik Therme‘s books and enjoy his writing style and the suspense in his books. I read the first two books in this series, If She Dies and If She Wakes. Of course, I had to read the last book in the series to find out what happens!

Tess is not as much of a mess as she was in the first two books. She’s realizing the mistakes she made in the past, although she was a grieving mother with little support, so it’s kind of understandable. She and her sister-in-law, Torrie, have become close and Tess has been staying with her since she separated from her husband, Josh. She takes care of Levi, Torrie’s baby, while Torrie works.

Tess is happy in her current situation, so, of course, it doesn’t last for long. Torrie’s house catches on fire and things spiral from there. She’s scared for herself and her family, and the journey she ends up taking is full of suspense.

The ending was satisfactory. It was a bit of a surprise, but I knew there was something…I just couldn’t put my finger on it! If She Lives is a standalone novel, but I suggest reading all three in order to get the most out of it.

My sincere thanks to @letstalkbookspromo and @eriktherme for my complimentary copy! My thoughts are my own.

I have read and enjoyed this well-written series since it’s beginning! This novel (as well as the whole series) has several twists and surprises! The characters are complicated and fully developed. I was not sure how this story would end, but I was completely surprised (and pleased) by the conclusion!

It has been a year since I read Book 2 and I had to go back and read my notes to refresh my memory. However, the author does a great job recapping previous events during a conversation Tessa has in the first chapter. Each story can be read as a stand-alone, and each novel is relatively short, making for a fast read. So, even though you can read book 3 as a stand—alone, why not start with book 1? They are all currently available on Kindle Unlimited.

Read this series if you enjoy:
*major plot twists and surprises
*complicated and flawed (but relatable) characters
*strong female characters

I cannot believe this trilogy is over. I am very sad to say goodbye to these characters but the main character, Tess, has been through so much. This instalment was very gripping and the whole series are definitely a page turners. The plot continues throughout the series and it is very entertaining, they make you feel so many emotions while reading it.

Firstly in the book I loved how the author included a summary of what happened in the previous two books but the summary was written into the plot of this book which was nice rather than the summary just being paragraphs of information. When it was written this way, it reminded me how it made the character feel at this time so I could remember the emotions I felt as well. Also the way it is written, it ties in all the other books and begins to set the scene of this book.

This plot is so good and I liked how the author built up the suspense and created a scary atmosphere. I was literally sitting on the edge of my seat when I got to certain parts of the book. The book is so action packed and the whole series was planned out very well! There were also many plot twists in this book, some characters from previous books are in this one but I wasn’t sure how much to trust them and I had the same thoughts about some of the new characters this author brought into this book. There was a lot of deceit from some characters so it was difficult to guess who was telling the truth. It was satisfying when the truth finally got revealed at the end, I didn’t guess the ending but I was very happy with the ending.

Overall, I thought this was such a good wrap up of the trilogy and I am sad to see these amazing characters, especially Tess, go. I definitely want to pick up some of this authors other books as I really enjoyed the suspense and the plot of this series. I feel like I read this book so quickly, I felt like that with the rest of the series as well. It is a good binge series to read because of how gripping it is. I highly recommend picking up this series if you haven’t already.

Ohmygosh. Loved this book! Erik Therme does such a good job of creating characters who seem trustworthy, only to pull the rug out from under you. And the ones you didn't think you could trust? Maybe they're the ones you should have! I feel sorry for his protagonist, Tess Parker, careening through life without knowing who to trust, but (gosh!) it makes for a great book! There were times I wanted to shake her and say 'obviously THIS person is going to help you,' only to realize a few pages later that I was completely wrong. Compelling story, GREAT characters, and a fantastic twist at the end that will keep you guessing until the last page (at which point you start to wonder if Tess is really about to achieve her happily ever after, or if disaster looms).
Love it, love it, love it! Can't wait to see what he comes up with next!

The third book in the Harlow series, this story line is fast-paced and a definite binge read. Tess is back and she is in ALL the drama and this is sure not to disappoint any of her fans! She has to figure out who she can trust and where the truth lies. I thought for sure I had everything figured out, but the twists just kept coming and I was quite surprised by the ending. At times I got very angry with Tess, and I like this as this means I am fully invested in her as a character and I want only the best for her. Without giving anything away, I am thrilled to see that Erik wrapped up this series nicely at the end.

