Rebel & Her Knights

Rate this book
My name is Rebel, and I’m the only Omega resistance leader.

I should be hiding from my dad who marked me as a Reject. But instead, I fall into the path of the impossibly beautiful, wealthy, and influential Knight pack, during my first heat. Surely, I won’t be claimed by these enemies of the resistance? The captivating Alphas, their Beta bodyguard, and gorgeous but broken male Omega stand for everything that I’m fighting against.

Can I survive my heat in the arms of my enemies? Will they reject me, sending me to the Omega Institute to be sold, if they discover that I’m not their cherished Omega but a secret rebel?

But then, the Knight pack have as many secrets as me.

This was very easily a solid “No” for me. This is short, poorly planned, and ridiculous on all accounts.

The men are nothing but pretty faces with hollow ally builds for character traits.

The FL herself is unimaginative and flat.

The society in which this is set is also poorly described. They have Tom Holland and Brad Pitt but darn, that equality thing has been so hard to pin down for hundreds of years you guys. The Institution as it’s described literally sounds like something straight out of a bad movie evil villain plot. “Aah yes, the Institution-innatore.” *speaks in Dr. Duffenshmirtz cackle* The dynamics are the same (A,B, O) but the heavy lean on politics this story uses to prop itself up isn’t delved into properly.

I have no idea if this world is 99% traditionalists with 1% neo-traditional (idk wtf to call their group aside from “Rebels”) or if it’s like America. Split down the middle so that both sides have a party, a platform, and things might have more traditional leanings in some places than other more progressive canoodling in others. (Think TX vs CA or NY vs FL.)

Have I mentioned that this version of an “omega institute” is just so buggy for me?

The concept of an O.I (Omega Institute) isn’t a foreign or far fetched idea, I’ve seen it done before with good success, and I definitely can see why they would make sense/ be necessary in this kind of world. The difference tho, with this OI and OI’s in other Omegaverse novels, is that the other novels that do this describe how broken the system is much, much better. Which of course only makes it all the more believable.

This OI isn’t one of those. The institute should be described as a solution vs something that’s just bigotry. At the very least, if that’s how the author wants to play it, then I at least want more world building to back up those clearcut instances/ trauma’s of being discriminated against as a designation. Bc from what I saw, the FL was pretty narrow minded herself and seemed to view everything as if through a keyhole.

The Senator blocking the bill?
“He’s the devil! He probably mistreats his Omega and is an insufferable Alpha-hole!”

The Beta she meets one night that she doesn’t bother really listening to before passing judgment? “Oh my gosh! Your going to get in so much trouble for me! Your Alpha better not hurt you! Wait! I’ll think of a backup plan to get you out bc your probably in an awful situation rn!”

At the ball when she witnesses the ML’s father straight up assaulting him before strutting out from her hiding spot after the fact, only to immediately smirk and laugh at his suffering?

Seriously. She was positively tickled witnessing her own logicked “righteousness” play out on a fully grown, independent, adult person who was being manhandled and humiliated so aggressively by their own father right in front of her. This RIVETING hero/ holier-than-thou complex she has is sooooooo on brand for being the leader of such a liberal movement. What an understanding and compassionate Omega she is. 😑(🤥)

This entire novel was just a drag. (And mind you, I only got 50% of the way through before calling it quits but…) There we’re just so many things I didn’t like. Like how things seem to work out perfectly no matter what for the FL, that’s some pretty heavy plot armor you got on there girl.

“I have a sneaking suspicion this Omega bailout is a trap!”, “Nope! All good! It was just close!”.

“Oh no, I’m going into heat at a ball with dozens of Alphas!” (But none of those other Alphas are going nuts or going into a frenzy?) “wait! This Beta I met ONCE will save me!” (AND offer up his ENTIRE pack to bond with- who she’s only met one other in it technically!)

Oh, and how easily they all fall into bed together (sans the other Omega which was just wrong in my opinion like, “here girl! You can have my bed, my men and my clothes! I’ll just wait outside!” (said no Omega ever). Things just ended up working out without any real work.

None of this novel felt as if it had any real effort put into it.

Not the characters, not their motivations, and definitely not the s€x. So this was just a no for me. It was a useless read and entirely forgettable. (Sorry if this all sounds a bit harsh.)

This was just okay with problems galore.

