I don't normally review the cookbooks I read, but I think this one is such a gem. It has spiral binding inside a hardcover, a must for any cookbook. There are illustrations accompanying the ingredient and utensil lists and great advice on table manners and cooking written in Deen's exuberant style. Includes some of her classic recipes, like her meatloaf, so the kids can make a full blown meal, but there is some simpler fare included too.

If you like to cook with your kids, this is a great book!

Not necessarily the healthiest recipes, but fun. Would be great for a sleepover or a kids cooking party. Ingredients are shown by picture, but you definitely have to be able to read to follow the instructions.

Nice illustrations and clear instructions, but I think some of these recipes may be a bit too complicated for kids under 12. The recipes look delicious, however, and I'd love to use this book to make a tween my cooking slave!

It has a lot of desserts. Not what I was expecting for lunch box ideas.