While I think this book could read as a standalone, I do think readers should read books one and two first. This is definitely a binge-worthy series for those that love a lot of drama, intrigue, and action.

If She Lives
By @eriktherme

I rarely read a mystery but this one is amazing. The story just went on without wasting words. The ending was surprising, I didn't expect it to happen in that way. Told in the first person point of view which is something I always like.
I don't have much to say about this book but I enjoyed it a lot, even though it was a short book. There are two previous books in this trilogy that I haven't read them yet. Yeah, this one is book 3😭! But you don't need the previous books to get along with the story in this book 3 as it just went on easily.
Hopefully, I'll have more time to read book 1 and 2.

Thank you to the author and @zooloosbooktours for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I just finished if She Lives after being up half the night to read until the end. A book that was hard to put down.
Envious of the readers who get to read the three books together. My greatest love of these books and all of Erik Therme's books is the fast pace. If She Lives is quite a ride. Intense, complicated which makes it a true thriller for me. I never knew where the book was going which in turn caused a few heart stopping momments. I found the book easy to follow as I had read both books quite some time ago. It could almost work as a stand alone read. All in all a brilliant way to end a series I loved. Now anticipating the next Erik Therme Novel.

I am ever so glad that Tessie was able to finally put all her issues to rest. As always, the author provides such a well written story. I am not a big fan of Meg. She pretty much looks out for herself and Eve. Even in this book, although sort of helping Tessie, she still makes it very clear she is out for number one. I think that Tess has faced so much loss that she had just had enough. I was not sure how this book was going to close out the series and this book tied everything up nice.

I really enjoyed this book and couldn't put it down, I was hooked right from the very start.

The writing is good and really drew me in from the get go and engaged me all the way through, the storyline is compelling and the characters are well developed and believable.

The plot is fast paced and gripping full of tense atmosphere and action. The twists kept me guessing and there is a good amount of unpredictability in this book.

A great read

This is the third in the Harlow series but reads well as a standalone. That being said, I’m going back to read the first two to flesh out the wonderful characters.

Tess is moving on with her life & has been taking care of Torrie’s baby son while she’s at work. Then, he is kidnapped & Tess must do whatever she can to save her nephew. Whatever that may cost.

Fast-paced, brilliantly plotted & so many twists & turns I nearly came back on myself! As I said at the start, I’m going to read the first two & then read this again, to see what clues I missed. Fab read!

This domestic suspense has plenty of drama and lots of old scores that need to be settled.

This is the third book in the series and I love the way the author catches the reader up in the beginning of the book. The prologue presents the past information for those that are new to the series or those (like me) that forgot some of the details.

This is a quick read and a book that I felt where you had to stay on high alert because no character could be trusted.

A good read. Gripping thriller, with lots of surprises. I thought I had it figured out. But no. After the death of her daughter and the kidnapping of her nephew Tess is trying to move on with her life but her antagonists, Meg and Gordon, are still out there and continue to play havoc with her life.

It's worth reading the first two novels in the series for a more complete understanding of what is at stake in the third book.

Not having read the first two books in the series was my first mistake. Hard to learn all the history second hand.

Even so, I give the book 4 stars. It was a complicated plot with lots of twists. Tess and Meg are both mixed up women and Eve is just a character type. The only one with any depth is Willow and she’s a nut case!

I would recommend reading the books in order. It’s a confusing tale but interesting.

I absolutely enjoyed this series so much. I definitely want to read other books by this author.

In the very beginning my heart went out to Tess. First Lily passed away, she loses her brother, she gets into a car accident and her sister in law is in a coma and she feels so guilty because she thinks she is the one to blame, her marriage is basically done because of all the lies between her and Josh, the sneaking around, the doubt and the pain from losing a child. I’m not a big fan of Josh but you can tell he really tried his best.

Tess was super annoying at time but her heart was good.

I don’t think there there has ever been a character as unlucky as Tess Parker. After everything Tess has been through the final instalment ramps it up, who can Tess trust? Meg is back in her life after everything that happened but what is it she wants? What a fab read that ties up the story nicely.
