Jinwoo knows it won't be long before his true power fully comes to light and the guilds and Hunter's Association of Korea descend, seeking his allegiance. Since his training has thus far been a solo endeavor, Jinwoo decides he ought to at least see what an A-rank raid is really like. Joining the Hunters' excavation team is the perfect opportunity to assess a high-level guild in action, even if his role is limited to hauling and mining. That is, until a particularly nasty dungeon boss requires the luggage carrier to step up to carry the team as well!!
Chapters 56 to 75 I am really feeling that the fans of this novel did it a great disservice, and the writer got really affected by what everyone was saying, so first lots of fans complained about him luckily winning each time and coming very close for comfort, then Sung gets overleveled and now people are complaining of him being too powerful, i think there is a great chance, the next few arcs will introduce limitations to Sung again, to satisfy the readers. First we get a Jeju Island update, the ants evolved, and they can now fly to other countries, meaning they can even fly to Korea as well.
do the undead feel fear?
when Sung jinwoo's father beat the crap out of hwang dongsoo, i loved it, also damn i am good memorizing these Korean names. It's really exciting when sung is finally recognized as an S rank i knew at the red gate arc he was already S rank, i was making these mental notes ranking him up on my own, we had a pretty good guess, how far he was getting because of his opponents ranks.
Could he be *censored word*
come on man the suspense is killing me, these monsters know something, sung jinwoo's father knows the same thing, this entire manga could be blown wide open, once we learn the truth about them, just like what happened in gantz. I think Sung should have taken the loot from that boss, he is the one who killed it, he saved their lives, every boss he killed so far gave significant upgrades, so this was a wasted opportunity, but who knows, maybe the fact, that they were unable to mine or haul the dungeon could hurt their finances big time too. but i am glad, sung didn't do anything morally gray this volume
it's the way i stayed up until 2:30am reading this??? THE HOLD THIS SERIES HAS ON ME- and i wouldve continued had it not been for me realizing i should sleep
i love how all the guilds are so desperate to recruit jin-woo bye they all want him so badly and he's like😐 i adore this guy
while I was considering -at the time of rating- to give the last two volumes 4 stars or 5, this one reached 5 stars completely & without a need to rethink. each one better than the last. the story just keeps getting better & better. (a little romance would be good, I hope we get it. fantasy anime s rarely have one. there's potentials.) I couldn't put it down. one more chapter turned to 10! exciting & suspenseful! this Boss was something else! also got emotional
Was prepared to give five stars because of how much I loved the manhwa. But the ending somewhat ruined it for me. I generally hate end-of-the-story time travels that fix everything in the past and grant victory to the protagonist without any of the costs. Which is why I had to do a facepalm the moment Jinwoo mentioned using the Cup of Reincarnation.
Apart from that, the manhwa was top-notch. The art was simply amazing and the fighting was well-drawn. In the beginning I read the manhwa purely because of the action, but over time the plot was well-developed and I loved the lore. And the protagonist was amazing.
It's cool to see our hero become stronger and summon even tougher creatures but the lack of having to try hard at all is getting annoying. Also, it hints he might go down a darker path but I have a feeling this series won't actually go with that plotline which sucks.
So yeah a lot of political talk and such about who's joining who inbetween some great fight scenes make this volume uneven at best.
how is it possible to lose your shit over one line because this volume had me throwing my book across the room.
"Many of them are still alive. But they too will be a part of my shadow soon. And in the end...so will you."
SIRRRRRRRRRR!!!!! i had literal goosebumps. we're getting so close to the jeju island arc and i cannot hold in my excitement. cha haein’s entrance in this volume, oh my goodness!!! 😍🫠😭😍🫠🫨 i know jinwoo has a few possible love interests, but she is my absolute favorite (and the only right answer imo). and i love their dynamic so far. this isn't a romance series (which i'm totally okay with) but as mostly a romance reader, of course i'm going to enjoy the cute little interactions we get between them. so i totally ship. can we talk about how much of a badass couple they would be??? they would be the most power couple to ever power couple. it was so cute when she felt embarrassed for showing up with only a pickaxe in front of jinwoo 😭
Jinwoo continues to gain powers and he knows that he soon can’t hide it anymore. Every guild will want to recruit him when they find out.
It's been quite some time since I read the previous volume, but it was fairly easy to get into the story again. I like to see how Jinwoo's self-esteem increases along with his powers. I still don't understand how everything works, but it doesn't matter. I'm entertained and enjoy following Jinwoo on his journey!
Oh wow I did not expect to give this 5 stars .. I like ALOT of thing in this series but I always had some issues because of my personal taste, not the quality. So I expected the usual 4 stars 😂.
