She’s something I didn’t want, but everything I crave.
Lu: This planet is the pits. I’m being handed off to different aliens one after another like I’m a dog-eared novel. My latest captors are about to take me off planet when a big blue alien botches the rescue mission. Now we’re both prisoners of a fierce lizard species who will let us free on one condition, and I think our life span is looking bleak.
Axton: I know my way around swords, enemies, and blood, but this human is something else. She never stops talking, asks too many questions, and makes my blood hot. All we need to do is find the missing offspring of the lizard king. Between my muscles and her sporadic ability to tell the future, I figure we might just make it out alive.
While battling for our lives, I’m also fighting to keep my hands off the fiery human. But time is running out, and if I want a future with her, I have to complete the hardest hunt of my life.
I really liked this one. As usual with Ms. MAVEN, she keeps it intriguing and action packed.. but with the way Axton has been set up in the previous books, and with the type of "alter" that Lu has, I was hoping for a whole lot of intensity within this story for these two. But sadly that was barely a blip here. What you get is decent. But I'm afraid the development of Axton and Lu, individually as well as collectively, was lost in all the action that is written here and with the introduction to two new species. I was hoping the Epilogue would have appeased me somehow, but sadly it didn't 🥺
Still a great read. Kept me involved and anxious the entire time, but I was wanting more. Especially with these two characters. So that's why this one gets 4 and not 5 stars ⭐ but as always, you know I'll be back for the next chapters in the Drixonian Warriors saga.. How could I not?? 🥰
I would recommend this read/spin off, based off these first 4 books 📚 As usual please start with the very 1st series and work your way in order, with the spin offs.
The following ratings are out of 5: Romance: 💚💜💙🩷 Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘 Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥 World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏 Character development: 😒🤩😀🙂😍 Narrator(s): 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙 Narration type: Dual Narration
The heroine:Lu - she and other human women were abducted from earth and experimented on as lab rats. They each ended up with an “alter”, which was some kind of ability. Hers was the fact that she had visions that always came true. After they escaped from the Uldani, they formed a small settlement on the planet they were on, but one night they were all captured by warthog looking aliens and taken to different places, she ended up in a cage next to her friend Maisie. She foresaw a big blue flying alien coming and taking her away from Maisie. She did not want that to happen, but she knew it would. Maisie had been slowly slipping away.
The Hero:Axton - he is a Drixonian male and is in the outcast clavasse. The outcasts are sons of deserters and are looked upon as if they were the ones that deserted. His race used to live on Corin but left after a virus wiped out their female population and they left Corin by choice. Now, after the war ended, have returned to their home planet. They found it changed and other races had moved in and made it their home. The outcasts are now back with and accepted by the rest of the Drixonians.
The Story: Axton had been sent to find some of the human women who had been kidnapped by the Wutarch. He found Lu and rescued her, but he lost his translator updater so they she couldn’t understand him, and he hadn’t known there was another female until it was too late. Lu fights him at first but eventually becomes too tired and stops. Axton is a bit of a grumpy, growly alien who doesn’t want a mate, but he starts having feelings for Lu not long after he rescues her. They end up far from the lands where the Drixonians stay. Lu is a talker; she finds that her constant talking isn’t the greatest when the Priadans attack because they are a territorial species and Axton and Lu are on their land.
Lu's ability to foresee events adds a compelling tension, especially since she knows she’ll be separated from Maisie but can’t stop it. Axton’s position in the outcast clavasse adds another layer of societal complexity, making his reluctant feelings for Lu even more interesting. The way their communication barrier plays into their initial struggle is such a great trope—it forces them to rely on actions over words.
This audiobook was told in multiple perspectives, done in dual narration and was narrated by Reagan West and Gabriel Mcknight. Reagan West has a terrific voice which I like very much. She is great at showing emotions through her voice. Gabriel Mcknight has a soft, voice and is great at doing different voices for different characters. I wasn’t too fond of the voice he used in the last book for the main character. In this one I liked his voice, and the narration in general.
This is Lu and Axtons story in the spin-off series from the Drixonion warriors, Outcasts of Corin. I honestly think I like this spinoff more than the original! I have been LOVING these outcast dudes!

Lu is a fiesty, talkative, self proclaimed annoying human with a secret. Axton is on a mission to save her and bring her back to her friends. Commence shit hitting the fan, nothing goes as planned. But fate definitely has one…
I had a hard time getting into this one. It wasn’t bad, but probably my least favorite so far. To be fair, the synopsis of this one didn’t grip me either, but I wanted to know what happens in the overall story. It felt a bit repetitive from the other books. But also- I’m not a huge fan of “kidnapped over and over by a bunch of different aliens” theme. I find it a bit draining.
The MC’s can’t talk to each other for the first 30% of the book, with one character pretending he can’t understand her. This is a common trope in alien romance, but with this book, I honestly didn’t understand why he did that, it seemed like it just made things harder for no reason.
