In a thrilling new story of female empowerment, adventure, and vigilante justice from the legendary # 1 New York Times bestselling author, The Sisterhood reunites to avenge an attack against one of their own…

The Sisterhood: a group of women from all walks of life bound by friendship and years of adventure. Armed with vast resources, top-notch expertise, and a loyal network of allies around the globe, the Sisterhood will not rest until every wrong is made right.

The women of the Sisterhood have developed a motto: “Whatever it takes.” Regardless of how dangerous an adversary may be, or how overwhelming the odds against them seem, the group’s devotion to each other and to their cause has helped them achieve the seemingly impossible.

But there’s a price to pay for success. In the course of both their official careers and their top-secret missions, the Sisterhood—and their menfolk—have acquired enemies. Myra has been feeling uneasy of late, and her fears are justified when her adopted daughter, Nikki, is seriously injured. With Nikki in a coma, and Nikki’s partner, Jack, convinced that the organization’s online security has been breached, the women of the Sisterhood are more vulnerable than they’ve ever been.

On their trail is a vicious felon with scores to settle and a network of accomplices willing to do his bidding, for a price. He’s set his sights on vengeance, and the attack on Nikki is just the beginning. Though frantic with worry about her daughter, Myra and her beloved Charles know it’s time to summon the others and figure out how to take the fight to the enemy’s door. Because no one targets one of their own and gets away with it . . .

Fern Michaels isn’t a person. I’m not sure she’s an entity either since an entity is something with separate existence. Fern Michaels® is what I DO. Me, Mary Ruth Kuczkir. Growing up in Hastings, Pennsylvania, I was called Ruth. I became Mary when I entered the business world where first names were the order of the day. To this day, family and friends call me Dink, a name my father gave me when I was born because according to him I was ‘a dinky little thing’ weighing in at four and a half pounds. However, I answer to Fern since people are more comfortable with a name they can pronounce.

As they say, the past is prologue. I grew up, got a job, got married, had five kids. When my youngest went off to Kindergarten, my husband told me to get off my ass and get a job. Those were his exact words. I didn’t know how to do anything except be a wife and mother. I was also a voracious reader having cut my teeth on The Bobbsey Twins, Nancy Drew, The Hardy Boys, Cherry Ames and the like. The library was a magical place for me. It still is to this day. Rather than face the outside world with no skills, I decided to write a book. For some reason that didn’t intimidate me. As my husband said at the time, stupid is as stupid does. Guess what, I don’t have that husband any more. Guess what else! I wrote 99 books, most of them New York Times Best Sellers.

Moving right along here . . . Several years ago I left Ballantine Books, parted company with my agent, sold my house in New Jersey that I had lived in all my married life and in 1993 moved to South Carolina. I figured if I was going to go through trauma let it be all at one time. It was a breeze. The kids were all on their own at that point. The dump was a 300 year old plantation house that is listed in the National Registry that I remodeled. Today it is beyond belief as are the gardens and the equally old Angel Oaks that drip Spanish moss. Unfortunately, I could not get my ghost to relocate. This ghost has been documented by previous owners. Mary Margaret as we call her, is “a friendly”. She is also mischievous. It took me two weeks to figure out that she didn’t like my coffee cups. They would slide off the table or counter or else they’d break in the dishwasher. I bought red checkered ones. All are intact as of this writing. She moves pillows from one room to the other and she stops all the clocks in the house at 9:10 in the a.m. at least once a week. When the Azaleas are in bloom, and only then, I find blooms on my night stand. I have this glorious front porch and during the warm months I see my swing moving early in the morning when the air is still and again late in the day. She doesn’t spook the dogs. I always know when she’s around because the five of them line up and look like they’re at a tennis match. As of this writing we’re co-habiting nicely.