2.5 Stars rounded up.

It was just very juvenile and shallow. Not near enough character development or relationship building to even come close to the "I love you" declarations after one week. Also, I appreciate trying to show us a strong omega but making the head alpha and the omega both D/s switches really fell flat and unbelievable to me. The icing on the cake....there was barely any steam and I figured out the big reveal in the very beginning when introducing the characters.

It felt like the author was trying to shove in so many rebellious OV anti-tropes that she didn't pull them off successfully. (By anti-tropes I mean that the author went about making EVERY character not act like their designation) It didn't even feel like an Omegaverse anymore.

Somehow, I managed to read the second book in this series first. I got confused and thought this was in the Havoc poisonverse series, lol. But I do think I remember enjoying that one better so maybe the series gets better as it goes. Take from that what you will.

Look, I'm not the kind of reader really enjoying the full blown omega verse with the extreme power imbalances. I understand why people like them, but I prefer my relationships a little sweeter, a little more romantic and of course a little more equal. I'm therefore quite glad that there are more and more so called sweetverse books and I'm even gladder that Johns has been writing one. This book was on top of my wishlist and I was therefore very happy that I got an arc!

And this is one of those sweetverses that is just too cute! I've been giggling out loud in my bed while reading it. The two alphas, the beta and the other omega in the pack easily stole my heart. All in their own very unique way. Of course, the plottwist in the end was not that much of a surprise, I have read a few too many romances to recognize small hints when they are presented to me, but that only made the book better.

Like all omegaverse books this book focusses mostly on the pack dynamics, the getting to know each other and of course the physical connections between everyone. However, there was also another plot hidden underneath and although it was not always the main focus, it was quite interesting and incredibly well executed! I appreciated all the characters in this book even more when I reached the end of the story and everything was resolved very nicely!

And not only the pack stole my heart, but Rebel stole my heart too. I really loved how she was capable of being in the right mind, even in the worst and most intense of circumstances. That doesn't mean she doesn't mess up at times and it doesn't mean she doesn't make mistakes, but it does mean that she's easy to like, easy to understand and easy to root for her. It's a pity this is a stand-alone, but luckily there will at least be more books set in this world. I can't wait for them!

It wasnt bad... I didn't connect with the writing style or the characters. The big surprise wasn't all that surprising and it came off like lazy writing.
Very surface level. If that's the type of read you're looking for then you'll probably like it.

Could have been great

This had the bones to be a GREAT book. But for me it fell flat.
There was so many interesting things going on but it all felt rushed. I feel it could have been a duet with the storyline and the side storyline.
It is an insta-love which I expected because of how short it is and predictable who the mystery love interest would turn out to be.
I feel the brother and her best friend were pushed off screen and that was a huge part of the plot IMO. Again have it a duet and we could have a real flesh out.
I just didn’t feel like I had good info on Leo to truly care for him 🤷‍♀️ I would have loved to go deeper in his past.
Too much going on for it to be so short and that made me sad

So I have been buying all this authors omegaverse books in this series and just stockpiling them without ever having read a book by her 😳. Bold move with big rewards because this book was so good 😊❤️🙌.

Rebel is a brave omega with a big heart. And her pack … just swoon.

I’m so captivated by this series I’m gonna move right onto Ember & Her Marshalls.
Lucien is a great brother and alpha and so deserves his own story.

Wow just wow! I read this in one sitting! Every book of Rosemary's I read I think ohh this is my favourite book but I really think that this time it's true! I absolutely loved the power dynamics, strong, passionate and sassy Rebel, fun and sexy Xavier, stoic and layered Falcon, sweet and loving Scott, ray of sunshine Leo, strong and protective Lucian. I adored how this book played out and can't wait for more in this world!

I am in love with omegaverse books.
Rebel is an omega leading the omega resistance with her alpha brother and her beta best friend.
She likes her fellow alpha resistance member she knows as prince and hate the senator knight with a passion.
When she meets by chance the beta of the knight pack Scott her life take a turn.
She is now with her dreaded ennemies but are they really her ennemies or are they hiding secrets 👀
I really like the Sass of Rebel.
Some thing were easy to guess with the clues we were given and it was really satisfying when everything came together.
This was a really sweet read with two alphas in the harem, a beta and a fellow omega
This book has MM 🔥

