The gorgeous cover art for The Nephilim’s Fate by Eliza Hampstead is done by Rio B Nugroho and a cover can turn my head, making me feel that I have to have the book.

The War Of The Nephilim series takes place in London, in a magical world shared by witches, vampires, fae, demons, hellhounds, Nephilim, and humans. Each book highlights a couple, telling their story and The Nephilim’s Fate is Alissa and Nate’s story. Brace yourself for some spicy, sizzling forbidden romance.

We start out with some hot and heavy sex, but it’s only a dream. Or is it? Alissa finds out soon enough when she discovers her dream guy is a Nephilim and she is a witch. I love anything to do with gods and goddesses, angels and demons, vampires, and witches and wizards.

I quickly got lost in the story and read it in one sitting. My only regret, I don’t have the next two sitting by, waiting to be read. I probably would have went straight to them, because the characters are fascinating and the story had me caught up in the forbiddenness of it. How long can they last, before giving into their attraction…and what happens when they do?

Try telling Alissa they say it can’t be done and she sets off on a mission of her own to get the answers.

We usually have some kind of battle or war going on when we are in a magical fantasy and the paranormal world. They can’t seem to get along, but there are also other reasons that have been kept hidden.

I do like walking the darker side of things, and we will do so here.

If anyone else is looking for a forbidden love story, here you go! The love between a witch and a Nephilim can never be a thing without killing the other. But what if the old texts were wrong? Nate and Alissia have the odds stacked against them in the world of paranormal creatures and rules that go against their attraction to each other. Who knows, maybe they just need to tempt fate and see how far they can push their luck.

I enjoyed this book! The characters were quite enjoyable and Nate and Alissia were well written in my opinion. And I didn't feel like the character interactions were stilted. They flowed really nice which kept me engaged, never taking me out of the story. I thought the fight scenes were great. Not only do we get to see the prep beforehand, but we also get to experience the fight through Nate. The sounds, smells, feelings, all of it is on display submerging us into the world even more. (Warning here: it can get a little on the graphic side for some of the kills).

The romance was YUMMY! From the dream sexy scenes to the full on action happening, dang it was spicy! I'll just say, Nephilims know how to have a Great time! Don't worry, the book isn't just a sex trap. There is genuine story behind the smut and the characters are creating a sweet and wonderful relationship between each other.

One of the problems I had with book was towards the end we kind of went way way into the fantasy realm where as everything before hand kept these "creatures" in the current time and place. You know "living amongst the humans. We can never let them know we exist." type of a world. But then we can suddenly travel to a place I won't mention to prevent spoiling?? Ummm, I can take some liberty and make myself believe one version where there is a secrete underworld with powers, but to then toss in a whole entire different concept right at the end... Wasn't the biggest fan of that change.

Overall, I would suggest you give this one a try! Heads up, you are left on a cliff hanger and there are a number of questions that aren't answered in this first one, clearly left to be answered in the second one. That all being said, I think Alissia and Nate's relationship will be keeping you coming back for the next one!

I received an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for a voluntary honest review.

I’m trying to decide how I feel about this book!
While I really liked the plot, it was interesting and the story the spice was pretty off putting to me personally.

Kinda wish orgies and voyeurism were in the description, so I’m adding to it mine that way people know going in. It’s just not my style.
It made the romance odd to me, a whole species who will do anything, with anyone, at anytime and never care, never have feelings about sex but then fall in love due to having it? Doesn’t seem likely. But hey if that’s your thing, you might dig it .
There is also a pregnancy trope and it just don’t know how I felt about that either

I really loved the concept of this book but the storyline felt rushed and the writing felt underdeveloped. It lacked depth to the writing and felt very surface level. I wish there would have been more suspense to Nate and Alissia meeting. Overall the premise of the book was good but I needed more from this book and it unfortunately fell flat for me.

This is the author's debut novel and I think it's a solid start to what will hopefully become a successful writing career for Eliza. On instagram she said that she'd always wanted to write a book that she would read herself. And if I'm honest, it's similar to the world I'd have created too because I just love Angels, Demons and all of that good stuff. I definitely think this world has got great potential - we've been introduced to lots of great characters, different types of 'monsters' and the start of a story arc that can only grow from here.