It took me about 50% of the book to really get a feel for the MC’s. I didn’t feel particularly connected to either character for the first 50% and I think that may have been part of my problem too. Which makes me sad because I was SO excited for Axton’s book! His unique personality didn’t really come out on the page.
As soon as I was starting to vibe with the characters, Lu irked me a bit with her whole “if you think you’re unworthy because of your scars, than you must think I’m unworthy to. And until you can see yourself as worthy we can’t be together”. That was a bit toxic girl😬. I see what she was trying to do, but that’s not fair to him, he literally grew up an outcast. Core beliefs take time, love, and work to change. Withholding love to make someone be what you want is not ok.
I still love Ella Maven and this series! Not every book will be a winner for me and that’s ok! BUT if these tropes are your bread and butter, than ABSOLUTELY pick up this book! I AM SO EXCITED FOR MADDIK NEXT! I think that one is gonna be more my flavor.
Might be my fave of this spinoff series because of the inclusion of the lion peeps and the rescue angle that’s not about rescuing the FMC. Plus I’m very intrigued with the next book. Otherwise it’s pretty much the same as the earlier books. Very much a comfort read so no big surprises but it’s what I was looking for.
I LOVE Ella Maven's books! This one was no exception, I LOVED IT!! I laughed out loud SO many times while reading this one. I loved Lu so much, her character was fun and unapologetically herself. She was the perfect mate for our quiet and stoic bb Axton! Ella also introduced us to a new alien race that I am excited about! Fingers crossed this isn't the last we see of them! This one was full of laughter and feelings(Ella made me tear up at one point!) but also the fun spice she is known for as well! I LOVED getting to experience Axton learning 🔥 🥵 (YES he [and the rest of the guys in this series] are virgins!) Highly recommend this series, and all her books!
I really liked The Alien's Bounty. Lu and Axton we're great together and I liked the the plot. It was different from any of the previous books with the addition of the Priedans. I went from being not that fond of them, to having them tug my heartstrings.
I enjoyed the journey and the fight for survival all while seeing Lu and Axton grow infinitely closer. I look forward to the next book.
I loved it. Lu was one of the recaptured human females that the Drixionians have been searching for. Axton finds her and his self worth while falling hopelessly in love. It was full of action, romance and steamy scenes. I hope this series never ends.
Ever wondered what it would be like to copulate with one of the aliens creatures from the movie Avatar? Then these are the book for you!
This author is absolutely brilliant! They have balanced the perfect amount of action, adventure, desire and romance. I have read every single book in this series (Drixonian Warrior Series), including every book of the each offshoot, and cannot wait for the next one to come out. This book in this series is one of those offshoots. While staying true to the Drixonians we’ve come to love, this series (Outcasts of Corin) adds a bit more. Similar to the Stolen Warrior offshoot, only this time, it’s the human females that have the “enhancements” instead of the Drixonians. There are a numerous amount of editorial errors throughout each book, but not enough to take away from the experience. I have even read a couple books twice because, well, holy hotness!
The Alien’s Bounty follows Lu, the human female with an enhancement that shows her the future through her dreams, and her Drixonian warrior Axton, an outcasted son of naught who rescued her from her captors. They landed in the middle of Priedan’s territory, which are basically humanoid lions. The Priedans force the pair to rescue their teenage son who was captured by giant bird like predators. The two fall in love and become fated mates during the adventure.
I will add, however, with a bit of disappointment, that while each book has different characters with different outlooks, each outcome is exactly the same. Boy saves girl, boy has issues about his past that prevents him from “claiming” girl, girl has exact same issues, girl saves boy somehow, “Fatas” gives both boy and girl matching wrist tattoos that mark them as mates, boy and girl finally accept their feelings for each other and live happily ever after. That’s the bases for each and every book. Still, I will read it over and over again with a sense of fulfillment. I am also disappointed with the short length of the books, I wish they were slightly longer. They’re too quick to read! Then I’m stuck reading other crap while waiting for the next book to come out. Grrr.
Missing words again. Different words where it's meant to be something else. But I really am liking the different alien species we're being introduced to in each book. I also like that each book is a bit different than just fighting off the Wutarks. This book is Lu and Axton. I really liked Axton's character in the other books and I wasn't so much a big fan of Lu. I honestly really was hoping for Neve. I get that he needed a balance for his quietness but I also feel like because Neve is a quiet one, she'd do well with someone patient and quiet.
Spoilers below and it's for my benefit.
Lu is a seer. She can't control when she gets her visions. She and Maisie are caged together and Lu "sees" a blue alien separating her and Maisie.
The two women are then fated to be put onto a ship to be going back to Torin, which is where they had been tortured by the Uldoni. Since the book is insinuating the bad Uldoni have been eradicated, I'm wondering who Maisie is being sold to. Lu is rescued at the last min before the shuttle is out of the atmosphere by Axton.