A Firm Favourite
This is one of my favourite omegaverses so far!
Rebel is an omega listed as a reject for her rebellious nature….meaning she has a voice that challenges traditionalists 😳
Her and her brother Lucian are on the run from their father and in the meantime have set up the Resistance, where their aim is to help save omegas 😌
However on a night where it all goes wrong Rebel comes to the attention of the Knight pack who are supportive of some traditionalistic values, but it’s on them to save her 😬
There’s Falcon the dominant alpha who stands for traditional values, Xavier the flirty fun alpha, Scott their protective beta and Leo a male omega damaged by everything Rebel fights against!!
However their connections are undeniable and the switching between them is 🥵🥵🥰 even if they clash over some of their views and the hidden secrets are building! There’s politics, power and passions constantly colliding throughout this book bringing plenty of drama and angst, as well as some misunderstandings!
But can Rebel really balance her needs as an Omega as well as being the resistance leader?!

I did enjoy this story and it was almost a 4 for me. I just felt like it needed to be a littttttle bit longer. The conflict was resolved way too quickly at the end. For people who are running a resistance I wanted there to be a little more finesse in the plan and a little more of a team ‘working together’ aspect. There also just wasn’t enough page time to get to know the characters, which is always a struggle in standalones. I do think going standalone was the right move for this story, but it could have been about 1/3rd longer to add in some more pastoral scenes to build the relationships and to include a little more tension and conflict. The writing is good and the plot is really decent (although a little contrived when we’re talking about a rebel leader named rebel). It was very obvious from the start what the identity of Prince is so I was a little surprised that she didn’t figure that out herself 🥲

Rebel and Her Knights is the first book in Rosemary A. Johns’s new Pack Bong series. Rebel is the leader of the Omega resistance – intent on helping Omegas who are being sent to the Institute for “retraining” and to be broken. Her life has already been chaos, but when she finds herself in the path and care of her enemies it’s a fight to resist giving them her heart...and her trust.
Rebel and Her Knights is one of those books that you are absolutely going to devour the minute you start reading this book. The author sets the stage beautifully with this book and draws you right in with little teasers before you get to the actual book. Your interest is piqued and you’re eager for more as you finally get to the meat of the story and dive deeper to learn more about these engaging characters.
This story is a puzzle that you will enjoy putting together, but just pace yourself and try not to get overly excited. As the pieces come together you’ll realize some truths before Rebel, but the fun is in watching things bloom between the characters a little bit at a time. You’re going to want to pick a favorite out of the group, but that’s not going to be as easy as you think. Each character has their perks, but they all come together to create something truly perfect.
You’re going to appreciate how the author gives us backstory in just the right places to really build the story and give it a stronger foundation and tie you closer to the characters in this story. While you are falling for certain characters, the author is going to be making sure that there are certain ones you’ll come to despise. It’s the perfect balance and they all play their part beautifully.
There will be some questions left unanswered at the end of this book, but as the author promises another book to come – you’re going to be eager for it just like me. The past almost always comes back to haunt you, so I know you’re going to be just as curious as me as to when that is going to happen. Be forewarned though – once you pick up this book you’re not going to want to put it down so get comfortable.
I’m choosing to rate this book 4.5 out of 5 stars. I enjoyed Rebel’s story so much. I don’t agree with everything that she does, but I have a good understanding as to why. She’s an engaging character and will steal your heart before you know it. I’m honestly jealous of her good fortune. LOL! Can’t wait to find out what happens next. I definitely recommend this book if you are a fan of paranormal romance novels and/or a fan of this particular author.

Rebel and Her Knights is the first book in Rosemary A. Johns’s new Pack Bonds series and possibly my favourite by her so far! A mystery wrapped up in intrigue not knowing who you can trust or believe. Rebel by name and nature she’s not by any means your normal omega, then again this book flips some of your norm dynamics of omegaverse on its head and I’m definitely here for it. Fun, sassy, spicy and incredible characters you can’t help but love it’s definitely a book I won’t be forgetting. Can’t wait to see her brothers story next!

Fabulous! I am on a omegaverse kick and this book fight in perfectly. Rebel is a rejected Omega fighting to live outside the norm. She and her alpha brother have run from home and are trying to protect abused omegas. It’s an absolutely captivating book that will grab your attention from the beginning and immerse you in Rebels life. We see a group of political alphas that seem to be the enemy but are they really? 🤔 an absolutely amazing book that will give you all the feels. 💜🖤

Steamy read!!