However, at times, the writing style didn't 100% work for me and we often jumped from one thought to a situation/action which was quite jarring or a bit too obvious - for example, the main character would think something and then immediately in the next sentence something opposite would happen. In my opinion, the romance was too easy/sweet. I don't particularly like angst so it being angst free (between the couple) was a good thing. But I also didn't really believe they couldn't live without each other. I wanted to feel a bit more passion or desperation for them to be together.

That said, I did enjoy the read. And like the world she's created, this new author has great potential and I'm sure her writing will continue to mature and her stories will go from strength to strength.

💫“Why? Why is she so special that you are risking everything, even though you don’t know her?” Azariel raised an eyebrow. “Because I dreamed of her over the last seven years. Moreover, she did the same.” I heard a collective gasp and sighed. “She is the woman of my dreams, literally.”

If you love forbidden romance, you’re going to want to add this to your TBR! The Nephilim’s Fate is a forbidden love story between a witch and a nephilim. From the very first page, I was hooked. The book starts with the FMC, Alissia, having a very spicy dream about the MMC, Nate. What’s interesting about this is they’ve never seen or met each other, but after only dreaming about each other for seven years, they finally meet! I loved that concept and found the whole storyline interesting and unique. The world building and magic system was also intriguing. The spice between Alissia and Nate will have you melting 😮‍💨🥵 And that cliffhanger has me so excited to read the next book!

I was hooked from the very beginning. It enjoyed the different aspects of this story. Star crossed lovers, fated mates/soulmates, the fight between good and evil, this story has it all. I loved the characters. I loved the supernatural aspects of the story. It made for a great read especially when they ascended into heaven. It does end on a cliffhanger! I can’t wait to read book 2 to see what happens.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book from Hidden Gems.

This was a very solid debut novel and the characters are great, storyline is very good and I can only see the author’s skills evolving into a great career.

This has a lot of action happening and our two lovers seem Star crossed at the start, she’s unaware what she is, he’s a super natural being, there a lot going on in this book, it’s action packed, and this author did a great job handling this storyline as a rising new author.

Overall I enjoyed the book, I really liked the forbidden romance between Nate and Alissia. I love books that bring in supernatural creatures and it was done in a great way.

The writing was overall good however there were some jumps in the narrative that were jaunting at times. I also would’ve loved to see read some more angst and longing between Nate and Alissia. Toward the end of the book I kind of lost interest but I was invested and needed to see the ending.

Things I loved:
-the premise was very good.

-the first chapter really drew me in. This book had so much potential.

- I liked the idea of the Brotherhood and the way Nephilim were portrayed in this book.

- Nate, Charlotte, and Azariel were my favorite characters. Alissia was okay but needed some character development for sure.

Things I didn’t love:

- some things were worded oddly and would pull me out of the story. For example one of Nate’s POV was the line “The constant drizzle moisturized my face” maybe it’s just me but that was a little odd to me.

- very much an instant love story, so the chemistry fell flat.

- the author really liked to describe skin color. Like a lot. While I liked the diversity of the characters I don’t need it described ten times or every time a body part is mentioned.

The biggest thing for me was there was so much telling and not much showing. That will always keep a story from being amazing. There was a lot of skip through scenes I felt could have helped the story flow but then excessive description on things that didn’t matter.

There was more but overall this book was okay.

This was a fun read about a forbidden love story between a Witch and a Nephilim with a strong female main character set in a world full of magic and supernaturals. I liked the world setting of the book and the magic system was interesting. This did end on a cliffhanger and I enjoyed the book so I will definitely read the next book in the series to see how this story continues and and what choices are made. I liked both the main characters Nate and Alissia and the way the relationship between them unfolded as they found out more about how having a relationship will effect not only them selves but the world and hidden communities around them I also enjoyed that this story was told from both their POV’s to help get a fuller picture of what was going on

I received a free ebook edition from booksirens and this is my honest review

Review of The Nephilim's Fate by Eliza Hampstead
* * * * *
A fantastic introduction to a forbidden romance, a building war, and a mystery!