Most writers love what they do and I’m no exception. I love it when I get a germ of an idea and get it down on paper. I love breathing life into my characters. I love writing about women who persevere and prevail because that’s what I had to do to get to this point in time. It’s another way of saying it doesn’t matter where you’ve been, what matters is where you’re going and how you get there. The day I finally prevailed was the day I was inducted into the New Jersey Literary Hall of Fame. For me it was an awesome day and there are no words to describe it.
I’ve been telling stories and scribbling for 37 years. I hope I can continue for another 37 years. It wasn’t easy during some of those years. As I said, I had to persevere. My old Polish grandmother said something to me when I was little that I never forgot. She said when God is good to you, you have to give back. For a while I didn’t know how to do that. When I finally figured it out I set up The Fern Michaels® Foundation.

Well, I thought I could read Tick Tock as a standalone novel. Unfortunately, it was not the case.

I had a rough start from the beginning as the characters were introduced. There were quite a number of them and all appeared to be carryovers from the previous novels. So, I was compromised at the get go.

I'm not sure that I would want to read the prior novels. But perhaps if I did, I would have gotten the gist of the who, what, when, and why of the Sisterhood. However, the writing style seemed a bit juvenile and didn't quite appeal to me. It reminded me of the Spykids movies.

The storyline was a little confusing with the back and forth between villains and victim. And I didn't understand the motives of the villains.

In any event, Tick Tock just didn't hit the right buttons for me and sadly it was a DNF at 33%

I received a digital ARC from Kensington Books through NetGalley. The review herein is completely my own and contains my honest thoughts and opinions.

This is a Mystery Suspense, and this is the 34th book in the Sisterhood series. I have read and reviewed some of the other books in this series. I think this is a series that needs to be read in order. I do not think the characters are very developed in this book, and I felt the storyline was fun but it needed more. I just wanted more from this book. I felt the mystery/suspense in this book fell short. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Zebra Books) or author (Fern Michaels) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

Reading Tick Tock by Fern Michaels, I am taken back to revenge tales of men who were put in prison for something they did not do, hell-bent on seeing justice for the life that was taken, a twisting tale with a modern shade akin to The Count of Monte Cristo. However, a big difference with this story: the criminal is perverted (in many ways, mentally, one), guilty, knows it and yet he doesn't care, still wants revenge on those who put him behind bars. And as the future Count did, this prisoner betters himself, begins a plan to find those he thinks wronged him and exact his revenge. The worst, the child pornographer finds himself no worse a criminal than others, lacks the moral aptitude to see what he has done wrong, what is wrong with him. The worst sort of criminal.

As just this makes for an amazing story that keeps you on the edge of your seat, as always with Michael’s books, there is more to come. Banding with criminals he meets behind bars, they all form a plan, all take a part, to employ a perverted justice they think themselves due. However, as with all criminals, there are secrets. And, here too, these men all keep hidden parts of the plan from one another. These are men who have no problem with being able to rationalize their crimes and what they have done and will do, in the future. In Tick Tock, Michael’s brings readers a set of villains set on perverting society, preparing to enact further crimes, destroying any life that they feel warranted to do so.

To combat these villains, Michaels brings together a cast of unforgettable characters. Strong women, all victims of traumatic crimes where justice (for them, for any victim) has been diverted by some technicality, some unfairness. Righting wrongs in the world, together they take matters into their own hands forming a Sisterhood. Each bringing a unique skill to the group and working under the directive of serving justice, they are judge, jury, and enforcer, the only thing they will not do is commit murder. Unfortunately (for the criminal), when the sisters are done, the criminal usually wishes for this, as the Sisterhood always has punishments worse planned.

In all of Fern Michaels Sisterhood books, I must admit the women are creative not only in their punishments but their investigatory skills, knowledge and abilities, having husband's you can't help but cherish as a reader, who participate and aid the women. Michaels is a writer who I cannot lay claim that her stories are beat by ones in reality, as I often judge non-fiction or true crime worse than what writers can create. The Sisterhood books, Tick Tock, in particular, defies that statement. Michaels is so inventive, yet stays within realistic boundaries with her storyline(s), that in her writing I have finally found more twisted tales than real world ones.