Another amazing book by Rosemary Johns. This author brings the heat with a great storyline and amazing characters. Rebel and Lucien her brother are an Alpha and a Omega. She is trying not to go into heat, because she is in hiding. They have an Alpha out there helping them try to set the Omega free. This is their mission. But no one knows who that Alpha is. When Rebel sneaks out to see what is going on, she is meets and is rescued by a Beta. There is a secret group with government ties, but they are not known to anyone. Their identities are secret. Then when Rebel takes the wrong pill to hold off her mating, things start happening. Can they complete their mission? Or will Rebel mess up and her real identity will be known? Rosemary Johns knows how to hook readers. She takes you on a wild ride and you can't stop reading. A great book that leaves you wanting more!!!!

Loved it

I came pretty late to the omegaverse party but once I jumped in I realised how much I loved them and this is no exception. I love how Rebel is not what you expect a typical Omega to be and I think that is what I love the most. A well written story with plenty of heat. Looking forward to book 2.

Enjoyed reading this

What happens when you find when find exactly what never expected to find? Ya, that's what happens to Rebel....she is fighting behind the scenes to help others like her and to try and change the fate of so many....and in doing so somehow finds what she never knew she wanted. I love the relationship with her brother that she has as well

Rebel is an Omega who has been keeping her first heat at bay by taking suppressant pills. Her Alpha brother, Lucien, is the only one who has protected her throughout her life. Along with a Beta from their pack, they leave and make a fresh start in the hopes of changing the dynamics that is the Alpha-Beta-Omega hierarchy. Along the way, Rebel bumps into a handsome and sexy Beta named Scott. He ends up saving her from a random drunken attack and eventually wants her to come to a ball being thrown by her arch enemy Senator Knight. While she hopes to use the ball as a way to further her agenda, life throws her a curveball and things really start getting interesting.

A definite must read for anyone who likes omegaverse books! Rosemary Johns did a wonderful job pulling me into this world and having me fall in love with her characters!

Upended my world

Rebel, an omega, has been labeled a reject by her father and spends most of her time hating Falcon, a senator and chief alpha, and the rest of his pack. As the story progresses a rescue gets dicey, a gala gets spicy, and to survive what’s coming their blood may have to turn icy. Rosemary A. Johns upended my world with Rebel and Her Knights. The knights in shining armor have plenty of secrets, but then so does Rebel, and getting to the bottom of the problem allows for plenty of mischief along the way. I can’t wait for Lucien’s story in Ember and her Marshalls. This non-shifting omegaverse story is worth reading again and again.

I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.

I fell in love with Rebel from the very beginning. She was just an incredible character. Also that twist at the end was absolutely perfect. I love Rosemary's books but man I am really starting to love the omegaverse....maybe because if I was in one of these books that would probably be my spot lol. I digress. The knight pack is wonderful especially considering everything they went through. 10/10

I had high hopes for this book and I was absolutely not let down! I had somewhat of an idea of how I thought the story would go but I was pleasantly surprised by the plot. I love Rebel and how even though she likes being an omega, she is working to help other omegas who might not like their place in life. I also like how everyone in her new pack also defies their placement and breaks the societal expectations. Leo absolutely has my heart, he is so sweet and willing to sacrifice anything to help those he loves. I recommend picking this up if you are looking for a really good omegaverse and I’m so excited for book two!!!

Fantastic

This is the first book in a new series. I absolutely loved Rebel. She's a tough Omega leading a resistance fighting against the traditional views of what Omegas should be and rescuing then if needed. One night she must make a decision on weather to bond with the Knight pack who represent what she's fighting against. I adored the guys too. They are each unique from each other. There is a lot of heat between Rebel and her men. Everything is not what is seems and their are twists and turns. I highly recommend this book.

Rebel and Her Knighst, Pack Bonds book one, by Rosemary Johns is a book featuring Rebel, Omega resistance leader, Lucian, her Alpha brother, and Angel, Beta best friend. This small pack of three are trying to save all designations and for everyone to be heard. I'm a huge sucker for a strong FMC who is trying to change the world. Rebel meets the Knight Pack. They end up bonding and Rebel becomes part of their pack. There's so many spoilers I want to share - just read the book. Its a great read. Looking forward to Lucians story. He deserves a HEA also.
