AH! This is everything I could have hoped for, and more. Finally! We have Evie and Louis' conclusion. The two of them are my favorite characters in this series, so I had super high expectations for this, and I wasn't disappointed in the slightest
We finally get a glimpse into the life Louis lived during his youth/while he was in France. It was heartbreaking. At the end of the last book we saw his past finally catching up with him, and that's where this story takes off from. Evie was drugged by one of Louis' enemies, and Louis is left with no choice but to take her away to France. Well, maybe he did have a few other choices, but he couldn't risk her father keeping her away from him forever after the whole ordeal.
The drama and complexity of this story outshines the others in this series, in my opinion. And at the end we get a perfectly tied up HEA for the two. The spicy parts were amazing, FINALLY the two are together. Ah, I can't say enough great things.
And I am SO excited for the Wicked Sons series we get in 2023 - it's going to follow the male children of the Girls Who Dare. I cannot wait!!!

Firstly - Wow, just WOW! Secondly - did I mention that this book is WOW?
A friends to lovers relationship that has been played out over the previous 12 books of the Daring Daughters series, and spanning four years of the 1830s/1840s, this is the long awaited culmination of Evie and Louis’s love story. With high expectations, many loose ends to tie up and a deservedly ever growing and exacting fan base to please, Ms Leech has delivered big time.
A wonderfully well written book that takes you through the highs and lows of Louis’s miserable childhood and difficult youth in the form of flashbacks, bringing you to a better understanding of why Louis is who he is, and why he adores Evie. At the same time you get to experience the growth of Evie’s character, with her strength, her passion, her beautiful soul and finally her belief in Louis’s love and faithfulness.
With a book that is once again almost wholly about the two main characters, and with a dash of circus entertainment, an exodus of several characters from London to Paris and the final unveiling of an enemy from Louis’s past - not to mention all the bedroom shenanigans 😉 - this is undoubtedly the best book of the series so far.
I am planning to read this again very soon, but at the moment I’m still recovering from its awesomeness 😘
NB: To fully appreciate this book you need to read the previous 12 books in the Daring Daughters series. As a minimum you should read Evie and Louis: The Story So Far, which is a compilation of all their interactions during the Daring Daughters series. Finally
Louis and Evie had a long, hard path to travel to obtain their HEA. This was a much darker book than usual, but no less compelling. It was fraught with the perils of an unstable childhood, and the ruthless people who take advantage of those who have no protection. It also shows resilience in the face of adversity and courage to those who believe and work towards a better adulthood rather than letting their past determine their future and worth.
I continue to love the stories that come from this series. I cannot wait for the next book.

Louis' strife and struggles are peppered throughout this uplifting tale of love but their pain and horror are stark and don't lose their powerful message in between the romance and comedic moments. A gorgeous story where good true hearts best the darkness of life in the end 💕

Finally, Louis and Evie’s story!
I believe this is the first time I’ve written a book review! After so many books where Louis and Evie were mentioned and their love matured, I finally understand who Louis is and how his life was formed. It was a very satisfying story…extremely satisfying! I couldn’t put it down! I can’t wait for the next book, hopefully, about Wolf!

Evie and Louis
I have been following their love story from their first meeting. They are my favorite couple and remind me of Matilda and Montagu my next favorite couple. This was a wonderful read and I couldn’t put it down. I love how you tied up all the stories into one awesome ending of true love.

A French Adventure
What an amazing story from Emma.. I knew this story would be beyond fantastic and I was blown away from beginning to end.
Evie and Louis both just have a chemistry that you can feel throughout the entire story.. Emma captured the perfect storyline for these two.. And how they had so many people rooting for their happiness and making sure they were safe. From the older generation to younger generation.
However Wolf has captured my attention now.. And I look forward to his story..

This is a long awaited story of two characters in the Daring Daughters series, Evie and Louis. Once again, Emma takes several emotionally charged subjects and handles them with compassion, grace and aplomb.
Louis’ upbringing is tragic and difficult, yet Evie is the one woman who sees past the facade Louis has constructed to the soul within and knows he is an inherently good man. Traveling this journey with them through circumstances fraught with danger is truly an experience.
I laughed, I cried, I melted. I would highly recommend this book to anyone willing to take a beautiful journey with characters with enough depth to fill the oceans.

Emma does it again. This is meant to be read as part of a series to get the full back story. I love that this author has such a large, interwoven world because you get so much more character depth. Evie and Louis have been fated since early in the series and I've loved their best friends to lovers journey. I couldn't figure out how they'd go from being forbidden to their HEA and Emma doesn't disappoint with her skilful weaving of Louis' backstory in such a way that you aren't questioning the ending as its totally believable. Excitement, adventure, romance, mystery, danger, door-open steamy scenes- it's a fantastic book. I'd urge you to read the whole series!

Magnificent!
I waited so very long for this story! But Emma Leech never disappoints her readers. Evie and Louis’s story has been such a slow burn and they nearly combust in the wild twists and turns of the exciting romp through Paris. The mysteries of Louis’s life before Evie come full circle to a beautiful read.
Now to see what is in store next for Wolf!

This book was wonderful!!!
Seeing how Evie and Louis story has been building up since the third daring daughters book, i had hig expectations for this book. And the author didn't dissapoint. It simply was an exceptionally entertaining and a heartwarming book.

Hard to Read but Hard to Put Down
I eagerly awaited this book and was not disappointed. Louis' prior life and experiences were hard to read at times. People can be so evil. Evie is always a bright spot in many people's lives and especially in Louis'! Great book, great ending. Now eagerly awaiting the next book!

