Colette is a young female doctor who is run ragged by the demands of her patients and dejectedly falls into a magical well. Did she comitt suicide no time to ponder that as she is now in the underworld and her newest patient is Lord Hades himself!
The title sounds very sober and dark but while it does have its introspective moments its at heart very lighthearted.I ended up quite like this one it style and mood reminds me of the mangas of Julietta Suzuki without being a carboncopy

Hab die ersten 3 Kapitel beim MANGA DAY 22 bekommen & sie nun gelesen.
Der Name des Manga ist furchtbar gewählt und nicht mal wahr.
Man erwartet eine traurige Depressionsgeschichte, stattdessen bekommt man eine Fantasygeschichte über griechische Götter.
Die Kapitel waren okay, aber haben sich gezogen und mich nicht gepackt.

This was a cute intro and a fun premise. I love how headstrong and chaotic she is. I hope the story keeps up the banter.

The English version of this recently came out and I believe is an omnibus of the first two volumes. But I have to say this manga series thus far has been amazingly cozy, and gives off slice of life vibes despite the supernatural and themes of death. This manga really touches on burnout, finding meaning in your life, and viewing death instead of just an end as a beginning. It’s cozy, and comforting in a way that makes you feel really good while reading it. This is definitely a series I am going to be following, and I will likely reread it many more times before the end of it. I highly recommend for anyone who likes slice of life with deep meanings and stories that are comforting with slight hints of romance in there too.

I'm a big fan of shoujo romance manga and the female lead are often the same boring type-kind, pure, helpful and extremely optimistic. Although this female lead, Colette is also the same but she has another characteristics which is level headed with a dash of stubbornness. I guess that makes her a bit tsundere as you progress from chapter to chapter, she begins to reveal her kind side little by little so that makes me gradually like her character. More importantly, I found the ghosts are so cute and not that one that we usually stereotype as cold-hearted, scary and etc. Instead, they are shy, cute and funny which makes them a wonderful side characters. I also like how the style of the artist that makes the story even more enjoyable.

A story about a doctor in a village who is recruited to cure Hade's illness.
This story was a cute one, Colette learns to love her job again and Hades gains a companion. It was a bit fast paced at first, but then it slowed down to a better pacing since this used to be a one-shot.
The art is nice and I love the use of Greek mythology in this.

I do not have any issues with the story, it's super cute! What I don't like about this series is Colette's design. She is a literal doctor and looks like a thirteen year old child, while Hades looks like he is at least eighteen. I feel like as the god of the underworld he should look more intimidating and as a doctor Colette should definitely look more mature!

昔のグリシャの話。有名な神々も英雄もたっぷりがコメディ的に描いている。ヘラクレスはライオンの毛の服ではなくてぬいぐるみの熊みたいな服。そしてローズ茶好き。ヘラクレスがローズ茶を飲んでいる。最高。
ケレべロスはかわいい子犬三匹。
怖いヘーデスは無言でかっこいいイケメン。
ヘロインはだらだらの薬師。面白い。キャラの関係も面白い。次に楽しみ。

Als einzige Ärztin in ihrer Stadt ist Colette von früh bis spät so sehr gefordert, dass es ihr eines Tages zu viel wird und sie beschließt, sich im Dorfbrunnen zu ertränken. Aber anstatt zu sterben landet sie in der Unterwelt, wo schon der nächste Patient auf sie wartet und das ist nicht irgendwer: Hades, einer der drei großen Götter und Herrscher der Unterwelt.
Meine Meinung:
Diese Reihe ist mir beim Stöbern in meinem Lieblings-Mangaladen aufgefallen und nicht der Titel und der Klappentext machten mich sehr neugierig, auch das Thema Mythologie reizte mich. Schon seit meiner Kindheit verschlinge ich sehr gerne Geschichten, Filme und Comics/Mangas mit diesem Thema und eine Ärztin für den Gott der Unterwelt klang wirklich interessant. Dieser Auftakt machte mir viel Spaß und las sich sehr flott, bot aber noch Luft nach oben und wirkte wie so ein typischer Einstiegsband, der neugierig auf den Rest der Reihe machen soll.
Zunächst bekam man einen Einblick in Colettes Leben, die sich gerade erst als Ärztin in dem Dorf niedergelassen hatte. Ihr Leben bestand von morgens bis abends nur aus Arbeit, Stress und bot absolut null Erholung, sodass sie schnell an ihre Grenzen kam, dass sich ihr nur Selbstmord als Lösung bot. Nur dieser Versuch missglückte und stattdessen fand sie sich in der Unterwelt wieder, wo sie den Herrscher Hades behandeln soll.
Schon die ersten Seiten fand ich wunderbar skurill und machten definitiv Spaß. Der kurze Einblick in ihren Alltag fand ich von der Länge her sehr passend und die Autorin ließ sich nicht viel Zeit, bevor es auch schon in die Unterwelt ging und Hades seinen Auftritt bekam. Ehrlich gesagt stellte ich ihn mir ein wenig anders vor, fand diese Version von ihm aber auch sehr passend und der erste Eindruck machte mich auf jeden Fall neugierig. Seine zahlreichen Aufgaben, die ihm mittlerweile seinen Tribut forderten, wurden kurz angeschnitten, aber ich fand es schon sehr interessant und spannend. Mein Highlight waren die Skelette, die als seine Diener nichts von Colette hielten und dies auch immer wieder zum Ausdruck brachten. Ihre Zickerein brachten so viel Spaß, auch wenn ich ihre übertriebene Fürsorge schon niedlich fand. Die Geschichte sprang ein wenig wild hin und her und brauchte etwas, um sich zu festigen, aber dafür, dass es ein erster Band ist, fand ich es nicht schlimm. Ich hätte mir nur eine etwas gradlinigere Rahmenhandlung gewünscht, da es zum Ende hin noch sehr turbulent wurde.
Der Zeichenstil gefiel mir gut und ich fand ihn niedlich. Zwar wirkte er bei den Figuren an manchen Stellen etwas zu einfach, aber irgendwie hatte es auch seinen gewisse Charme und gerade die Umgebungen wurden schön detailreich gezeichnet.
Fazit:
Es war ein typischer Einstiegsband, der sehr turbulent war und wo ich mich erst an die Figuren und die Handlung gewöhnen musste, der aber auch viel Spaß machte und seinen gewissen Charme besaß. Die Charaktere fand ich sehr interessant und vor allem die Skelette und Keberos waren ein Highlight. Die Geschichte sprang etwas wild hin und her, aber das Thema Mythologie wurde sehr schön verarbeitet und bot durchaus Neues. Ich bin auf mehr gespannt und von mir gibt es:

This is a sweet manga about a young apothecary and her unlikely friendship with the lord of the underworld. Colette is so honest and sweet, and her drive to help people is definitely part of her charm. Hades, while being a stoic and sometimes severe person also has that drive to help others that is part of what makes the relationship between the two of them so wholesome. I really liked reading this book, although the way the author plays fast and loose with Greek/Roman mythology is sometimes distracting to someone who has knowledge of Greek and Roman myths. For all that I kept saying to myself, "Demeter wouldn't say that," "That's not what Hercules' story was about at all," "Zeus would not act like that," I found this entire story engaging and it left me with a smile on my face.

really good and interesting twist on greek mythology in a manga setting. i like how colette isn't helpless or reliant on the male lead (hades) like a lot of other female mcs tend to be in manga. also i know its set in the past (like pre modern medicine and technology) but i'm still bafflled that colette is 17 and hades is like immortal and that shes a doctor or whatever. usually i hate the teenager x immortal being trope (like trust me i DESPISE this trope) but it was better here because its not set in modern times and because you can tell colette is an adult in her world (people talk about how she is of marriageble age, she has her own occupation, she is in charge of two subordinates, etc.)

Ein wirklich toller Start! Habe Colette, Hades und die anderen Figuren sofort ins Herz geschlossen und mir gab die ganze Geschichte ein cozy Gefühl. Es gab auch bereits ein paar „Lektionen“ (wenn man sie so nennen will), die trotz des fantastischen Faktors wie Slice-of-Life rüberkommen. Es gibt Momente, die einen wirklich zum nachdenken anregen, und im nächsten lacht man wieder. Ich glaube, diese Reihe könnte zu einem Favoriten werden für mich. Die Bonusstory am Ende fand ich jetzt eher so semi, aber es geht ja vor allem um die Hauptstory :) Freue mich schon weiterzulesen.

Volume 1 was so adorable and amazing!!
The story is simple, but the characters are constantly developing and it's so touching and honestly heartwarming! It's a silly masterpiece!
In the German version (not sure if it's there in the English one) there is an extra mini one-shot manga not related to the series in the end and it made me cry 😭😭

I loved everything about this book. It was a cute story, I like Colette, and I will take everything underworld please. This book did not disappoint. If it were only a stand-alone, I would probably love it forever. I worry about continuing the series, however, because Persephone is nowhere in sight. We even meet Demeter at one point. Please don't disappoint me adorable series!

The "shojo" art style and laid back story telling in this series coupled with a strong and capable female lead really hits the spot! Feels very reminiscent of certain authors' work... It's hard to put my finger on, but perhaps Nari Kusakawa most of all?

I couldn't get into it and while I love anything having to do with gods, idk if Hades would love this particular depiction of himself, lmao. I might give this a second try sometime just to make sure this wasn't a mood issue.

Cute und funny aber fehlt mir bisher noch etwas an Substanz und Drama. Ich gebe der Serie aber noch die Chance sich in den nächsten Bänden zu beweisen.
Die Zeichnung haben eine gute Leichtigkeit, die sie sehr zur Story passen lassen.

花ゆめの漫画なので、Edgyではなく安心して読める。
悪く言えば、物語展開は先が読める。
それと、「薬屋のひとりごと」を読んだ後なので、主人公のコレットを見てると猫猫を連想する。
それにしても、ガイコツ達とケルベロス(お腹空いてるとケル/ベロ/スーという3匹の子犬になる)が可愛い。