When the avenging sisters are up against several criminals, all with their own crimes, intentions on revenge, having to puzzle together pieces that seem to come from different sources, but are related, will multiple criminals, all with a part of a master plan, finally bring down the strong women? When one of the Sisterhood is attacked and is facing her end, will the multiple criminals be able to bring a complete end to all the women of the group? Will a sister be lost?

The madness of the storyline, the switch, back and forth between criminals and the Sisterhood (characters), only makes the book all that better to read. Still, with all Michaels gives her readers, she is impossible to predict. Rarely do I read an author who can surprise me and hide (from readers, or, at least me) what comes next. However, Michaels is a master of this, masking a story for me, so as a reader doesn't know, leaving mystery that is only divulged as the pages turn and the reader goes forth in the book. I dare you to read her book and honestly say it was all predictable!

If you haven't read Fern Michaels, her Sisterhood's books, here is a terrific one to start off with (if only for the fact that this writer is anything but predictable and I've long for such a book of late). I promise you, once you read one of her books in this on-going series, you will be a fan forever (as I now am) and won't be able to wait (as I can't) for the next defeat that comes from Michaels pen and the characters she creates, the Sisterhood. I must warn you though, this may be the very best book of the series (just in case you chose to start here) as the Sisterhood is up against a cast of deviants of the worst sort.

The Sisterhood books are readable out of turn, with no former knowledge of the series. This is personally, one of my favorites reads ever, as a whole (the series) and alone (Tick Tock). Even if you are just looking for a book to read about a group of tight, female, friends, sisters made, look here, if only to feel a warming, part-of, a Sisterhood. However, with Michaels, she can't help providing you, in these books, Tick Tock, in particular, her best one yet of the series, with more.

A crime solving, punishment inducing group of what some might call vigilantes? Yes, please! This unique group of characters came together in ways you’d never expect. With all of the differing personalities I almost expected it to be chaotic but it flowed really well and I enjoyed the ending a lot.

🌀Synopsis
Nikki is injured in an explosion. While she lays in a coma, the sisterhood goes to work to find out who did it and why.
A breach in their security system has everyone on edge but as pieces start to fall together they hop on a trail behind four different criminals.
It only takes a few minutes with one of them to get the story on what happened and why. With punishments delivered and Nikki on the mend, the group is ready for their next adventure.

3.5 Stars. This is the 34th in the Sisterhood series which started back in 2001. I came into it as a stand alone not having read any of the previous novels. There were a lot of names thrown quickly at me but enough background was given for me to understand the connections and purpose of the SIsterhood. Because of their past experiences they look for crimes where justice isn’t fairly served and try and correct it on their own terms.

In this situation one of the daughters of a main member is injured in an explosion. She wasn’t the intended victim but it puts the sisterhood on the hunt for the culprit and any accomplices. Even thought there are serious crimes discussed the tone of the book is light. These are friends and their partners who can laugh and joke as they use their seemingly unlimited resources to solve the case.

I can easily see fans following theirs characters through many adventures just like I enjoy James Patterson’s Women’s Murder Club. Fern Michael’s continues to tell good stories, although I do find dated words and phrases here and there in her writing. If I had read previous book in the series I would probably have rated it higher and liked it more. Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for the ARC in exchange for a review.

****

I also I enjoyed the audio book narrated by Laural Merlington. She was able to provide voices for the characters so I could easily identify who was speaking. Also she helped me realize the characters are older than I was originally thinking.

Thank you to NetGalley and RB Media, Recorded Books for an audio book in exchange for an honest review.

Tick Tock is book thirty-four in the Sisterhood series by bestselling author, Fern Michaels.

The Sisterhood is back with their latest mission, and it’s personal this time, even more personal than usual.

Fern Michaels reunites the ladies of the Sisterhood in another standalone installment to this well-established series. She expertly maintains the continuity of the series while giving unfamiliar readers enough details to make it an easy standalone read. The premise and plot are interesting and keep the reader entertained throughout. The story starts off a little slowly but quickly picks up the pace. The characters are well-developed with complete backstories. I enjoyed Tick Tock, rate it 4 out of 5 stars, and recommend it to all readers of action-adventure and thrillers.