They end up having to cross the mountains where these lion aliens live and they tell them they must go and retrieve their son from the Cors (a giant hawk/dragon thing) and they will let them live and go home. This ends up being a really difficult mission since the Cors are an actual intelligent alien grouping. They even wear seaweed clothes.
Once they defeat them, they are able to go to Sari (the new place that they all moved to in the last book with Kutzal and Trix), and they start discussing rescuing the other women. We're introduced to Maddic at the end of this book who curses a lot and he drives a ship that can be flown out of atmosphere. I think him and Maisie are going to have the next book. I'm not really sure where the author is going to take Maisie's character because she hasn't talked about an Alter for her or Neve. So this will be interesting. 1 month until release!
Bummer! I love the Outcasts of Corin, not only are they damaged virgins but they are... never had an erection before virgins. I enjoyed the other books where they were like.. what is happening to my cock!? I don't know what to do. This guy had some elements of that but... "I nuzzled into her neck as I ground my hand against her cunt. She gasped and spread her legs like I knew she would... I wanted to hear her scream before I took her the way I wanted to."
"Plunging my hand into her entrance, I slipped my other hand under her fur wrap and plucked at a beaded nipple. She moaned my name as I thumbed her clit and her hips rocked against me... I growled as I plunged into her again and again"
Doesn't sound like a guy who has never touched a female, does it?!
I also thought the story and even theory connection was rushed.
I mean, who is this review for really? If u read the other ... dozen books, u r going to read this too. If u never read any, u are not starting here.
Virgins review anyway... Virgin rating: Innocence of virgin hero: 5/5 Innocence in losing it: 3/5 Build up to losing it: 3/5 Hotness of losing it: 3/5 Busted touching himself: no POV of losing it: male
Every book in this series is absolutely phenomenal & this one is no exception. Ella Maven, you are brilliant.
I loved Axton from the beginning, his quiet demeanor, which, when needed, morphed into one of the baddest @ss Drixonian warriors to ever weld two massive swords. He is quiet, thoughtful & oh, so hot. Lu is his opposite in every way. She talks almost nonstop, has a fiery temper & spirit & survived years of experiments before escaping her captors with her best friends only to be kidnapped by more evil aliens before being rescued by Axton. Opposites truly do attract in this one.
This whole story is full of extreme danger & rescues. Amazing alien species & creatures. It is a crazy wonderful heck of a ride & I loved every second of it. The book had me laughing, crying, cheering & left me feeling so happy & complete.
These books are so detailed & the stories are each unique & absolutely phenomenal. A book that has everything is the perfect book for me. This book is all that & more.
No time left, I have to download the next book. Please give these books a chance, they are extraordinary & so special.
An okay pairing, but I felt a little cheated with the lack of grumpy/sunshine trope that I was expecting for Axton's book. With his admission of using sleep as just a way to pass the time I guess he's more of a depressed hero than a grumpy one? And of course one conversation and some sex cures him of that😂
Was also a little confused when we meet the Predians - the book description definitely mentions the "missing offspring of the lizard king", but the Predians are basically upright lions, and last I checked lions are a mammal! Maybe the Horazions (which I kept reading as "horizons") are the lizard-like aliens and the blurb writer got confused? Though they seemed more amphibian or fish-like to me.
Overall I'm struggling a little with this series after the first two, which I did like. I knew they would all have similar "rescue the heroine" plots, but they're so short that there's not a lot of time to delve into and differentiate each couple from the ones that came before.
Lu and Masie have been sold 3 times since they were taken from their camp away from their friends. Now stuck in cages and being sold again this time off world which will lead them back to horrors they don't want to face. As they board the ship a big blue alien from her dreams rescues her but leave Masie behind. Lu is pissed at big blue for leaving her friend and to top it off she can't understand him. Lu has visions of her an Axton being attacked and her visions always come to pass. These two must face dangers together, find away to work together and trust one another. Only when trust is built can acceptance and love follow. When that happens they'll be able to have a future together and to home! Excellent story and I'm looking forward to the next one.💖💖🔥🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖💖
This is a fantastic continuation of the series. ***** Rating: 4 stars Steam: 3 flames Genre/Tropes: Alien, Sci-Fi Romance, Language Barriers, Fated Mates ***** This is Lu and Axton's story.
Another exciting, adventurous, and steamy alien romance from Ella Maven. I found the plot to be captivating, the characters to be well-developed, and the steam to be spicy.
Pure and simple, I enjoyed this book, as I have all of Ella Maven's other works, and the introduction of the Priedans piqued my interest even more. I truly hope to see more of the Priedans in the future!
In short, I recommend this book, series, and all of Ella Maven’s Drixonian books. Yep, I will keep reading as long as she writes them!