Alissia made the assumption she was like every other normal girl...one that had seven years of very vivid dreams with a intensely hot man.
A hot man that turns out to be real.
One night at a bar at the behest of her best friend, she ends up caught in the hands of vampires and saved by nephilim.
One of them the literal man if her dreams, Nate, who also tells her she is a witch.
A mystery is beginning to unfold with Alissia's mysterious past and heritage, as well as leading to a forbiddin romance between the witch and her angel.
Species shouldn't mix. When our lovers take the chance, this creates a new problem, a new beginning, and a possible way between the witches, nephilim, vampires and fae.

Urgently wish to read the second book. It was fantastic! I wouldn't mind dream sex myself...sounds less complicated and definitely orgasmic.
Couple bonding after a fight...hot!
Can't wait for more on Alissia's past.

Thank you Eliza Hampstead for supplying this read. Absolutely enjoyed it!

First off, it is a bit of a cliffhanger and I couldn't find a book two so I am guessing it has not been released yet (as of 12/29/22). OK now the book was well written I spotted a couple of type errors but nothing significant to the flow of the story, any avid reader would breeze right by without a care. The characters were very interesting and I enjoyed the various personalities, it made for great comic relief at times. Some emotional scenes, some explicit scenes and possible mild trigger scene. The action was great, I always love a little action in these types of stories. I am curious to see if and how this story might continue. I would recommend this book for any who is content with a book leaving you a curious.

The book has fantastic world building, and a plot with plenty of action, and just the right amount of hot scenes. I like the storyline Hampstead has built, the mix of romance and fantasy. It definitely pulls you in and keeps you engaged. The main characters are amazing with great chemistry. I literally gasped at the unexpected twist and will continue to read the series.

Overall I enjoyed this story; the action, the drama, and the general storyline were intriguing. I liked the girl who is dropped into the paranormal world and has to find out about herself and the why behind her forbidden instalove. I love Nate's character and the whole brotherhood of Nephilim. I found it intriguing and different, especially in a big city. The forbidden love, dreams, and connections were exciting, and I liked how the story progressed. I might have taken it differently than the author did and not added the fantasy aspects, but it was a good read. The challenges for this couple were enough to start with; we didn't need the additional issues. I love Alissia and Nate and their challenges as a hybrid and interspecies couple.

Alissia has vivid dreams about a man she has never met. He has a bad-boy vibe and a protective embrace. She doesn't fully trust her instinct with men or places or herself. Her best friend Charlie likes to find youtube, and she gets dragged along to the fun. Leave it to her to get in trouble in a London club and run to the man of her dreams.

Nate is a mystery; she can't wait to unwrap him, but he seems to know more than she does. The author used some rather large words in the descriptions. There is a weird reality where she dreams in her head and his. They seem to share the same subconscious ideas. The dreams are erotic, but what's the point of them?

Her introduction to the paranormal world she doesn't know about fully is fast. This book is super steamy as Nate and Alissa connect like a couple who have known each other for years. They sure are tempting themselves with forbidden love every time they interact.

The author is very creative in this book with the forbidden love and mating and the interspecies mating but also with things like auras and supernatural powers mixing. This story is instalove, and I have a few questions about what the consequences are for their love. When will the fated mates be brought up? And why is only the Nephilim safe house attacked?

I have noticed some minor spelling oopsy in the story, but it tells if they are different English or spelling mistakes. Oh, I wasn't expecting that, and I love that there is a consequence for their actions. However, is it a blessing or a curse?

This book gets more fantasy-based as we have left Earth altogether. This book becomes less about them and more about the existential life they have created and their decision. This book ends action-packed but left on a cliffhanger with the decision to be made and the effects it would have.

I was super into this story when it focused on Allisia and Nate and their relationship, forbidden romance, and the steamy scene; however, when it turned to future prophecy, inter-species wars, and fantasy, I didn't care about the story anymore. This book was well written if you like a story that takes an unexpected turn and focuses on that more than the original storyline. I honestly think the author could have just stuck with their relationship and not added in the supernatural pregnancy, and the story probably would have held more interest for me.

