Another great volume from the one and only Rumiko Takahashi. Now that more info is being revealed on the Byouki, I’m super intrigued on what Haimaru knows that everyone else don’t. At first I had my doubts on Nanoka meeting the Byouki behind Mao’s back, but now that we know that things are truly not what they seem, I really need Nanoka and the Byouki sessions twice a week because the cat demon is the one spilling the juicy tea. Everyone else is basically running with questionable facts.
Again, I need home girl Nanoka to communicate with Mao. Like I said in my past review, she needs to SPEAK UP! Because sitting on the information is not helpful. We need to know Mao’s thought on the Byouki being all chill and cute in the modern world when a few volumes ago he was being ominous and demonic. This girl needs to stop thinking on the well being of Mao and his feelings and just tell him what she’s been talking about with the Byouki. I need her to cut the ‘maybe-the-time-ain’t-right’ bullshit.
All the talk about elements and how they cancel each other is super interesting to me. I caught myself, again, just looking at the page and analyzing everything; going back and forth between the volume and the internet doing research. I love when a piece of media pushes you to do research because it means it piqued your desire to learn and here I am 10 articles deep into these fascinating subjects.
I’m giving this one 4.5/5 stars, only because Nanoka’s lack of communication with Mao is starting to give me a rash. But other than that it was action packed, beautifully drawn and as always spellbinding.