The dynamic between these two characters is just too much fun for me. They contrast each other very nicely, with Lu being more talkative and social while Axton is a bit of a quiet grump. Axton also starts out “grumpy” but ends up more “golden retriever” by the end, which is a fun transition to watch.
The pacing is done very well, I feel like I know the characters before they have a real romance which makes the romantic moments more believable and heartwarming. I appreciate Lu’s voice, she has a sassy attitude but it doesn’t come off as mean or snarky. She’s very relatable for me.
As usual I just love the author’s writing style, she does a great job at solidifying her characters and making me care about them while also giving us romance and action. Just great stuff.
I had high hopes and got disappointed,so i guess that's more my fault than anything. I found lu kind of annoying, and her incessant "i'm-not-a-virgin" statements and pop culture references got irksome very quickly. axton was boring, with no personality. It was mentioned in a previous book that he took no initiative, but to actually see it play out and know that all he did was sleep and wait to die was a major letdown. I was hoping he would be the deep, strong silent type, but nope, just average and underachieving. Also, the previous book stated lizard people, but i guess that got changed. My dislike of the characters affected my enjoyment of this book.
Maybe my favorite Drixonian story of all!! I’ve been waiting for Axton’s story from the beginning of Outcasts of Corin. His solemnity and his two long swords always notable through the previous books. Lu and Ax are an A+ couple with some of my favorite tropes, opposites attract, loud/quiet, would die for her/would kill for him. Axton’s growth through this was beautiful! Listening to him actually have to think instead of mentally escaping reality through sleep was very powerful.
It was so dynamic, I love learning about new alien races! The Priedans were a great addition to this universe!
As soon as the girls mentioned in the previous book that’d they would need to keep Lu’s talkative-self away from the warrior-of-few-words, I know this was going to be the next duo.
🛸language barrier 🛸who hurt you? 🛸fated mates 🛸the silent one and the chatterbox 🛸rescue mission gone wrong 🛸learning self-love
Lu and Axton’s story was sweet.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 (4.5 stars) is that half star just for the “who hurt you” moment? …maybe 🤫
“We keep fighting for each other, and we’ll always meet halfway.”
This story was absolutely wonderful. From Lu and Axton's first meeting to their dangerous mission to finally making it home - every moment was just so lovely to read. There was plenty of spice and attraction, lots of intrigue and some new allies that might come in handy with the impending war. Bring on the next book - I have to know what happens!!
I love meeting all the new species on this planet. The Cors were something else and I felt so bad for Farron. That poor boy went through so much and still lost his sister. I can understand how his parents felt not wanting to lose him too, but making Ax go to the rescue was extreme. Madrid is a loose cannon and I can see where that one is headed next 😁 . Lu can definitely be an asset to the Drix. Well done.
This read too fast for me! I wanted/needed more. It felt like it was over before it began!!
I do love this world... love the characters that we meet. Sweet sweet ending too... Poor Farron tho... he did what he thought was the right thing, only for it not to be... really thought that there would be some sort of miracle there. Ah well!!
I absolutely love this author and am so glad she keeps coming up with new books and characters! Was surprised by this release but finished it relatively quickly and it was another winner! Definitely loved Ax and Lu together and I look forward for Maisie’s story next! Can’t wait!
I love this series, I talk about it at least once a day 😂 I loved meeting a new species in this one, I loved Lu who isn't afraid to speak up, loudly and constantly. I loved Axton and reading about it falling for Lu and seeing him accept that he's worthy of happiness. Also I cannot WAIT for the next one. We got a preview and the cocky pilot is gonna be great!
Waiting for the tall drink of water named Axton ? Finally ! I like the way Ms. Maven comes up with the wild scenarios for the books characters. Makes for very interesting and fun reading. Virgins abound in this series and I'm not talking about the women ! Buy this and enjoy !
Axton is a big beautiful quiet soldier who is sweet, strong and devilish handsome.
Lu my beautiful sweet caring lu who can talk for England and would probably win gold in the Olympics twice over god I love her. I love the pried clan , Farron Is sweet I hope we get there books ( if we haven’t already)
I had been interested in Axton since he was first introduced in the series. This book did not disappoint. Lu is strong defiant character. She trusts her instincts. Their relationship development went well with the action of the mission they go on. Highly recommend. I look forward to the next book
Most strong silent type characters. (Except for the creeps, etc) Glad he met his mate. Loved there first encounter and there exploring each other. Was hoping the author had them rescue the other furry intelligent beings from first book. Only disappointment I have of authors series. Because humans, especially Americans often want to go rescue those they love or relate to.
This series just keeps getting better and better 😃. It's awesome that slowly but surely each woman gets a mate and finds their friends 😄. Lots of action, intense situations, nasty bad things and wonderful characters 😉. Thanks again Ella, can't wait to read more 🤓.