As I dove into the pages of "The Nephilim's Fate," I found myself swept away by a world where the boundaries between the supernatural and human realms blur, and forbidden love ignites a chain of events that could shatter the fragile peace of London's magical underworld.

The story follows Alissia, a young witch who has long dreamed of a mysterious man who visits her in her sleep. When Nate, a Nephilim, enters her life and rescues her from danger, Alissia discovers the truth about her own heritage and the impossible nature of their love. Determined to defy fate and find a way to be together, Alissia and Nate embark on a journey fraught with danger and intrigue.

Eliza Hempstead Love weaves a compelling narrative filled with twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat. The world-building is rich and immersive, drawing readers into a London where vampires, fae, and demons walk among humans, each faction vying for power and dominance.

One of the novel's greatest strengths lies in its characters. Alissia is a strong and resilient heroine, determined to carve out her own path despite the obstacles in her way. Nate, with his brooding intensity and inner turmoil, makes for a compelling love interest. Their chemistry is palpable, igniting the pages with passion and tension.

However, it's not just the romance that drives the story forward. "The Nephilim's Fate" is also a tale of political intrigue and power struggles, with sinister magical groups scheming in the shadows. The stakes are high, and as the conflict escalates, Alissia and Nate find themselves at the center of a war that could determine the fate of their world.

While the novel delivers on its promise of steamy scenes and pulse-pounding action, it's important to note the warnings for strong language, graphic violence, and potentially triggering content. Love's depiction of abduction, blood, death, rape, and torture is not for the faint of heart, but it adds depth and complexity to the story, underscoring the high stakes faced by the characters.

In conclusion, "The Nephilim's Fate" is a captivating blend of paranormal romance and urban fantasy that will appeal to fans of both genres. With its memorable characters, intricate world-building, and thrilling plot twists, it's a must-read for anyone looking for a dark and compelling tale of love and magic in the shadows.

Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book .

This is, according to some sites, the author's FIRST book. And OOOOEEEE, did she NAIL it!!

BUT! Cliffhanger, people, of the most EPIC proportions, and I did not see it coming, and I am NOT happy!!

She’s a witch, he’s a Nephilim – and a simple kiss could kill them both. That is the tag line for this book, and it is perfect!

Nate is Nephilim, and all he knows is that witches would kill him, if they got intimate. Alissia thinks she is human, but actually, she's one of those deadly witches. But she's also a scientist, and after research by them both, she comes to the conclusion: it's a load of hooohaa, and then gets down and dirty with Nate! But there are forces trying to keep them apart, and Alissia will have a difficult decision to make.

I really REALLY liked this, not quite loving it, but mostly cos of that cliffhanger! Both Alissia and Nate get a say, so that made me happy, cos I do like to hear from the important people in a story.

It's dark and deadly: there is violence here, and it is graphic, but I think it's needed, to get the point across. It's steamy and smexy: explicit scenes from that very first page! If you follow my reviews, you'll know I do prefer my books on the smexy side, but I don't think I've read another book, where it starts right on the first page! I loved that, while it is explicit, that first scene is actually a dream and neither Nate nor Alissia knew the face of the person they were dreaming about!

There is much misinformation passed down, from both the witches and the Nephilim. Getting to the bottom of it took some time, and I do think that I might have got a *bit* lost with it, somewhere, but it all came to make sense.

I loved that Nate wanted to question his superior when it came to the child they rescued, a Nephilim child. I do hope he gets his way on that one!

So, the cliffhanger came out of nowhere, mostly because I wasn't paying attention to the time left in the book and I am NOT happy about it!!

I have just ONE burning question: when can I get my hand on book 2??

4 very VERY good stars

*same worded review will appear elsewhere

This had so much potential. The concept seemed great, and I was really interested in where the story was going. But the writing just wasn’t that great. The sentences felt clunky, there was no real buildup to the main characters meeting and getting together, and the conflicts were resolved too quickly.

