At fifty-five, Quinn Abernathy has been through her fair share of experiences in life.

One successful one.
And a nasty bout of breast cancer.
Life has been chockful of choices, both good and bad.
Hoping to leave the painful memories behind, Quinn books a weeklong stay at the Soul Awakens, a retreat known for helping lost souls find themselves again. It is here she hopes to shed her past turmoil, to forgive herself, and those who have wronged her. It is here she will learn that sometimes the past finds a way to creep back in ... and for Quinn, it's about to turn deadly.

Sloane Monroe Stories - Mystery Novella Series (with characters from the main series)
I’ll start off by saying I’m a big fan of this series. And I enjoyed catching up with the characters. That being said this was not my favorite of the series. I’m not exactly sure why. I think it’s because I actually didn’t feel invested in any of the characters surrounding the murder mystery. I will say I did not figure out who the killer was. Which was a good thing but even then I just didn’t feel usual satisfaction. I can’t tell if it is me or what. But it will not stop me from reading more because I really enjoy all the usual characters in this series.
A very well written murder mystery. Gigi and her colleagues and her family go to a retreat. Shortly into their stay, a guest in the next room is murdered. And off goes Gigi's curiosity and her need to find the answers. The characters are a diverse and fascinating group. One of these days, I will figure out who the culprit is before reading it. Today is not that day.
I’ll start off by saying I’m a big fan of this series. And I enjoyed catching up with the characters. That being said this was not my favorite of the series. I’m not exactly sure why.
Everywhere that Georgiana goes, death was sure to follow. While at a retreat to relax and refresh, the private detective finds herself thrown into work once again. She just can't catch a break. As usual, there are many a suspects. All with secrets. Since the crime takes place in the confounds of the resort, the suspects and crime scene are a little easier to contain. Everything takes place in the one location. (With the exception of some past events.) Since this takes place in a resort that is meant to refresh your mind and cleanse your soul, we get to see Georgiana in a slightly different way. She starts to open up a little more. Not a lot more, but a quick peek into her mind. There isn't really a big twist, but there are a few small surprising revelations, in addition to the big reveal. As is with the series, this is a 'clean' read. No sexual content, and no real violence. There is mention of suicide, talk of sexual relations (very vague,) and there is gun shots, but otherwise safe for teens and up. It reads quickly and easily. It's one of those mysteries that you really can't guess who dun-it. Well, might get a feeling about one suspect or another, but you won't be able to guess the how or why until it's revealed (even if you, as a reader, get the same info as Gigi the detective.) ;) While part of a series, this can be read as a stand alone without any troubles or spoilers.
Private Detective Georgiana Germaine decides to take her 2 co-workers, mother, sister and aunt on a retreat. What could go wrong? Simple, a fellow guest is killed in her room.
This busman’s holiday for Gigi is the 6th novel in this series and I believe it can be read as a stand-alone. I was disappointed with Little Shattered Dreams and consider it a POOR 2 star read. It was basically a game of Cluedo. This is a gated retreat, so the killer could have not got in from outside. Do the maths, 1 victim, 5 guests, 7 staff, 1 owner plus Gigi and her 5 family/friends. One of the 13 suspects killed Quinn - and slowly Gigi chats repeatedly to those 13 suspects until she solves the case. The plot was rather basic, with no surprises. There were no special investigative skills involved in solving the crime, only Gigi asking lots of questions. There was a lot of dialogue in this novel and Gigi got to know the 13 suspects very well, which does not make for an interesting story - more like a soap opera. Little Shattered Dreams was a tiresome read with very short chapters, making it routine to keep putting it down to do something better. Cheryl can write better novels but this is not one of them.

