This is one of my favorite historical romances. It has memorable characters, especially in Tabitha Fell. In the romance genre I often want to slap the "hellions" that pass for heroines. The Quaker Tabitha Fell and her dilemma of falling in love outside her class and faith is a breath of fresh air. She's gentle yet not weak and it's up to the hero to either choose her or his destructive tendencies. I also appreciate the fact that the relationship comes together partway through the book and that they couple can then face their other obstacles together. Heart of the Falcon just has many different aspects that hit the right buttons for me as a very enjoyable romance read.
I read this book as a teen, taking it from my mom's romance collection. (She had many of them.) At the time I enjoyed the main characters' differences in culture. Not sure I would like the book as much as an adult- romance novels seem to all be based on about 5 different plot variances. They often feel tired and cliche to me.