Alissia, a newly discovered witch, has been dreaming about a mysterious man for a while. Turns out, the man of her dreams (literally) is a Nephilim, a magical hybrid of angels and humans. According to ancient texts, witches and Nephilim can’t be intimate because they’re supposedly toxic to each other. But Alissia, a scientist, suspects that’s not true. In her lab, she tests their saliva for toxic properties and proves that she and Nate can be together. However, their forbidden love threatens to cause a war between the species. As tensions rise, unlikely allies must be forged to stand against the vampires, fae and demons vying for power. In the mist of it all, Alissia faces with a difficult choice, one that could determine the future of their world and their child.

Final Rating:
2.5 ⭐️ (rounded up)
4 🌶️ (very spicy, with frequent, explicit smut and detailed descriptions. The spice is a major part of the story)

Read if you like:
🪽forbidden love
🪽supernatural world (witches, angels, fae…)
🪽surprise pregnancy
🪽fated mates

Sadly, this read like a wattpad story. I usually don’t even notice bad writing (English isn’t my first language, and I read for fun) but this time, it was impossible to ignore. That said, the ending and the battle do help the story, making you want to keep reading to find out what happens next. The cliffhanger leaves several unanswered questions that clearly set up the plot for next books.

This book was provided as an ARC through NetGalley. Thank you to the publisher for the opportunity. All thoughts and opinions in my review are entirely my own.

For years, Alissia has been having erotic dreams of a man she has never met, yet she feels a deep connection to him. Nate rescues her from supernatural attackers and Alissia soon discovers that he is not just the man in her dreams, but a real person, revealing a world she never knew existed. She discovers she is a witch, and Nate is a Nephilim, the son of an angel and a human. Love between Alissia and Nate is forbidden, but they just can’t shake the feeling that they are destined to be together. Alissia and Nate must venture out into the supernatural world of vampires, fae, demons, and witches to find a future together.

The Nephilim’s Fate by Eliza Hampstead is a gripping erotic, fantasy romance novel that will have you glued to the pages as we explore the forbidden love between Alissia and Nate. The author seamlessly weaves Alissia and Nate’s struggle to find a way to be together while, in the world of magic, supernatural forces collide in a battle of power and destiny.

Hampstead’s vivid descriptions and detail create a rich tapestry of settings and characters that brings the story to life. Readers will find themselves rooting for Alissia and Nate to find a way to be together. The steamy scenes are tastefully written and will have your heart racing and imagination running wild. This book isn’t all romance, there are some action-packed scenes that will have the reader on the edge of their seat. This book is part of a series, so the author leaves the reader hanging but eager to read book two.

I highly recommend Nephilim's Fate to fans of steamy romance, fantasy, and supernatural thrillers. Hampstead's excellent storytelling and her masterful use of plot twists will keep readers engaged and leave them eagerly anticipating the next installment in this thrilling series.

For seven years Allissia has had sexy dreams about one man. The last thing she expected was to finally come face to face with him while at a new bar her best friend convinced her to go to because the man, she has been crushing on is going to be there. Allissia is quick to realize that the people in the bar don't seem quite right, but she can't tell what it is that has her uneasy. It isn't until she is attacked that she realizes that they are very strong, and she turns to another group to help her that she comes face to face with the man in her dreams. Unfortunately, she will be shocked to discover that while they have dreamt of each other they will never be able to be together because she is a witch, and he is a Nephilim. For hundreds of years, it has been forbidden for witches and Nephilim to be together as they are poison to each other. Allissia is determined to prove the old texts wrong but neither she nor Nate could predict the consequences of their love. Entire supernatural communities might go to war because of their insatiable desire for power and their individual leaders desire to be the strongest race.
I loved this author's characters. They are all well written, unique, and utterly fascinating. For hundreds of years, members of the supernatural community have been told that if they interact with each other, it is deadly and then Allissia and Nate fall in love, consummate their relationship, and they are both alive and well. Exciting action, bloody battles, witches, warlocks, vampires, fae, angels, demons, and magic. This is a must-read paranormal fantasy romance with lots of steam that I recommend to other fans of this genre. Needless to say, I loved this book and am already looking forward the next book in this series.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Alissia Parker is a biologist with an ordinary life, and a family that loves her very much. What disturbs her equilibrium is the constant dreaming of a stranger and having a certain intimacy for all the rest. When, on a night out with friends, she collides with the most magnetic and extraordinary man on earth: the one who infests her dreams!
The situation between the two is a fine line, as they do not know each other's nature. And, if it is as Nathaniel suspects, there is no future between them.
Having done their due diligence, this will not stop them from pursuing their hearts and going against the rules of their peers!

