With the magical veil between our world and the fae realm down, the life we live has gotten weirder by the day.
Imagine cloud shape bawdiness, venomous invaders sneaking through tears in the fabric between worlds, and waking up to realize San Francisco isn't where it was the night before.
Yeah, lost a city? Call 1-800-Team-Trouble.
Handling the whacked and weird of the world is my wheelhouse.
It doesn’t matter if it’s murderous escaped felons, back-stabbing sorcerers, crazy fae queens, or even slighted ex-lovers, Team Trouble is there to tackle the tough situations.
And by tackle, I mean scramble to keep it all from blowing up in our faces.
Case Files of an Urban Druid brings you more druid adventure with Fiona and Clan Cumhaill. If you enjoy family shenanigans, and mythical tales of magic and mystery, you’ve found your family.
About Auburn Tempest Auburn Tempest is a pen name for JL Madore, a multi-genre novelist giving life to Fantasy, Paranormal, and Sci-Fi Romance. Under the pen name, Auburn Tempest, she writes Urban Fantasy without the sexy-steamy. But whether Romance or not, she loves to twist Alpha heroes and kick-ass heroines into chaotic, hilarious, fast-paced, magical situations and make them really work for their happy endings.
She lives outside of Toronto, Canada with her love of over 35 years and a menagerie of family, friends, and animals.
Even after 17 books (15 of the origin series) I still love every character and enjoy the absolutely ridiculous shenanigans they all get up to. This is one of my favorite series of all time. It’s witty and fun and just a damn good time and I can’t get enough of it!
This is a decent enough instalment in the series. It is not great but decent.
It follows the first book and Fiona is still the magical troubleshooter running from one problem to another.
The author ups the stakes big time in this book by making San Francisco disappear. Too bad you cannot make Newsom’s cesspools disappear like that in real life.
There’s the usual good things in the book like Fiona & Co, the bantering, some ass-kicking and all that.
I did feal that the author went overboard this early in the series by making entire cities just disappear and all that. It felt a bit like the author went for sensation instead of putting work in the story.
I also do not like this crap with Dionysus being powerless. He is one the characters I like the most in these books, but not when he is powerless, so I hope the author rectifies that stupid decision sooner rather than later.
And you thought that San Francisco was already “different”??
Well, You haven’t seen anything, until you’ve seen San Francisco on Faye Prana. In fact, immortal lava lamps will seem downright normal in comparison.
Auburn and Michael have finally perfected the art of the misdirect… You will think you have it figured out, and you do, and then it turns out you don’t. That might not make any sense, but don’t worry, it will when she read the book.
It’s a bit odd, and it doesn’t have quite the same “feel” as the rest of these two series have carried. It’s a bit more action and mystery and a little less fam-jam. But then again, they all live in separate homes, for the most part, now, so some distancing seems normal and organic.
Honestly, I am all a-flutter and on pins and needles, waiting to see what they manage to do in New Orleans… I can’t even imagine!
I know that doesn’t help, but when I’ve read all the books in the first series - and loved them - then by book two in the following series I’m questioning things… welp, it’s not looking promising. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still all in for the characters, but so far, this series is just lacking some nebulous ingredient that the Urban Druid series managed to capture. But perhaps it’s the fact that magic is now outed to the wider world and I’m not a fan of the characters that are rigid in their disapproval, or hatred, of magic. Perhaps by the time I’ve read book three I’ll be in tune with the way this new adventure is heading 🤷🏻♀️
I get so lost in the adventures of Fiona that sometimes I forget to stop and tell the rest of the world how truly magnificent this series and the one that preceded it are. If you are into heroism, Magic, battle bears, adventure and Druidism with a sprinkle of history thrown in and then woven together for one epic tale after another...then this series is definitely for you! I cannot recommend it enough. But, I will warn you, it is easy to get sucked in and hard to put down😊
Wow just can’t get enough of fiona and the whole gang, there exploits are mint as usual still love the one liners has me cracked up all the time, fiona(my name sake so reminds me of me, lol. N Sloan is my man Simon ) we carry on like this too but without the danger thank god. Already got the nxt book on preorder, then will add them to my audio books once they come out. A brill set amarite
This book is a little bit different in that Team Trouble is still up to their eyeballs with trouble, but not everyone was involved in the escapade and the adventure is actually pretty low keyed, which is perfect. It's nice to have a storyline where not everything and everyone is in panic mode. Don't get me wrong, there is plenty of action....it's just that Fi and her family have a little bit of downtime. I liked it.