⚠️spoilers⚠️
I loved that Jung went to two missions with two different groups, I think that’s what got me from the start. It was fun to see people underestimate him, while we know his true power.
And THEN he had to reveal himself against the Orcs.. the battle kept me on the edge of my SEAT. I was so excited for him to kill them and then use his necromancer powers. AND HE DID IT
Let me tell you when he said “ARISE” I was like YEAH ARISE YOU FU*Ks 👀 … excuse me but I was HYPED
I just loved everyone’s shocked faces.
I gotta say I also love the hunters association, and how they immediately surround Jung when people were coming to ask him stuff . Especially that blond dude that we met before (don’t remember his name) … anyways the suit people made me smile … kinda reminded me of SHIELD.
ALSOOO, the A or B ranking people have such cool costumes😍
Lastly, happy that Sung and Jinho are teaming up, nostalgia for the OG team.
This manhwa is super fun to read however I’m so used to the mc having to struggle while in battle so seeing Jinwoo win so effortlessly is kinda…. boring?
NO sigas leyendo si no has leído este tomo previamente.
Liikaa kuitenkin pitäydytään siinä fyysisen vahvuuden kuplassa, joita näissä yleensä on. Saisi lisää olla sitä, että pärjättäisiin aivojen kanssa - ongelmanratkaisukykyä ja muita taitoja vaativia asioita. Sillä millä tämä koko juttu sai alkunsa. Sitä kaipaan enemmän.
Since Goodreads have been acting glitchy, I wasn't able to give you my thoughts. Anyways, this was a pleasant webtoon to read with amazing character designs and the art was fantastic. The story in itself is similar to a lot of those "level up player" scenarios but it had it's own personal flair to it which I enjoyed. Sure our male MC is an overpowered character but I wasn't reading really for the plot.
Jinwoo gets stronger. Some people who seem strong get in over their heads. Don’t worry, Jinwoo is here to look cool. I hope you weren’t expecting much more.
Snore. This is probably in the running with Rent-A-Girlfriend as the most ‘why in the hell am I reading this?’ manga on my current list. If you like your big, overblown, testosterone-laden male power fantasy where no stakes exist and Jinwoo is a god unto men, here you go.
With no proper explanation of what any of this is about, that just gives leeway for things to just be pulled out of the author’s butt at any given moment. I can barely remember who half this sprawling cast is and so much time is given over to things being slashed over and over and over again that nobody is interesting.
A female high rank hunter is introduced and her huge bank of power basically lets her be in awe of Jinwoo and show up late to see how amazing he is and remark that he smells nice. That’s pretty much par for the course for female characters in this series.
There are a couple things that I do like, lest I come off as a total curmudgeon rather than, say, 95% as intended. This brewing plot line with ants that appear to be humanoid is interesting, a rare moment of suspense before Jinwoo likely wipes out their species in subsequent volumes.
We also get to see the acknowledgment that, yes, some of the stronger hunters are actually so powerful that they’re replacing the military or running their own countries. It’s a little too late to start delving into this, but I was happy to see somebody noticed the power creep finally.
If you just want to see a brooding guy who is just getting more and more powerful and stomping everything in his way without a hint of a problem, sure, this fits the bill. So do a million other stories like it.
2.5 stars - I will likely keep up with this just to see what those damn ants are doing. And it’s not bad if you like this sort of thing, but it is absolutely and completely on autopilot because of how all-powerful its lead is.
I started Solo Leveling just to see why so many people were recommending it. Now I know. This is peak fantasy. When I read the first volume, I was stunned by the great artwork and the simplistic yet mysterious path the story was heading. I turned out to be a fool. It wasn't what I had expected, "the MMORPG aspect that had turned me off so much became the lighthouse of my immense hunger to consume more." The 5th volume is very interesting due to the relaxation of the action and the rise of intensity in just dialogue. The first half of this volume is just a small detour for the reader to understand some things about the world. (Japan and Jetsu Island as well as the rest of the federations around the world) As for the second part, it acts as preparation for what's about to come next and it for sure is going to be great.
Reading it again because why not? This is looking like it would be my forever read so let's go and keep on Reading.
Re-Read I can't stop and I won't stop reading and loving this series. Gotta Keep on Reading.
I don't know anyone else but I am loving all the antics and action and drama and the monsters and everything else so let's go ahead and keep on reading.
I have always loved comics, and I have I can. I love comics to bits, may the comics never leave my side. I loved reading this and love reading more, you should also read what you love and hope always to love them. Even though I grew up reading local Indian comics like Raj Comics, Diamond Comics, or even Manoj Comics, now's the time to catch up on international and classic comics and Graphic novels. I am on my quest to read as many comics as I just want to Keep on Reading.