Honestly, the romantic-spicy part I found a little too rushed. I understand that after experiencing the forbidden through dreams, one can't wait to do it in reality as well. But if it had gone step by step, it would have been more stimulating.
As for her true nature and where she came from: well described, with just the right suspense and the scattered question marks give you the right desire to know more🔥

Now comes the part I didn't like so much: the part that leads to uniting the two supernatural natures into one - if I explain myself.
Being the first volume of four, I imagined that this eventuality would happen later on. In this way, one loses a bit of that thrill of anticipation that leads the reader to look for new dynamics in the story. For now, I can tell you that I was intrigued by the conclusion and look forward to reading what our troublemakers are up to🤩

I read THE NEPHILIM'S FATE by Eliza Hampstead for a book tour hosted by the author and R&R Book Tours. Thank you to both for inviting me along and for the gifted e-arc.

We first meet Alissia while she’s having another dream about a man she’s never met. And yet, he feels real to her. When Nate rescues her from the supernaturals that attacked her, there is an immediate connection. She finds out that he is a Nephilim and she herself is a witch, and a relationship is forbidden by ancient laws. Alissia is tenacious, though, and sets her mind to finding out about these ancient laws. The more she is with Nate, the stronger her feelings become. So, she needs to figure this thing out.

There are lots of fantasy creatures, all who seem to be vying for control of all the others. Things happen, people find out, and a war looks imminent. The fight scenes are well done. The overall story is good. The spicy scenes are good as well. The only thing I wished for, and this is just my preference, is more details in the worldbuilding. Yes, I am one of those people.

Once the action begins, it doesn’t slow down until the end. I fell in love with Alissia and Nate and really want a happily ever after for them. I hope we learn more of Alissia’s background in future books. I will be reading the rest of the series.

I thoroughly enjoyed THE NEPHILIM’S FATE and recommend it to fans of dark fantasy romance, dark fantasy, fantasy creatures, magic, witches, nephilim, vampires, and spicy fantasy romance.

Y'all, The Nephilim's Fate was a wild ride from start to finish! Imagine discovering you’re a witch and that your rescuer is a Nephilim—a half-angel, half-human warrior who’s got a mysterious past. That’s exactly where Alissia finds herself after a vampire attack. Alissia and Nate’s story hooked me hard; there’s this intense forbidden love vibe between them that’s totally swoon-worthy and yet darkly complicated.

What’s unique about this book is how it blends the whole angels-vs-demons setup with genuine, relatable character moments. Alissia isn’t just thrown into this world; she’s got real doubts, strengths, and growth. Nate? Chef’s kiss. He’s stoic, powerful, but there’s this softness underneath that peeks through every time he’s around Alissia. Their chemistry? Fire! You can feel it in every glance and every moment they have to pull away from each other because of all the crazy ancient rules keeping them apart. It’s the ultimate "can’t-have-you" tension, and it’s sooo good.

The side characters add a lot too, making the world feel rich and lived-in. Every twist was unexpected, and just when I thought I had it all figured out, Hampstead threw in more surprises. The ending was satisfying, but it leaves enough open for the next book, and you know there’s going to be even more drama and tension in the sequel.

Would I recommend it? Absolutely, especially if you’re into forbidden romance with a dash of supernatural danger. If you love stories with a dark edge and a mix of action and romance, this one’s for you. Can't wait to see what happens next!

I like Nephilim's Fate! It's a good, simple read with a clear story and strong characters.
The Author, Eliza Hampstead, did a good job with descriptions, world building and making sure the reader could see what was happening in their mind's eye. The main characters were well written, and I liked Alissia's "voice" (or inner monologue, whatever you want to call it.)