If you read the last book I reviewed then you know that reading this book is also fantastic with something for both Males and Fenales to enjoy so go on shoo and read this book. Are you still here I have no more wisdom to impart on you other than you should be downloading this book and reading it. If you have not read the box sets I will advise you read them first. Enjoy them all like I have done.
Book two takes Fiona to San Francisco in the fae world, I must admit I did not enjoy this one as much I am starting to get a little bored of the Greeks and they are in the books as much as Fiona is (poor slone) she asked Nicky if he was ok while fussing over the Greek God but slone went down as well, shouldn't she asked him if he was ok she knew he was in pain helping nicky?
I really enjoy the dynamics of the characters in this series. You have a lot of funny things, some drama but always in a good way. Can't wait for the next one to come out. Maybe if we're lucky she'll give us short stories of the characters, that would be a blast.
I've read the whole series and I've read the next 2 books If you want to make some new friends and you like sarcastic people Who love the hell out of 1 another These are the books for you Don't take my words start reading you'll find out where yourself......😉
Another really good book about Fi, her family and crew. I look forward to this series and the books always go to the top of my tbr list. The family and friends dynamics are great and the stories are always full of fun and adventure. I like the new characters that are being introduced and am looking forward to seeing how they add to the fun.
I admit I was nervous about how this was going to work once the original series wrapped up, but I really love how these books are laid out and going. The characters and plot lines suit this style of story telling perfectly and it's fun to see them traveling to other parts of the non glamorous world zones.
I’m so glad the Urban Druid crew continues to exist via these case file stories. The original series was great and these new adventures keep improving that status. I’d highly recommend these books to anyone who likes witty characters with hearts and honor, entertaining story lines, and a touch of magic.
So far I've read two books in this new series that continues the story of the Gumball family and their friends. It does not disappoint. So happy to be able to continue with adventures of Fiona and Sloan. I look forward to learning more about some of the other characters as well.
Well, this changes things. No spoilers other than, I did not see that coming. Nikon - both Greeks!!!!! Nikon might get what he's so long been denied, we shall see.
The characters and story-telling are as awesome as always. The fleshing out of this universe in the second Fi and Family series is seriously on point!! Keep on writing!!!!!
This was a little different shift, but still the clan that I have come to love. We have added some new players and got back one of my favs. This one gave us a dip into the fae realm. We learned some history on our favor immortal. It is really a fun read!
Congratulations to Auburn Tempest and Michael Anderle for this amazing series. It’s extremely hard to find such interesting and e,xciting authors who not only write intelligently but also provide top rated plots, characters and excitement in the stories. I’m really looking forward to the next book.
Stretch your imagination as the adventures of clan Cumhaill, the urban Druids just keep getting wilder. By now I’m sure you’re hooked, and if not, start from the beginning as they learn of their new legacy of power, and you will soon be a devoted fan of Fiona and family 👍👍👍💜
Another smashing success for Fiona, so thrilled her and team trouble survived and thrived. Super sad about Dionysus though I’m glad he’s back, but I’m sad. He doesn’t have his powers. That seems super scary. Definitely another book worth reading. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.
This adventure with Fi and her team started with a bang. The plot had twists you won't expect. Lots of interaction with a new Guild team. Can't wait for the next assignment. Great series.
When a city goes missing, who else would you call... Team Trouble strikes again with the help of some new friends. I can't wait to see what the team gets up to in the next one!
Love the new characters that joined Team Trouble! Looking forward to the next batch of magical crazy being served up in New Orleans, laissez les bon temps rouler!
This fam and friends will capture your imagination and your heart! All I can say is try these books. If you’re into mystical creatures and wild adventures with lots of heart, these books are for you.
Best series ever! Fi and company never disappoint. Great storyline and believable characters make this so much fun to read. Careful, though, or you may never get anything else done in your life, lol!
Ever evolving characters bigger than life! Fun read!
Having read this series from the beginning, the characters each have come to life with depth, substance, and relatability. I am looking forward to each new adventure!