Expectations exceeded!
Once again Emma Leech goes above and beyond and give her fans a story that exceeds our expectations! In order to grasp the power of Louis and Evie's (aka Lovie) story one needs to have read the whole series. When you do you will be beyond satisfied and yearning for more from the series!

And here I am after a sleepless night or une nuit blanche as would say Louis.

What an epic read …
Montagu’s romance with Mathilda was an enemies to lovers tale, here is is a friends to lovers story that has been built along the course of a dozen of romances.
I can only say how the author fooled me, like many readers I was sure she had Evie kidnapped to send Louis on a wild chase after her.
But it was not a chase but a run, a mad dash through Louis’ past and the building of his future with Evie.
I do not want to spoil anyone’s reading, so I will only say few.
The Louis we discover here is everything I would have dreamed him to be, and much more, a hero believing to be a villain, his angelic face instead of hiding the devil, conceal a gentle soul with of course some tarnishing as no one can get out unscathed after the experiences he went through. He is as flawed as any man, and while he used his appearance to bring him where he wanted to be, he is still inside this little boy who longed to be loved, to belong to someone’s heart.
Evie is not the mild meek plain jane most choose to believe her to be. Her beauty is less evident than Louis’ but she is an Angel in the soul. Yet, one with claws. Why Louis knowing her, her real self, knows he is in for a row if he decides to deprive her of her choices. His kitten can bite and scratch. For her, he would do anything, being so dependent of her in his life as air to breathe, she has the power to reduce him to nothing, a begging mess. Evie has been the first and only person who has looked at Louis without being entranced by his beauty, she sees him beyond the mask of perfection, she never was intimidated by his angelic face, she is the light to his darkness.
And we finally meet Wolf, next book’s hero.
This rat race will bring together all the characters I thought should be following them, plus one or two unexpected guests. And while it has dark moments as we revisit Louis’ history, it is also a butterflies fluttering sort of romance with brightness to lighten the atmosphere.

Then I took a nap and set an alarm to awaken when the book would be delivered on my e-shelves.
And here I am after a sleepless night or une nuit blanche as would say Louis.

What an epic read …
Montagu’s romance with Mathilda was an enemies to lovers tale, here is is a friends to lovers story that has been built along the course of a dozen of romances.
I can only say how the author fooled me, like many readers I was sure she had Evie kidnapped to send Louis on a wild chase after her.
But it was not a chase but a run, a mad dash through Louis’ past and the building of his future with Evie.
I do not want to spoil anyone’s reading, so I will only say few.
The Louis we discover here is everything I would have dreamed him to be, and much more, a hero believing to be a villain, his angelic face instead of hiding the devil, conceal a gentle soul with of course some tarnishing as no one can get out unscathed after the experiences he went through. He is as flawed as any man, and while he used his appearance to bring him where he wanted to be, he is still inside this little boy who longed to be loved, to belong to someone’s heart.
Evie is not the mild meek plain jane most choose to believe her to be. Her beauty is less evident than Louis’ but she is an Angel in the soul. Yet, one with claws. Why Louis knowing her, her real self, knows he is in for a row if he decides to deprive her of her choices. His kitten can bite and scratch. For her, he would do anything, being so dependent of her in his life as air to breathe, she has the power to reduce him to nothing, a begging mess. Evie has been the first and only person who has looked at Louis without being entranced by his beauty, she sees him beyond the mask of perfection, she never was intimidated by his angelic face, she is the light to his darkness.
And we finally meet Wolf, next book’s hero.
This rat race will bring together all the characters I thought should be following them, plus one or two unexpected guests. And while it has dark moments as we revisit Louis’ history, it is also a butterflies fluttering sort of romance with brightness to lighten the atmosphere.

March 9, 2023I have yet to not love an Emma V Leech book, but every time she outdoes herself and this one is no exception. So good! My advice: Read the series in order and prepare to fall in love with it!

Well Done!
I’ve been eagerly awaiting Louis’ and Evie’s story. Louis had a very difficult upbringing and dark past which was hinted at in past books. The unfolding of the difficult story was handled extremely well. Evie displayed all the love and courage you would expect. There were quite a few editing errors which I don’t recall from the past books. And, I would have liked less sex scenes. However, all in all excellent. Looking forward to Wolf’s story

Excellent, much anticipated read. Having read all of this series, Daring Daughters, I was so impatient waiting for the tale of Evie & Louis Cesar. I can vehemently say I was not disappointed, but absolutely thrilled with this book.
Throughout we are treated to snippets of letters to and from other characters that we truly hope have their own stories (if they haven't already) added to Emma V. Leech's list of "Tales to be Written".
A definite recommend !!

Emma V Leech earns 5 STARS for the well written exciting storyline in her Series: Daring Daughters plus she provides a pretty good BLURB. The characters are really great & fleshed out well & some are familiar from her past Books in this series & other connecting series.
This book is fast paced yet sends the reader back & forth between the current & the past of Louis's life as a child. His life was enough to make me very sad, tears form in my eyes, & get extremely angry for his sake all together in some instances. So be aware child brutally plus child sexual abuse both are touched on in this book as well as one's sexual orientation as a abused child.
This heartfelt & tender love story that exists between Louis & Eve is complicated but worth a readers time investment. Enjoy traveling their love journey from London, England across the water on a ship to France. Then all their time in France & Paris.

Finally a family
I have been waiting for this book since Louis was first introduced. I absolutely loved Evie and Louis’s story. He was a broken and abused child who turned to thievery to survive with a brother who found him when he was 11.
With so much baggage how could a innocent,beautiful, voluptuous person like Evie ever love him. But when her life is threatened he takes her choice away from her.
A beautifully written story story with a beautiful ending.