My thanks to Kensington Books, Zebra, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book. However, the opinions expressed in this review are 100% mine and mine alone.

ARC audiobook provided in exchange for an honest review.

I have never read the other books in this series, fair warning, but still enjoyed the plot regardless. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the narrators voice, it felt like an older woman to me, which worked for the more mature characters, but not so much for the younger ones in my opinion. I would still recommend and check out of books by this author as I enjoyed the plot and character interaction.

Murder, justice, friendship and gourmet food-who could resist this combo? Myra and Charles’ daughter Nikki is left in a coma and her parents gather their sleuth friends to bring the unknown assailants to justice.
This sisterhood mystery was expertly narrated by Laural Merlington, she used a variety of accents and she matched the voices perfectly to the characters.
There were many characters introduced in the beginning and it felt a bit confusing then suddenly the novel comes together and picks up a great speed with a clever and adventurous spirit.
This is the perfect mystery to take on a trip, gift to a friend or read at home by the fire.
Thanks to Netgalley and R B Media publishers for sending me this audiobook for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

This is my first foray into Fern Michaels Sisterhood series and it's book 34.

"The Sisterhood: a group of women from all walks of life bound by friendship and years of adventure."

A rapidly moving story and an engrossing read, though I struggled a bit with no prior awareness of any of the characters. This story starts off with Myra fretting and feeling that something is amiss, and Nikki is hurt on holiday. Some justice is delivered in this action and adventure tale.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel at my request from Kensington Books, Zebra via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.

The Sisterhood is at work again. Myra has been feeling uneasy lately and worried something is going to happen. Nikki and Jack are going out of town for a 4-day vacation. When Nikki is injured due to a car explosion Jack is beside himself. Jack thinks they were after him not Nikki. Nikki has a head injury and is getting the best care possible. Charles thinks their computer system has been breached. The ladies are working together to get the whole mess sorted out.
This is another great book on figuring out who is doing what and taking care of business.

This is book 34 in Fern Michaels’ Sisterhood series. This was my first time reading a book by this author, and I think I would have liked it more if I hadn’t started on book 34. You can definitely jump right in, but I felt like I didn’t know the characters as well as I would have liked which is probably due to me starting later in the series. This book starts out a bit slow, but then it picked up a bit. Overall, this book was well written and had an interesting storyline 😊

New author for me to try; she has written many novels. She lives in So. Carolina with four dogs and a ghost. Sounds like a fun friend of mine, so was hoping for a fun read.

Confess to nearly a DNF, but rated it 3 for average. Stalled out with Nikki’s coma, meeting the large cast of well-to-do characters thinking up ways to help the patient and her family while also concerned with their high tech super cyber security and what to do about the hacking. This will lead to discovery of ...
Four ex-cons that comprise a group fantasizing about getting rich and safe from the law forever. They are getting out of prison. ERIC has big, carefully organized plans. ERIC uses LEROY as his patsy to go the Cayman Islands to help him recover $5 million he swindled from his investors. He’s promised to pay his cohorts $50,000 each to play a part in his plan. DARIUS is a psychopath determined to kill all the people who put him in prison. He bullied himself into the group in prison; no one dares ask him what his goal is for his share of the money. And he isn't saying.

NIKKI is the first victim of Darius’s car bomb intended for her partner Jack. MYRA, her mother, is having a panic attack. Myra founded The Sisterhood after her own terrible experience of losing her daughter and unborn grandchild - before adopting Nikki?

The Women of the SISTERHOOD motto is “Whatever it takes.” Avengers seeking justice when the legal system fails. Some of their men joined the mission with a Brotherhood. Myra and her husband, CHARLES, have several convenient friends who can help them achieve their goals.