There were some language things that were strange to me - but I think it's because the author is English and I am American - and we obviously have different slang and sayings which is totally fine. I was confused at the beginning because the thoughts and dreams of the main POV aren't italicized. I also noticed some small continuity errors (a couple of tense changes) but nothing that distracts from the story.

All in all - It's a good story that's easy to follow and to read, and if you are looking for a naughty, fun read with some good action this one is a good choice.

Exciting beginning for this intensely passionate paranormal romance series.

The Nephilim’s Fate is the first book in author Eliza Hampstead’s War of the Nephilim paranormal romance series, and the action and passion are front and center, and oh so well done from the very start. A witch and a Nephilim have a fated connection but are barred from consummating their passion because intimacy between the two supernatural species is believed to be deadly fatal for both.

But who better to discover the validity behind the ancient beliefs than the main female character, Alissia Parker, who is a practicing research scientist with an entire lab at her off-hours disposal and a witch. Alissia was oblivious to her true nature; she was abandoned as an infant, adopted, and raised by mortals. It is Nate, a Nephilim, who clues her in on the presence of auras and their properties of identification, which reveals her to be a witch and delivers her to the helping hands of the local coven. Although having to keep his desire for Alissia in check constantly, Nate is literally sex on legs and the man of Alissia’s dreams. The passionate scenes in their dreams are spicy-hot but turn to frustration when they are unable to fulfill their desires in person or face certain death.

The plot is robust, with a mysterious backstory for Alissia’s origins, the doubly forbidden romance (the danger and the prevailing attitudes of their people), and the resulting consequences of their love. The author’s choreography of ‘action’ scenes is extremely well done. These scenes are vividly described and without pretense. In addition, there are engaging, well-developed secondary characters, some of whom are featured in later books in the series. Thankfully, the subsequent novels are already available because this story has a cliffhanger ending that many will want to follow up on without delay. As a bonus, right now, those who sign up for the author’s email newsletter receive a short story featuring Nate’s Nephilim brother, Mike, and Alissia’s gal pal, Charlie.

I recommend THE NEPHILIM’S FATE to readers of spicy paranormal romance. Sensitive readers should note this book contains potentially difficult topics and scenes that may be outside their comfort zone, such as graphic violence, SA, rape, and very graphic language.

Incredibly beautiful girl goes to a bar and meets the man of her dreams. Literally.

DNF. Time of death: location 950 of 4120. It won't give me a page number.

This is the last of the four Netgalley ARC books, although considering this was released in 2022, I'm not sure why it's still there? Either way, this one was a real shame as the others had all been absolutely fantastic.

This book starts with fantastical descriptions of incredibly beautiful individuals, all of whom are incredibly flat and undynamic. The writing is very poor, with huge swathes of telling, rather than showing. It comes across as quite choppy, and at one point I even went back to the front to see if an editor had touched this. And they had! I couldn't believe it. Even within the first paragraph I'd started to rewrite whole paragraphs to make them sound like they'd been written by an adult. The overall idea appears to be pretty sound - forbidden romance, unknown powers and a broader mystery.

It is pretty apparent that this book is a crotch forward kinda novel. There's a lot of heavy spicy scenes, even early on. I think this would be fine if the characters had been given any depth and the author had convinced me that I actually cared about them.

She’s a witch, he’s a Nephilim – and a simple kiss could kill them both unless the old text is wrong.

This paranormal romance was fantastic with the action. It gives me Shadowhunter vibe with more spice.

Alissia is an interesting main character. She is a scientist with a master in biochemistry. I was surprised how well she took the information on being a witch. I loved that she didn’t freak out. It was also funny to read about her learning magic with her scientific mind. Nate is a Nephilim with a golden heart. He takes care of everyone, and I loved the found family vibe with his brotherhood. I loved his POV. How he reacts to Alissia been in his life for real.

Together, they are a beautiful couple. They are open to each other. After waiting for so long to be together, I understand that they can’t keep their hand for themselves. The steamy scenes are well done.

The only point I want to mention is that I expect more struggle for them to be together.

🚫Forbidden romance

💘Fate Mate
✌️Dual POV