Quinn schedules a weeklong stay at a retreat where she plans to make life-altering changes. Things don’t quite go as planned.
Detective Georgiana Germaine, a couple of her team members, and a few family members are also at the retreat, but it’s nothing like Georgiana imagined it would be. Then there’s the murder of the guest in the room next to Georgiana, which she happens to find. There are plenty of suspects but what is the motive? Georgiana and her team are hired by the retreat owner to solve the crime. The murderer must be either an employee of the retreat or a guest so it should be easy to figure it out. But it seems that everyone is hiding something. And then there’s another murder. Someone high on the suspect list.
Georgiana Germaine is outstanding detective. Who doesn't stop until she finds the truth. A woman is found dead at a retreat and Georgiana is on the case. She's hired to find the truth as a second murder happens. But, unbeknownst to the killer, the victim identifies the killer. As the reader, you are able to figure out the killer within the first several chapters. But, the pages keep turning while Georgiana and her team figures it out. Georgiana Germaine is a strong female characters with some flaws everyone can relate to. While the back stories of the secondary characters are intriguing, Georgiana keeps the series a live. Looking forward to the next one
This series just gets better! This is the 6th Gigi book and I really liked it a lot. Like one reviewer said, one of these days I will figure out the killer before the reveal, but not this time. Gigi and her partners, mom, Aunt and sister all head to a retreat to relax. Didn't turn out to be the place Gigi thought it was and she was ready to go, when Quinn, her neighbor at the retreat was murdered. She then is asked by the chief of Police, who is dating her sister, to stay and help solve the crime. I really enjoyed the mystery and was surprised at the killer's identity. Great read!
. With each book we find out a little more about the main character. Georgiana and her past which makes me love her more. This time she goes to a retreat and the poor woman staying next door to her is murdered. Georgiana is hired by the owner to find out who did it. Being at the retreat gives her a chance to open up and share even more of her past. If you love a good who dun it this is a great book and even though it is part of a series you can read this and not be lost..
I absolutely Love this book. Georgina does it again ! This book draws you in with the retreat and the murder of Quinn. What is the secret from her past? This one has lots of twists and turns and have all of the employees overcame their past? I got drawn in and could not put the book down. The second murder really surprised me and I had no idea of who the murder was till the end. I cannot wait for the next one.
Okay I might say this every time but this is definitely my favorite of the series so far! Georgiana thinks she's getting away to finally relax at a spa/ retreat type of place, when she is once again found close to murder. But what I loved about this book and mystery in particular is the secluded area made it feel more like Clue. Nobody came or left so was it a staff member or another guest? What a roller coaster ride! I did not want to stop reading it!!
Georgiana and her family go to a retreat to relax and unwind. The spa is different than she was expecting. So she tries to make the best of it. Georgiana can not escape mysteries. Her neighbor at the spa was murdered! The victim has a hidden past. Georgiana is hired by the owner of the spa to help the police find the murderer. Many of the workers at the spa have criminal backgrounds. Will Georgiana solve the mystery before someone else gets hurt?
Another great read by Cheryl Bradshaw as the main character and some of her family goes to a retreat where...you guessed it, someone is murdered. Gigi has to find out who the murderer is and gets herself involved in the mix. Is it a staff member or a guest? I was unable to figure out the perp until it was revealed at the end. Excellent read!!!
I enjoy reading this author’s books. Looking forward to the next installment. Each book is written so that they can also be standalone which I appreciate. It was a good mystery and It was a surprise ending. Love her books. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys murder mystery books
Gigi is at The Soul Awakens retreat. A weeklong stay with classes on mindfulness, wellness, and overall care of one's soul. There she finds her neighbor Quinn Abernathy dead in her part of the duplex. Gigi is hired by the retreat's owner to find out what happened. One thing is for sure, she is being watched by someone-- maybe the killer? I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Georgiana signs her family and friends up for a much-needed break at a relaxing weeklong stay at The Soul Awakens, retreat. Things do not turn out the way she hoped when the neighbor next door is murdered. The owner of the retreat hires Georgiana to solve the murder. Can Georgiana unravel Quinn's past to determine who would want her dead? Georgiana Germaine books keep getting better and better!
I could not put it down. Again Cheryl Bradshaw didn’t disappoint. Each book in the series could be a standalone. With each book we discover more about Gigi, I love how spunky she is and how she doesn’t stop until she has solved the mystery. Looking forward to the next installment and see where she goes next. Great book.
Georgiana Germaine finds herself and her team faced with solving a murder in of all places, a health retreat. This is an intriguing mystery and as the clues mount it would seem that almost everyone has a possible motive. All in all this is a very satisfying read.
Gigi goes on a relaxing retreat to discover her inner self but her next door neighbour is murdered, who'd have thought it ? Well plotted investigation into the murder and when the second victim leaves a tenuous clue it is spotted by Georgianna to wrap up the case despite the red herrings that keep cropping up.
It was nice to be back with Georgiana on another murder mystery. A great story with plenty to keep the little grey cells working overtime. I enjoyed this book. I enjoyed being back with the girls. Great characters and a great setting. Not much rest of relaxation at this retreat.
This is a really good series. I love all the main characters in the story. I like the fact that the books are a quick read but you never feel like you are missing out on anything. The mysteries are good with little clues throughout the book. The end came together nicely. I am looking forward to continuing this series.
As usual cheryl has left us in suspension till the end. Never expected the person who had done the murder. Well worth reddit h. I love reading Cheryl Bradshsw books and can't wait for the next one. Thank you Rosalynd Bar-Joseph
I loved the characters in this story! The book is well written and it kept me reading almost from start to finish, (I did have to take a few hours to actually get some sleep).
5 stars for Little Shattered Dreams (Georgiana Germaine Book 6). A mysterious murder occurs when Georgiana and her family take a break at a women's retreat. Of course she immediately gets involved.
Another excellent book by Cheryl Bradshaw. Georgiana Germaine, her family and friends are at a retreat for a week long rest. On the second night, things become very complicated and their long awaited vacation comes to a deadly close.
Another great who done it that kept me guessing right to the end. Even with the clues presenting themselves I still wouldn't have figured it out. Well worth reading. Look forward to the next in the series.
When someone totally shatters another's life, is it necessary to exact revenge? For some people that revenge is as necessary as breathing. Did they really think they could get away with murder?
Bradshaw has a way of weaving a suspense thriller that I can never figure out until the very end. This is a convoluted case like no other that I have read. A real “who done it” as they say. You won’t be disappointed I assure you.