After completing the book with some skimming, I feel a movie would have to be a comedy plot to make it entertaining with all the avenger characters and the ex-cons actions and individualized punishments.

I was delighted to have won a copy of this book. I stared reading this series with the first book Weekend Warriors. I was captivated by the characters and couldn’t wait to read the next book in the series. I’ve read every book in the seris and At this point I couldn’t wait till “Tick Tock” was released.

This book is book #34 in the series and I found it very entertaining. I was also surprised to see a few characters from two other books that were not part of the sisterhood series. I had read “Hidden” and also “Secrets”..two books known as “The lost and found Series”. Leroy was a minor character in that series. I also read “No way out” and I was delighted that Libby Gannon AKA Ellie Bowman is a key character in Tick Tock. So, now I’m waiting anxiously for the next book in the series.

In the meantime..I’m reading Fern Michaels “Godmother Series”. Currently reading book 2..Exclusive. I’d rather be reading these books tan Watch TV! Thank you Fern Michaels for such wonderful stories!

Never mess with the Sisterhood. Target one of them and the whole pack will be on your trail. You can count on punishment being swift and severe. The women of the Sisterhood know how to get the job done and the money to make it happen. Jack was the target, but Nikki was the victim. Nikki, as in Myra and Charles' daughter. They have already lost one daughter to violence. They are not about to lose another. With their special skills and unlimited resources, the Women of the Sisterhood are determined to find Nikki's attacker and make them pay. With the help of Libby, a computer genius, they follow the trail on the dark web. No one can outsmart or hide from The Sisters.

Tick Tock is the 34th installment in the Sisterhood series, and the first one that I have read. The Sisterhood is a group of women and their spouses who came together following traumatic crimes where justice wasn’t served (often due to a technicality). This book definitely gave me Columbiana, Good Girls, and V for Vendetta vibes (on a tamer scale). And goodness, this was such a fun read. Give me all the female empowerment and vigilante justice. While it was more of a slow build and slow to medium paced, when we got into the action, I could not put it down. There were also lots of comedic elements that I loved and could definitely see this one as a movie. I look forward to reading more of the books in this series after this one.

DNF. Read about 40% of this book and decided not to continue. There are so many wonderful books on my list, I just don't want to spend any more time on this one. I won this book in a Goodreads Giveaways. Thank you for giving me the book to read This was my first Fern Michaels book and I will give author another chance if opportunity presents itself. I found the the book to be dull and characters flat, like reading a Dick and Jane book with adult characters. Perhaps this was because I was not invested in the characters or their story since this is #34 in Sisterhood series and I joined in late in the game.

This is my first book in the sisterhood series. Jump into a story of revenge on one of the sisterhood. They have the resources to give their own unique punishment and vigilante justice. I found this an easy story to read and the various characters really stood out. The mystery is an easy cozy feel but with the sting in the tail of how the sisterhood will enact their revenge. A story that can be read as a stand alone.

No continuity.

If Fern Michaels wrote this book, she has forgotten a lot of what has taken place in her previous books in the series.
There are so many inconsistencies and missing characters, that even for someone that’s read every book in the series it’s difficult to follow.
But if you like, hokey, and easily predictable endings, you may enjoy it.
Hopefully her next book will be more compelling, and character based.

As always a sisterhood book is amazing!

When Jack and Nikki go on a romantic weekend it ends the way no one expects. This sets Myra off and a mission begins.

This was a wonderful and scary book for the fans of the Sisterhood. But as always Michaels is true to form. The ladies will right some wrong and deliver some serious justice.

I just picked up this book to fill up time. I certainly am not qualified to rate the writing. My problem is with the group of women, the Sisterhood, who are casually portrayed as being Christian (they pray and mention depending on God) but then they judge and execute vengeance on those who have injured them.

This book is the newest in the Sisterhood series. Nikki is hurt by a bomb and the group gather to find the person who did the bombing. At the same time the cyber system of the group has been comprised so that must also be fixed. Cooper returns to guard Nikki. The book was a quick easy read.
